The Elder Scrolls VI, the sixth main installment of the Elder Scrolls franchise, has been teased officially for the first time during Bethesda's Press Conference at E3 this year.
The wait is over, The wait has COMMENCED
For many gamers, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was like a dream come true. A game so massive and original in content, it took the world by storm in 2011 and stole the hearts of both hardcore and casual gamers alike. Not long after its release, fans were so impressed by the sheer joy Skyrim brought upon them, that speculations for a sequel, a sixth Elder Scrolls, were to be encountered at some point.
As of today, gamers all over the globe have been highly anticipating any news regarding the Elder Scrolls VI for quite some time, as it's been almost seven years since the release of Skyrim and apart for some remasters, ports and upgrades, no new Elder Scrolls title seemed to be in the making as of yet. Instead, The Elder Scrolls went Virtual Reality, got ported to Nintendo Switch, and had several spinoffs presented at E3 this year as well (such as The Elder Scrolls Blades, a mobile RPG-Action-Adventure/Builder, and additions to The Elder Scrolls Online).
The wait for the first announcement is over, as Bethesda saved the best for last in their E3 Press Conference this year, teasing a new Elder Scrolls VI, but showing off as little as they could. Apart from a somewhat dynamic graphical impression, a typical Elder Scrolls soundtrack and the title of the franchise, no other information has been given, whatsoever.
Furthermore, The Elder Scrolls VI will take some time to be released, as Bethesda stated it would be a title for 'beyond the future' in their Press Conference. Most likely, we won't see it earlier than 2020.
Nonetheless, the announcement is worth appreciation and will build up the hype for the new Elder Scrolls, even if it'd take a couple of years to finish since it's an eagerly anticipated game for the entire community.
Apart from The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda also announced an entirely new franchise called Starfield. Starfield, like The Elder Scrolls VI, only had a short teaser to show for it, without any additional information as of yet. However, it will release in the future, before The Elder Scrolls VI, but after any of the other announced titles by Bethesda at this year's E3.
All with all, the gaming community seems to be extremely excited to hear about The Elder Scrolls VI at long last, but the community seems to be aware that it won't be a title for the coming year.
