The Dark Pictures Anthology Next-Gen Upgrades Announced for Previous TitlesWith Supermassive Games’ next entry to The Dark Pictures Anthology releasing in November, Supermassive has suddenly revealed next-gen upgrades for previous titles. The ones in question are the first two games in The Dark Pictures Anthology, Man of Medan and Little Hope. Both games launched only on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One without any sign of next-gen copies after House of Ashes was released.

If you are unfamiliar with The Dark Pictures Anthology they are a set of standalone cinematic horror games. Each game in the anthology has been releasing one entry each year since 2019, providing a new terrifying experience. Each game is unconnected and will feature a brand new story, setting and a new cast of characters. Here is the trailer for the new update to Man of Medan and Little Hope.

Bandai Namco has stealth launched the next-gen versions of Man of Medan and Little Hope, allowing anyone who has previously purchased the games physically to upgrade for free. Anyone who hasn’t had the chance to play these two horror classics can purchase them now digitally for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Supermassive has also included additional features alongside the next-gen upgrade. Those features are:

  • New difficulty settings & QTE warnings,
  • Improved UI & interactions,
  • Updated bearing art & event triggers,
  • Increased walking speeds,
  • More accessibility options, including subtitle sizing,
  • Man of Medan receives an unseen chapter called “Flooded”, introducing new gameplay and new deaths to the climactic ending.

These features are available for both the next and last generation of consoles. With this new update, it is the perfect time to revisit or discover the horrors of The Dark Pictures Anthology before the release of the season finale, The Devil in Me on November 18.
