An interesting collaboration between one of the biggest FPS games on the market and one of the most popular gacha games in the world has been confirmed with the announcement of a Destiny 2 x Arknights crossover. The announcement came at the end of the recent 4th Anniversary Celebration livestream for Arknights CN. We only got a small shot of a ruined building, before some iconic Destiny music kicks in and a Ghost hovers into the frame.
On the surface, this crossover seems very random as the two games share very little in common. Destiny 2 is an FPS loot-shooter with MMO elements, where undead space wizards called Guardians traverse the system in search of new guns to shoot. Then we have Arknights, a F2P tower defence gacha game where you control a strange cast of characters. Both are beloved titles in their respective communities, but seeing them come together is quite surprising.
A Ghost Appears
Neither title is a stranger to collaborations with other gaming franchises, however. Arknights has previously hosted everything from Rainbow Six Siege to Monster Hunter to even the WWF and KFC. Meanwhile, Destiny 2 has recently ramped up collaboration efforts over the last year. They’ve had crossovers with Fortnite, Among Us, Fall Guys and Assassin’s Creed.
How the crossover will be handled in each game is still up in the air. Arknights crossovers usually involve special character skins and outfits for select Operators that can be purchased Orignite Prime. On the other hand, Destiny 2 crossovers have had several forms: Fortnite and Assassin’s Creed both bought a new Universal Ornament set for each of Destiny’s three classes, but the Among Us and Fall Guys collabs were much smaller affairs.
No date was given for the crossover so keep your eyes peeled for more information in the future.
