- This series is based on the real life adventures of the Kopp sisters: Constance, Norma and Fleurette, focusing mainly on Constance. Either for purposes of the storyline, or to fill in unknown details, the accounts are somewhat fictionalized. They also had a brother, Francis, but his export business kept him traveling. After their mother's death, the sisters move to a farm, where they pursue very different interests. When they are threatened by the Black Hand in their attempt to be reimbursed after a traffic accident, they come to the attention of the police, notably Sheriff Robert N. Heath.
