“Lucas is committed and compassionate with vast knowledge and experience that he readily shares with others. I met Lucas when he was volunteering as a speaker for a tech program for low-income students. When I initially reached out to him to take a survey on the current hiring needs of tech employers, he didn’t hesitate to take the survey, and also share it out to his network. After that I began following him on Linkedin and soon began to appreciate how he uses Linkedin to not only network for himself, but to support and connect others from career seekers to volunteer opportunities. Lucas was the first person that came to mind when I needed someone to teach a class on the importance of Linkedin and the best ways to use it to get ahead. The class was part of a 5-week program for UNITE-LA's Step into Tech program which connects system-involved individuals 18 and older to careers and training opportunities in technology. Lucas did not hesitate in answering the call. He created a very detailed PowerPoint presentation, and brought in examples of do’s and don’ts. Everyone who attended the session, participants, mentors, and staff all benefitted and were engaged in his thorough presentation. He was also very welcoming in answering everyone’s many questions. Lucas’ commitment and generosity is a great example of what we need more of in this world.”
