Emilie Drip Marketing Released for Genshin Impact 4.8

Drip marketing for Genshin Impact Version 4.8, likely the last Fontaine patch before we arrive at Natlan in Version 5.0, has been released, revealing a new Dendro character by the name of Emilie. As a master perfumer from Fontaine, Emilie has been known about for some time but this is her first proper appearance and our first look at her design and element.

Emilie Drip Marketing Released for Genshin Impact 4.8

The drip marketing for Genshin Impact Version 4.8, likely the final Fontaine Version update before we reach the flaming shores of Natlan, the Nation of War, has finally been unveiled by Hoyoverse, where they’ve revealed our next playable character to be Emilie, a famous perfumer from Fontaine.

Emilie is a new Dendro unit, an element which hasn’t received a new character since Version 3.7 when Kirara joined the roster. She’s also the first Dendro character from Fontaine which most players may discern from her ostentatious style of dress. As for the contents of the drip marketing itself, it doesn’t give much away in regards to Emilie’s weapon of choice or what rarity she is. However, as the only new unit coming to Genshin Impact in Version 4.8, she’ll likely end up being a 5-star unit, perhaps one belonging to either the Polearm or Catalyst weapon category.

In terms of her playstyle, her position as a perfumer allows her some unique opportunities with the Dendro element, which is easily the most complex and interlinked element in terms of possible Reactions. Between Burn, Burgeon, Bloom, Aggravate, and more, there are plenty of domains where Emilie could shine and stand apart from her fellow Dendro units.

Emilie has been mentioned a handful of times by other characters such as Chiori and Chevreuse, with the former discussing the pair’s business relations – Emilie stocks some of her perfumes in Chioriya Boutique – and the latter mentioning how Emilie’s chemical knowhow has helped her with various cases in the past. Her interactions with other characters make her seem very intelligent and graceful, something that’s hopefully portrayed well in her kit.

In case you’re unaware of the terminology, drip marketing is a term used to refer to promotional images that gacha games release before an official reveal or announcement. MiHoyo and Hoyoverse tend to release drip marketing for their characters a full version before they are officially unveiled at their associated version’s Special Program. This is to help players decide on who they want to spend on and who to save for at least a month in advance.

Genshin Impact Version 4.8 will likely be released in the middle of July, whereas Version 4.7, which features Clorinde and Sigewinne as new featured 5-stars, goes live on June 5th.
