  • This week, we recognise Transgender Awareness Week – a time to amplify the voices, rights, and experiences of transgender and gender-diverse people. At WWDA, we stand with the trans community and allies who work tirelessly to spotlight issues in trans healthcare, education, and wellbeing. Advocacy for inclusive healthcare, protection from discrimination and violence, and the right to live authentically are at the core of our mission, and that extends to all of our members - including those who are trans, non-binary and gender-diverse! There will always be space at WWDA for diverse identities and experiences, so let’s join together to create a community that embraces and protects diversity, with dignity, respect, and equity for all. 🏳️⚧️💜 Learn more about gender and sexuality with Neve: https://buff.ly/3Z3uKFa [Image description: This tile has a purple background with a rainbow light coming from the top of the tile. • The Leadership and Mentoring Toolkit aims to foster solidarity and support among our members, empowering you to take on advocacy and leadership in your communities. We were so fortunate to have First Nations artist Jannell Mongoo create two beautiful pieces of art for our toolkit. The first piece is called "Woman Spirit", which inspired the colour palette of the toolkit and our principle of Safe Leadership. "The Woman Spirit in the centre of the artwork is looking after and guiding the women around her. She is reaching out to them and wrapping around them to support and guide them on their journey." Discover more within the toolkit, including Jannell's second piece 'Women Strength'. https://buff.ly/3BYOY9Q [Image description: This tile has a purple background, with the white WWDA logo in the top-right corner. • On October 9th, our LEAD team met in person for the first time in Melbourne to film the launch of the Leadership and Mentoring Toolkit, with CEO Sophie Cusworth, COO Belinda Nixon and Aunty Diane Kerr, a Wurundjeri Elder. The launch recording showcased the amazing work and dedication of our LEAD team and co-design panels. This group of diverse and passionate advocates and their shared vision shone throughout, capturing the spirit of this Toolkit. They hope the toolkit inspires more people to embrace their leadership, creating ripple effects that uplift others, build confidence, and foster more inclusive communities for all! This toolkit would not have been possible without the dedicated advocacy and effort of our stakeholders, including our committees and panels. We have created an Acknowledgements page to make sure everyone involved is recognised for their contribution – follow this link to see the full list of our contributors: https://buff.ly/3A7B7xu 🟣 Comment "link" to see the full list of Toolkit contributors 🟣 [Video description: This video is a montage slideshow of the toolkit recording day, featuring LEAD design elements and photos of LEAD team members, CEO Sophie Cusworth, COO Belinda Nixon, the Next Gen AV recording team and Aunty Diane Kerr, a Wurundjeri Elder.] #WWDA #LEADToolkit #LaunchEvent #WeAreLeaders

  • Cervical screening is for all women and people with a cervix! It’s a test to check that your cervix is healthy and helps identify the virus that causes almost all cervical cancers before it has a chance to develop. It can help save your life. The first step is to get the information you need. Find that and more at: https://buff.ly/3BTIObh [Image description: A photo of a woman looking at her laptop in a dark room with pink fairy lights.
