Tales of the Shire Has Been Delayed From Fall 2024 to Early 2025

Tales of the Shire, a cozy simulator game where players can assume the role of Hobbits from the world of J. R. R. Tolkien and The Lord of the Rings, has been pushed back from releasing in Fall 2024 to now early 2025. This was declared in an official post on X made by the developers of Tales of the Shire, Wētā Workshop Game Studio. According to the statement, they want a little extra time to work on the game to ensure that it is ready for launch, hence the setback in release. 

Although the delay is a little disappointing, it is understanding that some extra time is needed to get the game to where it needs to be and ensure that it is ready for release. In the meantime, we will soon get a closer look at Tales of the Shire on September 22nd, which is when the Hobbit Day Showcase takes place. You can watch this via the official Tales of the Shire channels on YouTube, Twitch, X, and TikTok. The showcase starts at 10.30 PST | 13.30 EST | 18.30 GMT | 7.30 CEST. September 22nd is the chosen day as Hobbit Day for Lord of the Rings fans to celebrate the series because this is the birthday of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, the main characters from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

If you’re unfamiliar with Tales of the Shire, it is quite simply a cozy simulator game set in the world of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, where you play and live in Hobbiton. You’ll play your own created Hobbit, settling in a small new village called Bywater. You will help this community to thrive and establish themselves. In your day-to-day business as a Hobbit, you’ll garden, fish, cook, gather, and trade. Basically, you’ll get to live your dreams as you live the cozy peaceful life of a Hobbit. Tales of the Shire is set to release on multiple platforms, including PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. The game can also be Wishlisted on Steam.
