    A common pitfall in launching a Change Management Office (CMO) is the "launch and leave" phenomenon. This happens when sponsors initially champion the CMO, only to vanish once the initiative is underway. In a recent Prosci webinar, Brittany Clark, one of our Principal Change Advisors, emphasized the need for continuous sponsor involvement. When sponsors disappear, it sends a message that the CMO might not be as important as initially claimed. That can cause doubt and disengagement across the organization. To ensure success, sponsors must remain actively involved and visible throughout the CMO's lifecycle. Continuous engagement demonstrates commitment and reinforces the CMO's value to the organization. For those leading change initiatives, remember that sustained sponsorship is key to credibility and effectiveness. Keep your sponsors engaged and actively supporting your change efforts.
