The latest Special Program for Hoyoverse’s Zenless Zone Zero just wrapped and Version 1.3 is packed with content. With two new S-Rank Agents to pull for, two new Agent Stories to play, several new permanent game modes to plunder for Polychromes, a batch of exciting new events, and more, Version 1.3 has a little something for everyone.
Before going any further, though, let’s reveal the special redemption code that was given out during the livestream. Redeeming this code before it expires on the 26th of October will net you 300 Polychromes, 30,000 Dennies, 2 Senior Investigator Logs and 3 W-Engine Energy Modules. The code in question is VIRTUALREVENGE so redeem it fast.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.3 will introduce two new S-Rank Agents to the game, beginning with the first S-Rank member of Section 6, Tsukishiro Yanagi, a Limited S-Rank Electric Anomaly Agent. Wielding a high-tech naginata, Yanagi can switch her stance mid-combo, changing her available attacks and providing her with different buffs. Her EX Special Attack will cause Yanagi to enter the Shinrabanshou state, stabbing forward towards her opponent with great speed: if the target is under an Anomaly effect, Yanagi’s Agent Skill, Polarity Disorder, will trigger, dealing Disorder DMG without removing the original Anomaly effect.
Meanwhile, the second S-Rank Agent of 1.3 will take us back to the wilds of the Outer Ring as Lighter becomes the next playable member of the Sons of Calydon. He’s a Fire Stunner like Koleda and Lighter’s main weapon of choice is his fists. With each consecutive hit, he will build Morale and, once Lighter reaches maximum Morale, the fifth hit of his Basic Attack will increase his Impact at the cost of his accrued Morale. He also lowers the Fire and Ice RES of his targets while increasing the length of time that they are Stunned: if that wasn’t all, if you run him with an Attack Agent or another member of the Sons, Lighter will increase the Fire and Ice DMG of the entire team.
Aside from new Agents, 1.3 will also introduce two new Bangboos. The A-Rank Bangboo Baddieboo will be added to the Bangboo Channel. Meanwhile, the A-Rank Knightboo Bangboo will also be available as a free reward from the new Mystery of Arpeggio Fault event.
In the first phase of Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.3, Tsukishiro Yanagi will star as the featured S-Rank Agent on the Limited Channel. At the same time, her signature W-Engine, Timeweaver, will be available from the W-Engine Channel. Anby and Billy will also feature as rate-up A-Rank Agents.
Then, in phase two, Lighter will take centre stage on the Limited Channel alongside his signature W-Engine, Blazing Laurel, which will be available from the W-Engine Channel. Meanwhile, Ben and Corin will feature on Lighter’s banner as rate-up A-Ranks.
Version 1.3 will introduce two new Agent Stories, one for Yanagi and one for Lighter, and they will initially be part of a new event called the TV Schedule. By completing Yanagi and Lighter’s Agent Stories, as well as special Warm-Up Exercises and stages where you play as the associated Agents, you will earn Tokens which can be redeemed for additional rewards, including Polychromes.
Additionally, a new permanent game called the Simulated Battle Trial will be added in 1.3. By battling dangerous opponents one after another, you will steadily climb the Battle Tower, earning Polychrome and medals as you go. The higher you climb, the tougher the fights will be and the better the rewards you’ll earn, including higher rarity medals and badges. Like in Hollow Zero, you will begin with a limited roster of Agents, with more being added to the available roster as you climb higher.
The Simulated Battle Trial isn’t the only new permanent game mode being introduced in ZZZ Version 1.3, though, as a new rogue-like mode called The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault will be available in Hollow Zero. There are five chapters of randomly generated stages which you’ll explore using the HDD, clearing enemies or engaging in special events as you go. This event will have both permanent and limited rewards, including the new Knightboo Bangboo, so make sure to clear it as soon as possible.
Aside from the Simulated Battle Trial and Mystery of Arpeggio Fault, Version 1.3 will also have several usual events and activities for Proxies to take part in. A new H.I.A. event will task you with clearing special stages with only a single Agent at your disposal, whereas a Bangboo-run sandwich stand will request your aid with sorting orders. Additionally, there will be another Banbgoo-centric event, like the one seen in Version 1.0, and a hand-in event where you get extra rewards and bonuses.
Of course, there will also be the standard log-in campaign events during phase one and phase two of Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.3. If you log in for a week during phase one, you will get 10 Encrypted Master Tapes for free, whereas logging in for a week during phase two will net you 10 free Boopons.
Lastly, several optimisations and quality-of-life changes are coming in 1.3. Firstly, titles and badges are added to your Namecards, allowing you to showcase your mastery of the game. Titles will be earned from completing missions and events, whereas badges will be awarded for completing tough combat challenges, such as the Simulated Battle Trial.
There are also updates coming to dismantling and crafting to make it more intuitive, including the automatic conversion of lower materials to higher ones. Additional, minor UI updates are being added to make everything easier to access at a glance.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.3 launches on November 6th 2024.
