There are new EA SPORTS FC 24 details announced and this article plans to cover it all. From information surrounding gameplay, to new Ultimate Team changes, there is a lot to cover. FIFA has been a staple in the gaming world, considered the best sports game of all time. EA Sports has parted ways with FIFA and created their own standalone game which shares many of the factors that made FIFA so enjoyable throughout the years. Prior to the game’s upcoming release on September 29 2023, this is all of the confirmed details.
Gameplay
The most important aspect of every game is gameplay. EA plans to use HyperMotionV to increase the fluidity and smoothness of the gameplay. Their aim is to encapsulate just how liquid real life football is and translate that into gameplay format. All of the animations are influenced by real life professionals from prestigious clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Volumetric data taken from real life games played in the world’s most famous stadiums help capture the essence of how players move on the pitch. EA claims to have used machine learning to improve movement between Technical Dribble touches and to enhance the ML-Flow feature.
AcceleRATE 2.0 is a new and improved version of the AcceleRATE system that saw EA give players their own unique way of running that affected sprint-speed and animations.
A quick refresher on the base Acceleration Types:
- Controlled: Most players in EA SPORTS FC™ 24 will fall into the basic Controlled type, as they accelerate in a more balanced and controlled manner.
- Explosive: Shorter and more agile players who are quicker to start, but their acceleration rate slows down after the initial burst of acceleration.
- Lengthy: Taller and stronger players that start slow but thrive over longer distances once they get going.
In EA SPORTS FC™ 24, there are four new acceleration archetypes to represent more players’ movement styles:
- Controlled Explosive – 50% Explosive, 50% Controlled
- Mostly Explosive – 70% Explosive, 30% Controlled
- Controlled Lengthy – 50% Lengthy, 50% Controlled
- Mostly Lengthy – 70% Lengthy, 30% Controlled
Of course, a lot of factors determine what acceleration archetype a certain player has. These include variables such as weight, height, agility and balance. You find the full list of acceleration archetypes on EA SPORTS FC‘s official gameplay reveal patch notes.
Shielding the ball has levelled-up to new heights as it sees a new feature called ‘Shield Pushbacks’ where you can create space from your opponents by pushing them away from the ball. Shielding overall has gotten a nice overhaul as now the strong the player, the longer and more effective their shielding will be. On top of that, ball physics has also gotten a nice revamp with improved AI and physics.
A new unique feature has also been announced: first person gameplay! You will now be able to control your player and play on the pitch in first person. Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team has been THE game mode in FIFA throughout the years. It’s the most popular mode by far and has paved the way for many content creators such as; KSI, Danny Aarons and AJ3FIFA, to rise and make fun FIFA videos. In terms of big changes, the first is arguably the biggest. They are introducing a new progression system called ‘FC 24 evolution’.
This feature allows players to pick a football player of their choosing and upgrade their base stats. Essentially, you could take a mediocre silver card and turn him into a club legend. Granted, there are specific requirements you need to meet before ‘evolving’ your player, however, this added change is very much welcome and will bring nothing but added hype to the game.
Speaking of hype, dynamic images are extremely aesthetically pleasing, being able to lift a cards price slightly due to demand. If a card has a sick dynamic image, changes are, you enjoy seeing him in your starting line-up all of the time. In EA FC 24, dynamic images will now burst out of the card’s outline, truly putting emphasis on the word ‘dynamic’. The concept image put together by CriminalFIFA is a good example of how this new change might look like:
As you can see from the image above, the card layout has changed immensely. All of the stats are now on the bottom in a single row instead of it being two columns and three rows. This change is purely aesthetic and a matter of design choice. However, a change that affects gameplay and squad building is the removal of Position Modifiers. If a player can play in a certain position, simply placing them in that position will enable them to play there. This will help you achieve full chemistry in your teams a bit easier. Speaking of chemistry, icon chemistry has changed as they now give an automatic chemistry point to all leagues. UI is said to also change, including new shortcuts for smoother menu navigation.
In terms of in-game content, it is said that you can now pack different version of the same player in the same pack. This will lead to some very interesting pack-pulls. Ultimately, packs are what people look to obtain the most and it’s safe to say that the pack animation hasn’t changed much from what we are all used to. Additionally, there are two incredible Premier League players said to be having hero cards in EA SPORTS FC 24. The first is Liverpool legend Riise, and the second is Arsenal’s Kanu. It will be intriguing to see which other new heroes and icons make their way into the game.
On the topic of welcome additions to the game, ultimate team is now including women that you can add to your squad. They will play alongside men and will be included in promos and events. This is a great move that will definitely create some interesting dynamics not seen in real life. Now you can partner up Sam Kerr next to Haaland and not only score goals, but have a chemistry link between them!
Pre-ordering the ultimate edition of the game will reward players with up to 7 days early access, a bunch of FC points, a guaranteed TOTW 1 player and more. To view all the included bonuses, check the image below.
