Well, who saw this coming? If you needed the definition of childhood games, then here they are. You’d be hard-pressed to find many gamers, currently in their mid-20’s, that didn’t play any of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games when they were younger. Well, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 are making their return to consoles, with a remaster collection on September 4th, and everyone can grind their way to victory.

Just to make this announcement that extra bit special, today also marks the 52nd birthday for the legendary “Birdman” himself. Tony Hawk is the name synonymous with skateboarding and he helped to bring a new culture to the world.

2020 is proving to be quite emotional already as we’ve seen both Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil 3 return to our screens; the Tony Hawk’s announcement is just the icing on the cake. The games were famous for their exquisite, arcade simulation of skateboarding – which was very cool in the late 90’s – and their perfect soundtracks. The games featured many artists including Rage Against The Machine, Powerman 5000, and Papa Roach. Their remaster is set to feature all the originals levels and challenges, a revamped park creator, and a new online multiplayer component.

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 and 2 Remastered will be available on PS4, Xbox, and PC from September 4th.
