After a tumultuous month, the Destiny 2 Team Twitter account has confirmed that a new hotfix will be coming to Destiny 2 on November 5th. This hotfix will patch the abnormal perk weighting bug that has unknowingly plagued the game for a significant time. In addition to the fix, Bungie also announced a series of community events to help Guardians get their hands on some of the affected weapons.
Firstly, from November 19th to December 3rd, the Vesper’s Host Dungeon will have double drops active on both Normal and Master difficulty, where each encounter will drop both weapons and armour. Secondly, and more interestingly, from November 19th, Banshee will have a small collection of special weapons for sale. These weapons curated rolls of key weapons most negatively affected by the perk weighting bug. As of right now, there isn’t a set deadline for these weapons but you should grab them as soon as possible.
In total, Banshee will sell six curated God Roll weapons from various sources, including Competitive and Dungeons:

- Compass Rose Solar Shotgun | Corkscrew Rifling + Light Mag + Snapshot Sights + Slideshot + Handling MW
- Hothead (Adept) Arc Rocket Launcher | Hard Launch + Impact Casing + Tracking Module + Clown Cartridge + Reload MW
- VS Chill Inhibitor Stasis Heavy Grenade Launcher | Countermass + Spike Grenades + Envious Arsenal + Bait and Switch + Reload MW

Of the six weapons Banshee will be selling, the most desirable is easily the God Roll VS Chill Inhibitor, the Vesper’s Host Dungeon Grenade Launcher which sparked the entire perk weighting investigation to begin with. Envious Arsenal paired with Bait and Switch make VS Chill Inhibitor one of the strongest and most synergistic boss DPS weapons in the game and all players should try and grab it while they can.
The Destiny 2 Team account did note that to claim Dungeon weapons from Banshee (namely the Indebted Kindness, which drops from Warlord’s Ruin, as well as VS Chill Inhibitor, which drops from Vesper’s Host), players will require ownership of that associated Dungeon and have completed it at least once.
The perk weighting bug was first discovered in early October with the launch of the Vesper’s Host Dungeon. Players farming for a VS Chill Inhibitor with Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch became concerned when the roll wasn’t appearing in the top eight most used rolls on Light.gg, despite the roll’s power and popularity. After a community-led investigation, it was discovered that certain perk pairings were weighted, giving them a significantly increased chance of appearing compared to other options. Bungie has since confirmed the issue and they are planning a deep dive Dev Article into the whole perk weighting bug at a later date.
