Assassin’s Creed Mirage To Release Earlier Than Expected

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Mirage has pushed up it's release date. You'll now be able to jump into 9th century Baghdad as Basim a week early. The game was slated to be released on October 12th, 2023 but has been moved to October 5th, 2023.

Assassin's Creed Mirage To Release Earlier Than ExpectedThere’s plenty of anticipation for the upcoming entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and fans of Ubisoft’s long-running series won’t have to wait as long as they were expecting. The release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been moved up from October 12th to October 5th. In a Twitter post, Ubisoft stated the game has “gone gold” and will be releasing a week earlier than planned.

Devs Give Mirage Their Golden Approval

Going gold simply means that the devs are putting their sticker of confidence in the final product and that is why they are releasing earlier than scheduled. In an age when many studios are updating their feeds with notifications of delays or even shipping out games when they are not quite up to par, this comes as a good sign to those that are hoping to play Mirage without any issues. Ubisoft has also made the news recently for statements on Mirage, saying the game will not have any DLC Content and will not include microtransactions for XP or weapons. This comes as quite the shock for fans as the last three games; Assassin’s Creed Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, have all had extra content at the forefront of the game’s experience. However, the game will include microtransactions for cosmetic items.

Mirage will also come in a more toned down scope compared to the previous massive open-world games. Odyssey spanned the entire country of Greece, but Mirage will be more focused on the city of 9th century Baghdad. Another point of contention with the huge open-world games was they were filled with tons of content, so much so that completion times were estimated around 100 hours of total gameplay. This approach caused many fans to find the experience tedious. Mirage is rumored to be about 20 hours of gameplay which may help lapsed fans find it more approachable than previous installments. Ubisoft has reiterated during development that they are aiming to make Mirage similar to the older games of the franchise such as the original Assassin’s Creed or Revelations

As of August 14th, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will release on October 5th for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
