Honkai: Star Rail has just released a new trailer centred on Bailu, a brand-new Healer character.
Following their pre-registration and final Beta announcements, Honkai: Star Rail has begun rolling out character trailers. This is to hype up and introduce players to the roster of units available in the game (something they also do in Genshin Impact). The first of these trailers is centred on the adorable Bailu, one of the healing units in Honkai: Star Rail.
Bailu is a small, mischievous lady with a tail and horns reminiscent of a Chinese dragon. She fights with both water and lightning which she uses to either damage her opponents or heal. The trailer shows Bailu quite morbidly defeating her enemies, only to heal them back to full health so she can escape the consequences of her actions.
The Honkai: Star Rail website gives us some more information about her. Bailu is from the Xianzhou Luofu, one of the six great flagships in the Xianzhou Alliance. She is a part of the Vidyadhara race and, thanks to her expertise in medicine, has the title “Healer Lady”. Bailu dislikes seeing people suffer, with her often curing ailments with her eyes closed as to not see people in discomfort or bringing sweets to help stave off the bitter taste of medicine.

Character Introduction – Bailu
Interestingly, this confirms that Bailu is a character with Lightning Erudition. This was seen briefly in the trailer as Bailu fought back and took out several of the Xianzhou guards with electrified attacks. There are a total of 7 Eruditions that characters can belong to which determine the elemental power they wield. There’s Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Quantum, Imaginary and Physical.
Bailu is likely to appear as one of the first 5-star characters in Honkai: Star Rail. Her splash art and character trailer are about equivalent in quality to 5-star units in Hoyoverse’s other title, Genshin Impact. We’ll find out more about Bailu, and the other characters in Honkai: Star Rail when the game is set to launch later this year.
