One of Twitch’s most high-profile streamers Herschel “Guy” Beahm, aka Dr Disrespect has been banned from the platform – and reports say this one is permanent. Early this week Twitch provided an update to the community stating that they would be cracking down on sexual abuse and harassment involving Twitch streamers.
Although it has not been made clear yet if the ban is related to any sexual abuse or harassment accusations, Twitch provided CNN reporter Shannon Liao, with a statement regarding the ban.
As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.
According to esports reporter Rod Breslau, Dr Disrespect’s ban is permanent and he will not be returning to the platform.

Over the past few days, Twitch has removed a list of streamers from their service who have been accused of sexual abuse and harassment including iAmSp00n, BlessRNG, WarwitchTV, and DreadedCone.
