Another livestream showing off what’s coming in the next version update of Genshin Impact just finished airing. This time, we got a good look at what’s coming in Version 3.8, the next update hitting the game in a few weeks. We got a good look at the upcoming Event Wish Banners which feature a very special returning character, some new skins joining the game including one you can earn for free and the flagship event. We also saw another brief look at the next upcoming region, Fontaine, which will arrive in Version 4.0 later this year.

Before we go any further, here are the free Primogem redemption codes for the Genshin Impact 3.8 livestream. Each code will award you 100 Primogems, totalling 300 Primogems should you enter them all. Be sure to redeem them quickly as they will expire after the livestream ends.

First, let’s go over the Character Wish Banners running throughout Version 3.8. There aren’t any new characters joining the game in 3.8 but what we are getting is a much-awaited character rerun: after over a year and a half, Eula makes her return as one of the featured characters in this Version’s Event Wish. Phase 1 of 3.8 will feature Eula and Klee on the Character Event Wish. Then, in phase 2, players can look forward to summoning either Sangonomiya Kokomi or the Wanderer, who returns for his first rerun.

In conjunction with Klee’s appearance on the Character Event Wish, Version 3.8 will also introduce the first new set of skins since Version 3.4. This time, Klee and Kaeya are the recipients of the new outfits. Klee’s new skin is Blossoming Starlight and it takes after her mother, Alice, as she dons a cute set of witch-themed clothing, complete with a classic pointy hat. On the other hand, Kaeya’s Sailwind Shadow outfit is based on the traditional clothing of Sumeru, giving him a nice set of regal-looking clothes along with a few peacock feathers.

As for where you can get these new skins, the age-old traditions of Genshin Impact continue. Klee’s outfit will appear in the shop for Genesis Crystals, with the exact amount being determined by her skin’s rarity (as 5-star skins cost more than 4-star ones on account of them changing animations). Meanwhile, Kayea’s will be available to earn for free so long as you take part in the flagship event for Genshin Impact Version 3.8, with it joining the shop after the conclusion of 3.8.

Speaking of the flagship event, the main event in Genshin Impact 3.8 is Secret Summer Paradise. In it, players will take part in a variety of different events and activities taking place in Sumeru including a treasure hunt and a fun way to get around called the Choo-choo Cart. As we mentioned, playing this event will allow you to earn Kaeya’s Sailwind Shadow Outfit for free, similar to how Barbara and Fischl’s outfits were earned in previous versions. That’s not all, though, as you can also get a free copy of the 4-Star Cryo character Layla along with a bunch of Primogems and other rewards.

Joining Secret Summer Paradise are other events and activities which Travelers will undertake for a myriad of rewards. These include Primogems, materials for characters and weapons and more.

Lastly, we got another look at the following upcoming region in Genshin Impact: the land of justice and the Hydro Archon, Fontaine. This look at Fontaine was a lot more expansive than the last, revealing several key locations and a few notable mechanics. We got to see a series of buildings and structures that all look very fancy and high-class, surrounded by water and canals. There was also a more dingy underground area under investigation by a strange-looking creature, one unlike anything else in Genshin Impact

The livestream also showcased that we’ll be able to dive down into the waters of Fontaine, allowing us to go beneath the surface and explore the depths. Going from the video shown, we’ll be able to swim around as we please (seemingly with no oxygen restriction) and even be able to engage in some brief underwater combat sequences. We see a hint at what the moveset of the Hydro Traveler will be as they blast out a thin slice of water to free a trapped treasure chest.

Genshin Impact Version 3.8 launches on the 5th of July 2023.
