Mortal Kombat 1, the newest addition to the legendary Mortal Kombat franchise, is nearing its release date. With less than a week remaining before its release, new news and information are being revealed regarding the game. One of these news is the removal of crossplay feature from the game. Netherrealm Studios has puzzled fans as they silently removed the crossplay multiplayer option from the game’s tags in Steam. Previously, if we had visited the game’s Steam page, the cross-platform multiplayer option could’ve been seen. Mortal Kombat 1’s Steam page looks something like this now:

The removal of cross-platform feature from the game is a more significant change to the game than it looks like, especially for players on PC platform. Initially, everything works well, but later on as the game gets old, players have to face longer queue times and are often put against players that are not of their skill range due to lack of player count.

The removal of crossplay is not great news, but all hope is not lost as some speculate that the alteration might be due to a mistake. This means that even if it isn’t available initially, there are chances that it will be added to the game features later on.
