The iconic farming series, Story of Seasons, has released a captivating and artistic new trailer for their upcoming remake. Fans of the GameCube original still have a while to wait, but at least a concrete date has now been confirmed by publisher Marvelous. The remake of Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life will release for PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch on June 27th of 2023 in North America and Europe. Meanwhile, Japanese fans will get to play it as soon as January 26th.
Story of Seasons, formerly known to most as Harvest Moon, was one of the earliest and most prolific farming simulators. The cozy, cartoony art style paved the way for spinoffs such as Rune Factory, and indie successors such as Stardew Valley. A Wonderful Life stands out as one of the fan favourite entries, and this remake is sure to bring back warm memories. An interview with Famitsu last year revealed that it’s thanks to fan demand that this project was even greenlit. The trailer certainly doesn’t hold back either, using a unique flipbook approach. This remake follows Marvelous’ 2020 remake of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, which was decent, if overpriced. A Wonderful Life is looking far more substantial this time around, with a lot of changes in the pipeline.
