Nearly every aspect of Gravastar Sirius Pro, from the packaging to the design of the case and earbuds is great and in line with the whole futuristic vibe, Gravastar is going for with its products. The charging case itself must be one of the most unique designs out there and it honestly looks stunning. Besides the overall, futuristic vibe, you have all these awesome little details across the case that show much care was given to its construction. This thing is made almost entirely out of zinc alloy and feels like it could get run over by a car and still keep going. It’s so tough in fact that you can literally use the case as a bottle opener without any fear you’ll damage it in any way. It even has a small LED strip with six possible colors in case you felt that Sirius Pro wasn’t already eye-catching enough.
The holding mechanism is spring-loaded and the button requires quite a bit of force to press so accidental drops of the case won’t result in the earbuds falling out. Besides, they are further held in place by really strong magnets that will prevent the earbuds from falling out even with violent shaking. As for the earbuds themselves, they have a few standout little details here like the color accent and the branding. They also have a small LED on each that will light up when the earbuds are charging or pairing with Bluetooth devices. The earbuds are fairly small and come with three sizes of silicone tips that should make them a perfect fit for nearly anyone, even those who are into sports as they are IPX5 rated meaning Sirius Pro will handle sweat or light rain with no issues.
Bluetooth 5.2 enables these earbuds to connect to all sorts of devices and the connection is absolutely rock-solid in the 10-meter range with almost no latency to speak of. They also feature the always welcome touch controls that are as intuitive as they come. You can use them to play, pause and skip tracks, increase or decrease the volume, take calls and activate the Google Assistant or Siri. Under the hood, you have the 7.2mm Dynamic Drivers plus the four balanced armature driver units from the well-known Knowles brand. The combination means Sirius Pro absolutely kills it in the sound department, delivering punchy bass and excellent clarity in both mids and highs.
The battery life of Sirius Pro is in the ballpark of competitor earbuds. They’ll last around 6 hours when fully charged and you have three additional charges in the case for a total of around 24 hours. This might have been best in class if the charging case didn’t have that gaping hole, but seeing as it does, it’s impressive Gravastar still managed to cram 400 mAh worth of battery in. The consistently functional in-ear detection certainly helps with longevity as the playback will pause as soon as you take one earbud out and will instantly continue when you put it back in. There’s no quick charging feature here so it takes around two hours to charge the case and earbuds.
