No Future Updates for Marvel's Avengers

The 2.8 Update will be the last for Crystal Dynamics’ emotionally arousing action-adventure game. The future of Marvel’s Avengers was announced on the developer’s blog that after more than two years of adding new content, the players will not be provided with a new one starting from March 31, 2023. While the multi-player and single-player will remain available even after September 30, 2023, the official support of Marvel’s Avengers will have ceased by then. The Development Team reached such a conclusion after a mutual agreement with their partners.

Because the 2.8 Update will deal only with the balance issues, the 2.7 was actually the final one delivering the playable content – Winter Soldier Hero and Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat. Even new cosmetics are not coming to the game. The developes will officially close the marketplace on September 30; meaning credits will not be available for purchase. Crystal Dynamics also published a table on how the remaining credits will be transformed into recourses.

In the future, players can buy Marvel’s Avengers after March 31, but only until September 30. Then just through retail. The events like Red Room Takeover will still be intact. The last update will grant all the players cosmetics offered at the marketplace. Marvel’s Avengers Development Team stated that they perceive such a gesture as a way of saying thank you to everybody who has enjoyed the game. This is the future of Marvel’s Avengers.
