Announced back in October of 2021, Honkai: Star Rail is the latest installment of HoYoverse’s popular Honkai series. It takes place in space, several years after Honkai Impact 3rd, which makes it the game’s successor, but it will be its own story with its own narrative. The game intends to really explore the Honkai universe while continuing the spirit of the series, just in a new lens, and a refreshing gaming experience that fans will enjoy.
Players will take on the role of an amnesiac implanted with the Cancer of All Worlds, which is known as “Stellaron”. Stellarons are a mysterious, unknown matter that possess an unbridled source of power that can cause great destruction and corruption. Players will journey alongside passengers of the Astral Express, or the Trailblazers, and travel throughout the universe to eliminate the threat of mass destruction by the supreme beings that preside over the galaxy, the Aeons, as well as uncover the secrets behind their legends.
Although the release date for Honkai: Star Rail has yet to be announced, signups for the game’s third and final closed beta test will open January 24th, 2023 and close February 2nd 2023. Android and iOS users interested can register via the official website.
