With the ‘Take the Reins’ season still in swing for The Sims 4, two new Kits are coming very soon, titled Modern Luxe and Poolside Splash. Both Kits will release September 7th and will be available for all platforms, including PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Xbox Series X | S.
Since the ‘Take the Reins’ season started back in July, The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack was released on July 20th. After that, things went pretty quiet for The Sims 4, with the exception of a few free back-to-school items being added into the game in August. Previously, some new Kits were outlined on this season’s roadmap, and after a wait, they are now almost here.
Modern Luxe and Poolside Splash
The Sims 4 Modern Luxe Kit is a Build Kit and will add modern, sophisticated and luxurious furniture and décor to the game. Think Glamour Life Stuff from The Sims 2. There will be lots of upmarket stylish objects to spruce up your Sims’ homes. Notable objects include wall art that is actually a TV, designer handbags, a luxurious double bed, and a functional record player! This particular Kit was created in collaboration with Xureila, a content creator and long-time player of The Sims.
The second Kit, The Sims 4 Poolside Splash Kit, is a Fashion Kit and will add new clothes for your Sims. Specifically, new swimwear! With this Kit, you can deck your Sims out in colorful and playful swimwear, and it looks like kids will be included as well! To complete their poolside look, you can accessorize your Sims with sandals, rainbow nails, sunglasses, inflatables, and more.
New Game Update (5th September)
In other news, a new update has arrived for The Sims 4, in preparation for the two new Kits. In the game, you can now filter Kits individually in Create-A-Sim and Build Mode. Instead of filtering all Kits, you can now, for example, look up items solely from Modern Luxe in Build Mode or Poolside Splash in Create-A-Sim.
There are also further fixes to the Gallery in The Sims 4, plus some updates addressed to the Free Cam in the console version of the game. There have also been a few minor fixes to other DLC in The Sims 4. For more information, see the official patch notes.
