With the Version 2.4 Special Program looming, Hoyoverse has begun rolling out the drip marketing for Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5. The characters announced for 2.4 all appear to be from the Luofu and the same appears to be true of the newly revealed 2.5 unit as the fabled Feixiao is finally joining the playable roster.
According to the new drip marketing, Feixiao is our first 5-star Wind Hunt unit, a Path and Element combination currently only occupied by base Dan Heng. In her art, she valiantly wields both sword and bo-staff against an oncoming barrage of bullets and explosions with a very distinct outfit compared to other Xianzhou women. Additionally, Feixiao appears to be a Foxian, albeit one who lacks the signature gigantic tails the race is commonly known for.
“The Xianzhou Yaoqing’s Merlin’s Claw and one of the Seven Arbiter-Generals. Her personality is unrestrained and frank, dashing and straightforward.
She is skilled in all forms of martial arts and has honed herself into a supreme weapon. She is widely adored by Xianzhou soldiers and civilians alike as “The Great General.”
However, she bears the burden of the Moon Rage affliction. If she were to hunt down all the abominations in her limited lifetime — Then the only enemy Feixiao has would be herself.”
Feixiao’s Character Bio
According to the lore, Feixiao is one of the leading figures in the Xianzhou Yaoqing and commonly goes by the nickname The Merlin Claw. Alongside Jing Yuan is also one of the Seven Arbiter Generals of the Xianzhou, powerful fighters of extreme military prowess who have bestowed Spirits of the Hunt which they may control (the Lightning Lord in the case of Jing Yuan). As revealed in the Penacony storyline, the Arbiter Generals are even considered Emanators of the Hunt. This connection may give a hint at what her overall playstyle will be like.
In case you were caught off-guard by the terminology, drip marketing is a phrase used for gacha games which refers to images or teasers used to promote or showcase new characters before they are officially revealed. With all of Hoyoverse’s games – Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero – drip marketing for new units tends to release a full version before they become playable, allowing players to save up if they want to pull.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5 isn’t set to release until early to mid-September, with Version 2.4 – which is bringing both Yunli and Jiaoqiu – scheduled for late July.
