I’m all about showing up as a “whole person” professionally. Some of us have young kids and families, some of us are struggling with loss or aging parents, some of us are working on ourselves emotionally. I think it’s so important to honor that “whole person” and our efforts to become better (in whatever way that looks like for you) each and every day. I struggle a lot with perfectionism (surprise!). I desperately want to not instill that mentality in my daughter nor within my family. I often read parenting books to help me augment my toolkit for setting Lola up for a life of happiness and fulfillment. We don’t gate keep secrets to healthy children around here, so I wanted to share with my network a wonderful book I just finished: “Good Inside” by Dr. Becky Kennedy . I cannot recommend this more to any parent wanting to give your children a sturdy emotional foundation on which to build a life (don’t we all) and how to improve your own emotional foundation in the process. Two things can be true: we can be good inside AND be having a hard time with a situation. I loved it and hope you do too. #parenting #work #perfectionism #selfhelp #children

As my 10-yr anniversary with Orica approaches, I find myself reflecting on the rich mining history right here in my back yard. I have spent the majority of my life in the four-state area, where Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma meet. Both coal and lead-zinc were mined here, specifically in a 2500 sq mile area located in the tri-state district of southwestern Missouri, southeastern Kansas, and northeastern Oklahoma. Small mining camps were soon filled with smelters, large homes and businesses. Rail lines made Joplin, Missouri the center of the tri-state district, and it soon became the lead-zinc capital of the world. Coal production became central to the expansion of railroads because it burned hotter and was less bulky than wood. Strip mines were opened in southeast Kansas to meet this demand. For many years, this area was the main source of fuel for the entire Santa Fe railroad. During strip mining operations, overlying soil and rock (called overburden) was stripped away using power shovels to expose coal beds too thin to be mined underground. Big Brutus, the worlds largest electric shovel in existence today, operated here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 11 years. Eventually, continued operation was considered uneconomical and Big Brutus was shut down. The shovel was simply too large to relocate, and dismantling, transport and reassembly was considered too costly. They left Big Brutus where it sat and have since built a mining museum around it. Thousands of acres that were strip mined are now part of the Mined Land Wildlife Area. Habitats were restored and lakes stocked with fish. Native grassland, woody shrubs, oak-hickory forests and wetlands within the area provide a diverse habitat for a variety of animals. This land is even occupied by a small herd of bison. Today, I took my family to the Big Brutus Museum (I'm pictured here in the Operator's Cabin). Big Brutus is 160 feet high and weighs 11 million pounds. The shovel holds 90 cubic yards (150 tons), enough material to fill 3 rail cars. The Bucyrus Erie 1850-B electric shovel is an impressive piece of machinery, even today!

