The Sims 4: Copperdale Guide

With High School Years being the latest Expansion for The Sims 4, Copperdale is the newest world introduced to the game. Sometimes a new world can be overwhelming, so this guide will show you everything you need to know, including new homes, businesses, Sims, and points of interest.

The Sims 4 Copperdale Guide

With every major Expansion or Game Pack in The Sims 4, a new world is introduced. The High School Years Expansion is no different, adding the world of Copperdale to The Sims 4, home to the brand-new High School Lot. There’s more to Copperdale than just the school though. There’s plenty to see and do, such as the amusements at the Plumbite Pier, as well as grabbing a bubbly tea and the latest fashion trends at ThrifTea.

While exploring a new world such as Copperdale in The Sims 4 is exciting, it can also feel overwhelming, and you probably have lots of questions before you dive in. Are there any empty Lots I can build on? How many pre-made homes are there? Who lives there? What is there to do? What collectibles can I find? How big is it? How many neighborhoods does it have? The questions could go on… and that is what this guide is for, to answer all these questions for you. This guide will detail every Lot, every Sim who resides there, what there is to do, and the collectibles you can find in Copperdale.

The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack is now available for PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.

Lots and Neighborhoods

One of the first things many players of The Sims 4 will probably want to find out about Copperdale is about the Lots. How many there are, how big they are, if there are any empty plots, what the pre-built homes are like, and if there are any buildings or amenities. That’s why this has been covered first in this Sims 4 guide to Copperdale. Since this is a world guide, it makes sense to cover all the Lots first, both residential and commercial Lots. You’ll find out things like the size of the Lots, their prices, and any notable details that you should know about. This section is divided up into neighborhoods, and we’ll explore exactly what you can expect to find there.

Copperdale is broken up into 3 different neighborhoods: Plumbite Cove, Prescott Square, and Rockridge Heights. Each features different Lots, facilities, activities, and more, so let’s see what each has to offer.

Copperdale is split into 3 neighborhoods: Plumbite Cove, Prescott Square, and Rockridge Heights.

Plumbite Cove

Plumbite Cove is probably the biggest neighborhood in Copperdale. It’s main attraction is the Plumbite Pier, aka the amusement park! Not only this but it’s home to 5 Lots; an empty Lot, an empty pre-made house, a pre-built home with a pre-made family, a rental Lot, and a park.

BridgeCreek Drive

Lot Type: Residential

Lot Size: 30 x 30

Price: §117,197

Bedrooms: 5

Bathrooms: 4

Occupied: Yes (Price Household)

This is a big beautiful home situated in picturesque Plumbite Cove. It is by default already occupied by the Price family, but you can boot them out and move your own Sims in if you so wish. This is the perfect place to live if you have a big family.

This home has 2 floors but no basement, but there’s plenty of space. It’s got a wonderful garden with lots of potential, and verandas to sit out on. This property is also fenced in, so you have some more privacy.

On the ground floor, there is a big open living space that includes the living room, dining room, and kitchen. In separate rooms is a bathroom with both a bathtub and shower, and a decent-sized bedroom.

We must talk about the separate building. You could convert this into a workspace, but the pre-made design has it as the perfect teenager’s den. There’s plenty of space to deck it out with furniture and such. Plus, this building has its own bathroom! If you have a teen Sim who wants their own space, this place is perfect.

There’s more upstairs, including 3 more bedrooms. There are also 2 bathrooms up here; one off the landing, and another connected to one of the bedrooms.

This is probably one of the best homes in Copperdale – but as with the common Sims 4 issue, if you do wish to live here, be forewarned that it is pricey, so it may be out of reach of your starter Sims (without cheats, that is).

Hillside Haven

Lot Type: Rental

Lot Size: 30 x 20

Price: §814 per day

Bedrooms: 4

Bathrooms: 1

If any of your Sims want to have a vacation in Copperdale, this Lot has you covered. There’s plenty of room for plenty of Sims, with 4 bedrooms (2 of these having bunk beds). It’s very homely and cozy, so there’s no reason why your Sims shouldn’t have a comfortable stay here.

