Building trust is not just about being transparent and honest, there are other elements that can build trust, though honesty is a given. My personal take is that the word trust consist of three elements: 1. Being Competent in your craft and staying abreast on issues and synthesizing issues that your client is facing. 2. Intention - what is the outcome that you are looking at and it should not be the just the short game on building your consulting billables, the focus should be on making sure that your client succeed so that a long term relationship is established and developed. 3. Reliability, this element is perhaps the most critical to build the long game with your client.

Trust is built through consistent transparency. To ensure transparency and honesty in client interactions, it’s essential to be clear from the start about objectives, expectations, and potential challenges. In my experience, regularly updating clients on progress, both successes and setbacks, creates a strong relationship. It's also crucial not to overpromise and to be honest when unforeseen issues arise. With open communication and a solution-oriented approach, you ensure that trust grows over time.

To build trust with clients over time, staying transparent and honest is essential. Here’s how you can do it:
1. Communicate openly: Make sure to keep the client in the loop throughout the process. Be upfront about progress, setbacks, or any changes—good communication builds trust.
2. Set clear expectations: Right from the start, ensure both you and your client are on the same page about goals, timelines, and responsibilities. This helps avoid confusion later on.
3. Own up to mistakes: If something goes wrong, admit it honestly. People appreciate when you're straightforward about errors, and it shows you're accountable and reliable.
