The Sims 4‘s Season of Love has just been lit on fire thanks to the announcement of a brand-new Expansion Pack: The Sims 4 Lovestruck Expansion. This Expansion is set to take romance in the game to another level with brand-new romantic interactions, a dating app, objects, and a whole new world. This was all revealed in an official announcement trailer. The Sims 4 Lovestruck Expansion Pack is set to come out on July 25th, and will be available for PC via Steam and EA App, Mac via Origin, Xbox One | Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 | 5, and Epic Games Store. The Sims 4 Expansion Packs cost $39.99. Lovestruck will be the sixteenth Expansion Pack released for The Sims 4. The last Expansion was December 2023, with For Rent.
What’s New?
The trailer showcased a lot for The Sims 4 Lovestruck Expansion Pack. There’s a brand-new urban world to play in. The only other urban world in The Sims 4 was courtesy of City Living Expansion. Lovestruck‘s new city is called Ciudad Enamorada (which is Spanish for “City in Love”). This beautiful exotic city comes packaged with 3 neighborhoods full of new Lots, sights, and Sims to meet. There’s even a new Singles Hangout Lot Trait to attract single Sims looking for love.
Lovestruck (finally) adds a dating app to The Sims 4. Officially called Cupid’s Corner, Sims can find matches via this app and get set up on dates. Dates, which haven’t changed since The Sims 4 base game, are getting an overhaul, allowing you not only to choose the destination, but also what you want to do. New romantic activities include blankets, cuddling in bed, and playing games.
Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs are also making a comeback to The Sims 4, having appeared in previous The Sims games. These won’t quite be the same as likes and dislikes from the base game. How will your Sims be attracted to each other? Through their interests? How they like to interact? The only way to find out is by getting to know each other better, and maintaining their Romantic Satisfaction. There’s also a new Relationship Dynamic for dating Sims, which is influenced by how well they get on. Is their relationship wholesome, or strained?
Lovestruck doesn’t just upgrade dating and romantic interactions in The Sims 4. Romance can become a whole new skill for lustful Sims, including a new aspiration, as well as the ability to become a Romance Consultant.