On the ground floor, you have a living room with a bar, a small dining area, a bigger dining room, a kitchen, and a hallway. Outside on the porch, you’ve got a barbeque and seating area.

Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, 2 with bunk beds and the other with a double, so there’s room for up to 6 Sims to sleep here. There’s a bathroom with a shower tub as well. There’s also a balcony where you can enjoy the view.

Let’s not neglect to mention the basement. You may have noticed that the living room on the ground floor doesn’t have a TV. Fear not, as you can find it down here, complete with plush chairs, making a very comfy cinema room.

LaSuli Point

Lot Type: Residential

Lot Size: 20 x 15

Price: §18,692

Bedrooms: 2

Bathrooms: 1

Occupied: No

This is a small starter home, one of two in Copperdale, a must for any Sims 4 world. It might not look like much on the outside, but inside it’s pretty cozy, and there’s always room for expansion despite the small Lot size. Plus, it’s practically right next door to Plumbite Pier, close to all the fun and action.

For this rustic little house, you’ve got everything you need; an open-plan living-kitchen-dining space, plus a bathroom with a shower (but you can easily swap it for a shower/bath combo), and 2 bedrooms. The outside is also pleasantly landscaped, with flowers and trees, and there are 2 garden pots if you fancy growing some plants.

It may be small but it’s surprisingly spacious, so you shouldn’t turn your nose up at this place for a starter home. Plus, the Plumbite Pier is very close by, and it’s right by the lake, so there are some upsides to this house.

Little Falls Nook

Lot Type: Residential

Lot Size: 20 x 20

Price: §1,500

Occupied: No

This is the one and only empty Lot in all of Copperdale, ideal for Sims 4 builders, if you want to build something from scratch here. By default, it’s a residential Lot, but you can transform it into anything you like. It’s not an enormous 64 x 64 Lot, by any means, but there’s still plenty of room to build something special. It’s also situated in a tranquil spot by a stream, plus you’re right next door to a large swimmable area of water. Just keep in mind that it might be a bit of a walk to some of the places around Plumbite Cove, such as the Pier.

Little Falls Nook is initially empty, but you can build or place whatever you like here, such as this custom-built house.

Little Falls Nook is initially empty, but you can build or place whatever you like here, such as this custom-built house.

Totter Park

Lot Type: Park

Lot Size: 50 x 40

Price: §10,879

If you had to choose between Totter Park and Plumbite Pier, you’d probably go for the pier, but don’t think this large park doesn’t have anything to offer. There are lots of trees to run around along the paths, as well as benches to sit on and take a breath. There’s also a pavilion with a park bench to sit at, a chess table to play at and improve your Logic Skill, a monkey bars set, and a small restroom block. This park is worth checking out if you have a quiet moment and want a little peace.

Plumbite Pier

This isn’t based on its own Lot, but this is something that cannot go unnoted in this Sims 4 guide for Copperdale. If you’re dropping in on Copperdale, this is something you must visit at least once, and you’ll probably want to come back again. Plumbite Pier basically serves as the amusement park in Copperdale (a first for The Sims 4), complete with rides and food. It’s quite a big place with plenty to do. It’s a great place for a date, or for a group outing, or if your Sim is bored and wants to get out for a bit.

Plumbite Pier, a must-visit place when you go to Copperdale.

Plumbite Pier, a must-visit place when you go to Copperdale.

The pier has 3 rides that your Sims can actually go on: the Ferris Wheel, Haunted House, and Tunnel of Love. Locating these attractions is very easy; you can’t miss them. While each of these rides look different, the interactions with them are all the same. You can either ride alone, or with another Sim (and just one other Sim; you cannot ride together in a group). Couples can also WooHoo on the rides. It appears that riding the rides doesn’t provide as much Fun as you would expect, nor does it add any Moodlets. You also can’t actually see your Sims on the rides.

