The next version update for Honkai: Star Rail was just revealed and detailed in the 1.5 Special Program Livestream. The Special Program for version 1.5 – humorously titled “The Crepuscule Zone” – gave us all a good look at the upcoming version’s worth of content, including three brand characters who are becoming playable, an involved flagship event with a free limited Light Cone, updates to the Simulated Universe and Memory of Chaos and a ton more.
There’s a lot to dig into and sift through, so here’s everything major you need to know from the Honkai: Star Rail 1.5 Livestream.
Before we dive into the events and additions coming in version 1.5 of Honkai Star Rail, here are the three livestream redemption codes. Each code redeemed will net you 100 Stellar Jade and several different level-up materials. Be sure to redeem them quickly, though, as they have a very limited window for redemption.

Beginning with the most important part of any Honkai: Star Rail update, three brand new characters are joining the playable roster in 1.5. The first is a new 5-star Abundance character by the name of Huohuo, a trainee Judge in the Ten Lords Commission on the Xianzhou Luofu. Despite a fearful and anxious disposition, Huohuo earned her place as a Judge due to her tendency to lure in evil spirits, including the one currently possessing her tail. In gameplay, Huohuo is our first Wind Abundance character and she can use her Skill or Talent to effectively restore HP for her allies. Meanwhile, her Ultimate allows her to act as a pseudo-harmony unit, buffing the ATK and Energy of specific allied units.
The other featured 5-star for 1.5 is the ever-graceful Argenti, a key member of the Beauty Knights and follower of the Aeon of Beauty. Argenti is Star Rail’s first Physical Erudition character, meaning that he specialises in AoE and multi-target damage as opposed to single-target damage. In fact, his skills and abilities revolve heavily around this, with his Talent granting him additional Energy gains depending on how many enemies he hits with his Skill. A special gimmick unique to Argenti is that he can use his Ultimate at a lower Energy cost: the more Energy you spend, the higher Argenti’s damage will be.
Hanya, Punisher of Sin
Lastly, Hanya is a new Physical 4-star joining the playable ranks. As a Physical Harmony unit, Hanya works under the Ten Lords Commission with her sister, using her painterly abilities to read and record the karmic sins of those she judges, including the people lost to Mara. Hanya’s main gameplay gimmick is the ability to inflict the Burdened state upon enemies with her Skill, increasing all damage dealt against the target and restoring a Skill Point after a set amount of attacks have been made. Her Ultimate also boosts the SPD and ATK of a single ally.
Of course, if you want some (or all) of these new characters, you’ll have to choose wisely about which banners to pull on. In phase 1 of Honkai Star Rail 1.5, Huohuo will be available as the featured 5-star unit on the Bloom in Gloom Character Warp, with Dan Heng (Hunt), Arlan (Destruction) and Serval (Erudition) as rate-up 4 stars. Meanwhile, in phase 2, Argenti is sharing the spotlight with Silver Wolf. Both Warps share the same featured 4 stars and you have a chance of obtaining the new 4-star Harmony unit Hanya alongside Lynx (Abundance) and Asta (Harmony).

Outside of new characters, the biggest thing coming with version 1.5 is another Trailblaze Continuance. This time, instead of the snowy wilds of Belobog, the Express Crew will be taking a visit to the most haunted depths of the Xianzhou Luofu alongside some familiar faces, including the streamer extraordinaire Guinaifen and the ever-helpful Sushang as well as the newly introduced Huohuo and Hanya. After an incident involving the Creation Furnace lets loose a host of fearsome spirits known as Heliobi, you must help the Judges exorcise and eradicate these demons.
The Trailblaze Continuance is also linked to the flagship event of the version update, A Foxian Tale of the Haunted. Players will be expected to update and report on new ghostly findings through Guinaifen’s social media feed or take on various heliobi scattered around the Luofu in combat, with bountiful rewards for those who overcome this task. Additionally, an exclusive event Abundance Light Cone called Hey, Over Here will be available for completing limited-time missions in this event.

Of course, A Foxian Tale of the Haunted isn’t the only new event coming in HSR 1.5. In the Boulder Town Martial Exhibition event, you’ll return to the dingy ring of the Belobog Fight Club to take on more opponents for glory, fame and Stellar Jade. Meanwhile, in Stellar Shadowseeker, March 7th requests your help in restoring some of her prized photographs by locating the lost objects within her frozen memories.
If that wasn’t all, Herta is adding World 8 to the Simulated Universe, giving Trailblazers another set of new Planar Ornmanets collects and bosses to compete against. The final hurdle for SU World 8 appears to the be sword saint progeny of the Luofu and Jing Yuan’s apprentice, Yangxing. This is alongside the new Cavern of Corrosion: Path of Darkness, which awards the new Ashblazing Grand Duke and Prisoner in Deep Confinement Relic sets. Oh, and a new edition of the Gift of Odyssey log-in campaign will also go live, awarding diligent Trailblazers 10 free pulls for simply logging in consecutively.
Finally, some nice quality-of-life changes are coming with the 1.5 update, the most significant of which have to do with the Memory of Chaos. When attempting a floor in the MoC, you will now have the option to restart an attempt whenever you want, allowing you to quickly get back into action if something goes wrong: what’s even better is that you can restart the second team without erasing the progress of the first team, which should make runs much smoother. Other smaller QoL features include new Character Ascension and team composition-exclusive voice lines and a roster in the Astral Express which will catalogue all of the friends who have previously visited the Express.