Incredible news on the funding initiatives for mining programs! It's truly vital for advancing our industry. However, it’s concerning that anthracite mining seems excluded from the narrative surrounding our dependency on domestic minerals and essential resources. Anthracite plays a crucial role in supporting the steel technologies movement and deserves equal focus. We must remember that anthracite mining also needs skilled engineers to sustain its contribution to our infrastructure and technology development. #greensteel #mining #engineering #sustainablemining #mineralresources #steelindustry Hey! From Self-Pride to Public Esteem: Navigating the Complexities of Recognition “Pride and ego come when we feel we have done something right. However, respect and honor come when others feel we have done something right.” This statement highlights the nuanced dynamics of how we perceive ourselves versus how we are perceived by others, capturing the essence of two different paths to recognition. Pride and Ego: The Self-Reflection When we achieve something significant, it’s natural to feel proud. Pride is that inner glow, a sense of satisfaction, and confidence in our abilities. It tells us, “I did well.” However, pride has a shadow—ego. Ego steps in when our sense of accomplishment becomes inflated, whispering, “I did this better than anyone else.” It’s easy for ego to overshadow our humility, leading to an exaggerated view of our own importance. When ego dominates, it can cloud our judgment, making us less receptive to feedback and more prone to conflicts. Respect and Honour: The External Validation Conversely, respect and honor are bestowed by others. They arise from our actions that resonate positively with the people around us. Respect is earned when others see our integrity and dedication. Honor goes a step further—it is a deep acknowledgment that our actions have profoundly impacted others and aligned with their highest values. Balancing Both Worlds The challenge lies in balancing our inner pride with the external respect and honor. A healthy self-esteem is important, but so is being mindful of how our actions affect and are perceived by others. To cultivate this balance, we must stay grounded and open to the perspectives of others. Recognize that our worth is not only measured by our own standards but also by how we uplift and inspire those around us. By doing so, we can transform personal pride into a legacy of respect and honor. In the end, while pride and ego are intrinsic and self-driven, respect and honor are the echoes of our actions in the hearts of others. The true essence of accomplishment lies in harmonizing these forces, creating a life that is both fulfilling for ourselves and meaningful to those we touch. John Shmyr Murchison Minerals VP Exploration explains that our BMK deposit is in a similar geological environment as the Flin Flon, Lalor Lake, Lynn Lake and Snow Lake Deposits. The La Ronge Belt is very similar in age and geology to the Flin Flon Belt – one of the most prolific VMS belts in the world. We are focused on growing and developing our BMK deposit which is associated with La Ronge metavolcanics. 🔽 Transcript 🔽 [John Shmyr / VP Exploration] There's the La Ronge Belt further north, and it's similar in age and geology to that of the Flin Flon Belt. But as you can see, there's essentially no circles associated with that La Ronge Belt. But if you actually trend those rocks into Manitoba, the continuation of those rocks is the Lynn Lake belt, as well as the Leaf Rapids domain. They're the same rocks. It's just a different name being on the other side of the border. Well, you can see those circles starting to pop up again, and there's some very significant deposits within there. For example, the world class Ruttan VMS deposit that produced 55 million tons, creating 1.23% copper and 1.41% zinc. And then right at the border, there was the Fox Lake mine and that produced 12 million 82% copper and 1.78% zinc. So very significant deposits. But what’s important – and where we see the gap – is you trend those rocks into Saskatchewan and then again you lose the circles and that has nothing to do with the geology. That's entirely [because of a] lack of base metal exploration within the province of Saskatchewan, specifically within those rocks. And that goes back to something called Saskatchewan SMDC, Saskatchewan Mineral Mining Development Corporation, essentially nationalized exploration of the province. That's long gone, but as a relic of that, there was a lack of exploration in the province for a very long period of time. So right now there's only one significant VMS deposit associated with those belts of rocks. And specifically what we see is the MacLean Lake belt, which we think is a kind of a back arc basin. And that's kind of where these VMS tend to form in against that La Ronge VMS or La Ronge Volcanic Belt. So we've staked a large package within there and then that hosts that BMK deposit. So we see the same exploration potential within that Flin Flon belt as within the McLean Lake belt. And that's what's really got us excited because we have a very major deposit right now. Continuing to grow that, develop that, but it's also that regional thesis. So looking for all the rest of those satellite deposits, because we feel that we have kind of mining camp scale potential similar to Flin Flon. Original interview → https://lnkd.in/gd5M8gkb

I'm not a father to kids, but this is a proud professional dad moment. ICMM's guidance on mine closure ranked first in CRC TiME's assessment of 11 different tools available! Non-mining folks might be wondering what bizarre niche this is but trust me, closing mines responsibly is critical, complicated, and with plenty of bad past practice alongside some great examples. Good practice begins with good guidance, and I'm so proud of the ICMM team and members who created this guidance. Particularly pleased that it ranked highly on the most practical and most usable criteria of the assessment - the whole point is to have real change on the ground. Like all ICMM materials, this is publicly available and for all to use. Please, mining companies who are not members of ICMM, use and build on it. Meanwhile, ICMM companies will continue to implement the guidance towards ever better outcomes for people and the environment through responsible post-mine transitions.

🔈Blue Moon Metals update from the McClintock Group We just recieved our voting material for Blue Moon Metals. Looking through the Notice of Annual Meeting I couldn't help but be in a bit of disbelief. With Mr. Jonathan Gagne not seeking re-election, over the course of less than 20 months that is five (5) directors that have either resigned unexplained, citing serious concerns, or not seeking re-election. Though completely unrelated, it is worth noting the #CFO of Blue Moon Metals, Mr. Varun Prasad departed as CFO of Western Copper and Gold earlier this month. We are encouraged with the quality of incoming directors into Blue Moon Metals and are hopeful the issues we raised, which have been significant in our opinion in regards to having continued to depress the value of Blue Moon Metals to any fair market value. Including but not limited to the disposal of 7 million shares by the CEO just 3.5 months prior to an unexpected share roll back of which the #CEO repurchased majority of his existing position at a 50% discount to market. Despite this, we are encouraged that our efforts of repersenting shareholders have been key factors in allowing a stronger board of directors and hopefully this leads to new and in our opinion proper management. TRU Precious Metals Corp. (TSXV: TRU). (“TRU” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce its intent to carry out an exploration program this spring and summer at its Golden Rose Project (“Golden Rose”) in Western-Central Newfoundland. Exploration will assess the critical minerals potential associated with the deposit-bearing Cape Ray – Valentine Lake Shear Zone and will be copper (“Cu”)-focused. The program will also investigate other critical minerals occurrences hosting nickel (“Ni”) and zinc (“Zn”), which have been identified in previous exploration activities carried out by the Company. The objective of the exploration program is to develop a deeper understanding of the overall critical minerals potential at Golden Rose, supplementing the heightened prospectivity of Golden Rose for gold.
