Early Reviewers
Summer has finally arrived and fifteen-year-old Harper McCallister intends to spend her days at the mall shopping, by the pool at her country club, or on any number of fabulous vacations with her friends. But after her parents receive the latest heart-stopping credit card bill, Harper's dad makes other plans for her. Bright and early the next morning, Harper is shipped off to summer camp at Whispering Pines. Suddenly, the clueless yet ever-popular Harper finds herself at the bottom of a social ladder she can't climb in wedge sandals and expensive clothes. No one takes her seriously, she can't even dry her hair without blowing a fuse in the bunk, and worst of all, they've confiscated her phone. Slowly, but surely, Harper starts to find her place, even making a few friends--including super-cute camp ""lifer,"" Ethan. And when the camp bands together to create an entry for a competition to have pop-star London Blue film her next music video on campus, Harper begins to realize Whispering Pines may not be so bad. That is, until she accidentally sets their contest entry on fire. An outcast once again, it's up to Harper to make things right. With the help of her friends, and a counselor's borrowed cellphone, Harper manages to save the day in the nick of time, learning the real meaning of friendship and finding a whole new summer state of mind along the way.
