Quersus Icos Chair Review: A Perfect Office Gaming Hybrid

Quersus eliminates the need for you to ponder whether to choose a gaming or an office chair. Their solution, embodied by the Icos chair, offers a simple yet compelling response: "Why not have both?"

Quersus ICOS arrives neatly packaged, with each component individually protected to prevent any damage during transport. Once you unpack everything, assembly is surprisingly straightforward. The package not only includes all the chair parts but also comes with detailed instructions and the necessary tools, allowing you to easily put it together yourself in about 20 minutes.

Once you get that out of the way and assemble the chair, you’ll find that it’s an excellent example of the perfect hybrid between a gaming and office chair. It strikes a balance, avoiding an overly extravagant design like many gaming chairs, while still being much sturdier than many office chairs you can find out there. With that said the ICOS does fall into a midsize chair category. According to the official specifications, the chair is designed for people up to 180cm in height and can support a maximum weight of 150kg.

The backrest, headrest and the seat itself are all designed to be without any extremely abrupt protrusions that would diminish their usable size. With plenty of adjustments to the seat itself like the height and tilt along with various adjustments to the armrests which can move in basically all directions, the Icos can easily be fitted to suit your needs whether you are an office worker or an avid gamer.

Besides the adjustments, the build quality is excellent and the overall design is understated yet beautiful. The backrest is constructed from a single, incredibly sturdy piece of plastic without unnecessary joints or hinges, and when combined with the aluminum base, it offers exceptional stability. The wheels won’t damage your surfaces even under maximum load and there are no unpleasant creaking or other noises coming from the chair during regular use.

This particular variant of the Icos fully embraces clean minimalism as its trademark, with a combination of woven fabric and suede material on its edges. The upholstery is tightly fitted to the frame, and there are no material protrusions or imperfections when it comes to the seams. Furthermore, the material not only looks great, but is also quite pleasant and smooth to the touch. It’s also water-resistant, which is always a great bonus to prevent accidental spills.

While Icos is undeniably comfortable, the emphasis here is more on ergonomics and support rather than pure comfort. The seat and the chair in general is filled with quite dense cold-cure foam, which, while of high quality, isn’t overly soft in a way that you would sink into it like you would in an armchair or something. Still, a rather comfortable chair that will carry you through an entire day with no issues whatsoever.
