The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack was leaked not long ago, and now it has been officially announced and revealed via a trailer and an official blog. The Sims 4 For Rent in a nutshell will allow your Sims to act as a landlord and rent out properties to other Sims. They will be able to own multiple properties, and you can build your own completely from scratch.

New World: Tomarang
Every Expansion Pack for The Sims 4 has introduced a new world to the game (except Seasons), and For Rent is no different. For this Expansion Pack, Tomarang is the world where you get to experience the new gameplay The Sims 4 For Rent has to offer.
Tomarang is inspired by Southeast Asia, and is a bustling city set in a scenic tropical world, with a mixture of modernity and tradition. Tomarang has been specially designed to showcase the highlights of multi-family dwellings and community activities. The Sims Team collaborated with Asian-American rapper, social justice advocate and cultural expert Jason Chu for consulation on The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack.
Highlights of Tomarang include a botanical garden, animal sanctuary, and a Spirit House, as well as a park where children can play Hopscotch and Marbles. There is also a Night Market, complete with lanterns, street vendors, food, and unique items. Sims will be able to cook new dishes at home, including Khao Niao Mamuang, Tofu Pad Thai, Pancit Bihon, Burmese Samosa Soup and Banh Cuon. Sims can also drink the new Halo Halo and Thai Iced Milk Tea.
There will be special community events such as a Potluck and Pool Parties to get the community together in the various complexes.
Tomarang will showcase everything The Sims 4 For Rent has to offer.
Multi-Unit Residential Lots
As mentioned, Tomarang will be full of multi-household properties. The Sims 4 has previously introduced the concept of multi-household residential buildings with apartments in the City Living and Eco Lifestyle Expansion Packs. However, The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion takes it to a whole other level. You will be able to build your own multi-tenancy properties completely from scratch, fully customizing to your liking. Also, multi-resident properties were restricted to apartments before, but now anywhere can be rented out, such as townhouses and basements. This type of lot isn’t restricted to the new world Tomarang: you can have multi-tenant properties in any world in The Sims 4 you like!
Tomarang Lots feature wooden window shades, beachside homes on stilts, and historic bridges. Give any property that Southeast Asian look thanks to traditional wood carvings, rattan furniture, rugs, chairs, tables, lamps, and lots more.
Unlike City Living and Eco Lifestyle, multi-tenancy properties can be fully built and customized, and aren’t restricted to just apartments.
Property Owners and Tenants
With The Sims 4 For Rent, your Sims can become Property Owners. It is a big responsibility, and poor ratings from Tenants can lead to revolts. They’ll also have to keep an eye out for challenges that may arise, such as infestations and mold. As a Property Owner, your Sims can visit and conduct inspections, and fix broken objects such as the new Water Heater and Electrical Fuse Box. Tenants can learn secrets from their neighbors by eavesdropping, snooping, and even breaking in!
New Aspirations and Traits
No Expansion Pack for The Sims 4 is complete without new Aspirations and Traits to play with. There are 4 new Aspirations; Seeker of Secrets, Five-Star Property Owner, Fount of Tomarani Knowledge, and Discerning Dweller. Along with this, there are 5 new Traits that you can assign to your Sims; Nosy, Generous, Cringe, Child of the Village, and a special Trait for Elders: Wise. If this wasn’t enough, there’s an additional Fear to watch out for: the fear of being evicted!
The new Aspirations and Traits will get you fully engaged in the new gameplay and world.
Release Date and Bonus Content
The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack will be released on December 7th. It is now available for pre-order from the EA App, Steam, and Epic Games Store for PC, Origin for Mac, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox One & Xbox Series X | S.
