Genshin Impact 4.7 Livestream Overview: New Endgame and Natlan Teaser

Although we've just come off the heels of the meaty Version 4.6, Genshin Impact Version 4.7, which was just revealed in a new Special Program by MiHoyo, is looking equally amazing. With three new playable characters joining the roster, the return of Dainslef and the continuation of the Archon Quest, a tease of Natlan, and even a new endgame mode, 4.7 is looking stacked.

Genshin Impact 4.7 Livestream Overview: New Endgame and Natlan TeaserAlthough Arlecchino’s reign is winding down with the end of Genshin Impact Version 4.6, the next version update, Version 4.7, is on the horizon and we got to see a sneak peek of what’s coming in the most recent Genshin Impact Special Program livestream. And it looks like 4.7 is shaping up to be quite the massive update, even if it isn’t adding a new location. We saw three new playable characters, the return of Dainslef for another lore-heavy Archon Quest, and, most excitingly, the introduction of a new endgame mode as well as a tease at Genshin Impact’s next major region, Natlan, the Nation of Pyro and War.

Before we go any further, though, here are the three Primogem redemption codes that were given out during the livestream. You can redeem all three on the official Hoyoverse Code Redemption Centre. Redeeming all three will net you a total of 300 Primogems as well as a variety of upgrade materials. However, act fast as they will expire after 24 hours.

Reunion at Long Last?

Reunion at Long Last?

First and foremost, Genshin Impact 4.7 will see the return of Dainslef as we embark on another one of his lore-filled annual quests in the continuation of the Fontaine Archon Quest. According to the 4.7 trailer, the new Archon Quest Interlude will feature Dainslef alongside several fan-favourite Fontaine characters such as Navia, Lyney, Furina, and the two headling acts of 4.7, Clorinde and Sigewinne.

This will likely be the last major main story update we get until we arrive in Natlan during Version 5.0.

Clorinde, Champion Duelist

Clorinde, Champion Duelist

The first new 5-star joining Genshin Impact in Version 4.7 is Fontaine’s Champion Duelist, Clorinde. She’s an Electro Sword DPS who, like the recently released Arlecchino, has a kit focused on Bond of Life mechanics. Clorinde’s most vital ability is her Elemental Skill which puts her into a unique attacking state where her NAs become fast pistol shots which build up a Bond of Life. In contrast, her Elemental Skill becomes a fierce lunge with her rapier, removing the Bond to deal additional damage and heal Clorinde. One of her Passiv Talents will even increase her Crit Rate when her Bond of Life is higher than a certain percentage of her maximum HP, making her a relatively easy unit to build.

Alongside Clorinde, 4.7 also sees the introduction of Sigewinne to the game. As a playable unit, the main nurse of the Fortress of Meropide is a 5-star Hydro Bow character whose kit is an interesting mix of HP-based damage and healing. Her Skill will summon a Bolstering Bubblebalm which will bounce around the battlefield, healing allies with each bounce and even trapping even smaller enemies who get caught in its path. Sigewinne’s Skill will also spawn Sourcewater Droplets like Hydro Traveler and Neuvillette, granting her a Bond of Life if she picks them up: shed the Bond of Life to give Sigewinne a fixed amount of Burst Energy and increased healing for the whole team.

Finally, 4.7 additionally adds a new Sumeru 4-star to the playable roster, Sethos. Sethos has two main playstyles depending on whether you prefer Charged Shots or Normal Attacks. His Aimed Shots have two stages of charge, with the second stage being his Shadowpiercing Shot. This extremely powerful arrow will pierce enemies: it takes a long time to charge up the Shadowpiercing Shot but, if you have any Energy, he will absorb a certain amount of it to accelerate the charge time. On the other hand, his Burst causes him to enter an enhanced state where his Normal Attacks become enhanced.

Clorinde will be the main star of Genshin Impact Version 4.7’s first phase alongside Alhaitham, with both characters being available on the Event Wish Banner as rate-up 5-stars. Additionally, Sethos will feature as a rate-up 4-star on both Clorinde and Alhaitham’s Event Wish.

Meanwhile, in phase 2 of Genshin Impact Version 4.7, Sigewinne will take over the Event Wish. She’ll be joined by the famed actress and previous Hydro Archon, Furina, who appears for her first rerun.

Since Genshin Impact launched, the Spiral Abyss has been the only form of dedicated endgame aside from exploring but, in Version 4.7, a new type of endgame content will be added. This is the Imaginarium Theatre, a new magical endgame mode which is distinct from the Spiral Abyss

The Imaginarium Theatre contains a series of challenges with strict conditions, only allowing characters of certain Elements to participate. For example, in one hall, you may only be allowed to use Electro, Anemo, or Pyro units, greatly limiting your potential pool of units. Don’t worry if you’re lacking units, though, as the Imaginarium Theatre will provide Trial Characters for all players to use so that they can participate, no matter how full their roster may be.

In terms of gameplay, the Imaginarium Theatre is a lot like a roguelike where Travelers will venture deeper into the Theatre with each success, choosing various rewards and paths as they do. Playable characters will also lose Vigor as they explore, forcing you to switch characters and team compositions on the fly. Of course, there are also a ton of rewards to earn, including plenty of Primogems each cycle and even Billets.

As for how often the Imaginarium Theatre will be available, it will be available once per month in an alternating cycle with the Spiral Abyss, which will also be updated so each cycle lasts a month instead of 2 weeks. Fortunately, there will be a Primogem increase to offset that time increase, with the total amount of Primo you can get going up from 600 to 800 per cycle.

Rogue-like Elements

Of course, Version 4.7 also has various other events for Travelers to partake in. The Mutual Security Enhancing Simulation is a strategic combat event where Travelers will control groups of enemy units in either Offensive or Defensive scenarios. You will embark with a group of enemies – from Slimes to Hilichurls to the Samurai of Inazuma – and hope to defend your home base from waves of oncoming foes or overwhelm an opposing target with brute force. This event will award plenty of Primogems as well as a new 4-star  Bow, the Cloudforged.

Other 4.7 events include the Endless Forms Most Martial, another combat event where you can only defeat enemies with specific Reactions or conditions. There’s also Spino Doubleblaster, a mini-game where you need to hit as many floating Target Balls as you can within a time limit to get rewards, and Record of Reflective Writing, a traversal-challenge-heavy Domain event similar to those in the Travelers past where you need to collect golden coins to get a variety of rewards.

In case you missed the announcements, the Resin Cap is going up from 160 to 200. Furthermore, additional enhancements and improvements to the Artifact Recommendation and Loadout are coming, as well.

Finally, as a little surprise, we got a brief look at Natlan, the next region arriving in Genshin Impact Version 5.0, which will likely come after Version 4.8 (and the annual summer event). Natlan is an arid rocky region and, according to this new gameplay, it looks like we’ll be able to transform into a variety of creatures to get around the landscape.

In the gameplay, we got to see the player take control of three distinct animals. The first was a large and very weird-looking mole-like creature, one who could dig through the rocky canyons of Natlan at high speeds, whereas the second seemed to be some kind of Vishap who could survive in either lush waters or scolding lava. Lastly, the final creature shown was a bipedal monster similar to the Jadeploom Terrorshroom and they look like our primary method of getting around Natlan’s vast landscape at speed.
