Onmyoji is a long-running series of historical fantasy novels and short stories written by Japanese author Baku Yumemakura. The story is set in a fictionalized version of the Heian period in Japan, and takes place in a dark and distant, yet elegant world where humans, spirits, and demons coexist. The protagonist, Abe no Seimei, is an Onmyoji and legendary oracle who works alongside his samurai companion to solve bizarre incidents relating to the collision of the human and demon worlds.
An anime adaptation of Baku Yumemakura's Onmyoji is coming to Netflix in 2023.
