Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Gets New Update To Enhance Graphics, Fix BugsJapanese gaming giant Square Enix has released a new update for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2020 hit Final Fantasy VII Remake. In a new announcement, Square Enix says that the Version 1.020 update file will launch on March 21st and will include graphical and frame rate enhancements for the popular role-playing game, as well as fix bugs.

Some of the changes include correcting typos, adding more guidance during the “Mythril Mines” portion of the game, fixing the issue where two of Red XIII’s abilities became easily canceled during combat, solving the problem of enemies sometimes freezing up during combat, and resolving an unspecified glitch that occurs “on the map under certain conditions when controlling a character.”

Adding to the graphical and frame rate enhancements, the patch also added some visual tweaks, adding “sharp” and “soft” options to the screen output settings, and adding reverse camera settings to Chocobo flight while in gliding mode.

Lastly, the update makes key changes to some mini-games, such as also adding the aforementioned camera changes to the target mini-game and adding difficulty settings to the mini-games “Condor Fort” and “Gambit Gears.”

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth came out on February 29th on the PS5 and sold an estimated 260,000 copies during its launch, according to Famitsu.

Last week, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi said in an interview with Red Bull the positive feedback for the card battling mini-game Queen’s Blood was so overwhelming that the team is considering adding an update to it that would expand the number of cards.
