    On Friday August 12, 2016, Apex for Youth mentees attended a morning Career Day session at Pentagram, located in Manhattan’s Flatiron district. Pentagram is a company that designs and produces some of the world’s most well known brand logos, and the company also created Apex for Youth’s new logo two years ago.

The inspiration for this hack stems from the controversial immigration ban implemented on January 27, 2017; with so many lawyers and legal advisors who converged to numerous protests around the globe and provided…

  • Blind Recruit

    Won Best "Inequality" Hack at Social Hacks (January 7-8, 2017) —

    24hr Hackathon group project that addresses gender and racial bias presentin the modern day workforce. Blind Recruit utilizes OCR API by reading in images of resumes/recommendations and strips away gender bias pronouns and names with gender neutral ones and initials, respectively. Intended for applicant and employer use; employers can search up modified applications by given initials and ID.