There’s more to the pier than just the rides. You can find an ice cream stand that sells 5 different flavors for 10 Simoleons a cone. The flavors available are chocolate, cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, strawberry, and vanilla. You can also find a bubbly tea stand, and if you have The Sims 4 Seasons Expansion installed, there will be a seasonal food & beverage stand on the pier.

It’s not just food that’s available. There’s plenty of seating and tables around the pier, as well as chess tables. You must also check out the giant statue of the Womp Womp, the mascot of Copperdale. There’s also a photo booth if you want to take some snaps. Plus, if you have Seasons, there will be either an ice or a roller skating rink set up.

There’s also a fishing point to the side of the pier, if you fancy some fishing instead of riding the rides.

Other Notable Places

There are a few other points of interest in Plumbite Cove. Near a bridge, you’ll find a sort of camp complete with a sofa and some old rugs. This could serve as a hangout for teenagers (or children, or anyone, really).

There’s also a pavilion set along a pier – not the Plumbite Pier, but a different one. You’ll see it stretching out along the water. This is a cool secluded spot if you want to admire the view (and a view it is; Copperdale is a stunning place, like a lot of worlds in The Sims 4) or spend some romantic time alone with a loved one. Just note that it’s quite a walk here and away from any amenities, so keep this in mind so that your Sims aren’t cut short if they need to seek a bathroom or their energy is low or they’re in a hurry to get home or to work.

A small note, but behind Little Falls Nook (aka the empty Lot), you’ll find a beautiful vista area, complete with a stream, rocks, and a meadow of purple flowers. It’s a great spot for taking photos, or for a bit of privacy, peace and quiet.

You can also go swimming in the wild waters around Plumbite Cove. The water around Plumbite Pier is available to swim in. You can also take a dip in the water near Little Falls Nook.

Prescott Square

Prescott Square is home to the famous ThrifTea, a store that sells bubbly tea and also serves as a fashion thrift store for trendsetting Sims. It’s practically the hub of this area, but there are other places to note as well, such as a library if you need to place to study, plus some homes, both occupied and uninhabited.

Prescott Square, the hub of Copperdale.

Golden Peak

Lot Type: Residential

Lot Size: 30 x 30

Price: §130,535

Bedrooms: 4

Bathrooms: 3

Occupied: Yes (Prescott Household)

This is probably the grandest home in all of Copperdale – and it’s also home to the principal of Copperdale High School (yes, she is a playable Sim!) As noted, it is already occupied, but that doesn’t stop you from kicking the principal and her family out of their home and moving in another one of your families. This large dwelling has 4 floors, the third floor consisting of the tower room!

Let’s start at the bottom with the ground floor. There’s a nicely landscaped garden for your Sims to enjoy, and a porch. Inside, you’ve got an entrance foyer, living room, bathroom, kitchen, dining room, and study.

If you go up a floor, you’ll find 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The far back bedroom (decked out in blue) has a door leading out onto the balcony.

If you go up the ladder located on the landing, you’ll climb up into the tower room. It’s a small space but a great hideaway for teenagers.

Let’s not forget the basement, which breaks off into 2 rooms (3 if you count the hallway). The Prescott’s have a workshop and personal gym in these rooms, but you can do whatever you want with this space. You could create a teenager’s den or add in a party room or extra living room, or maybe an indoor underground garden. Get creative, this is The Sims!

Lakeview Library

Lot Type: Library

Lot Size: 20 x 20

Price: §67,626

This 2-floor library is a great place to study, whether you’re a teen studying for exams or doing homework, or if you just want somewhere to chill and read books or use the computers. This is also a really great place to meet and mingle with other Sims. It can get quite busy here! (Note for younger Sims: If they’re looking to make some new friends, lots of children come here, so make sure to drop in on here.)

Copperdale’s library is your standard Sims 4 library. On the ground floor, you have tables, chairs, and bookshelves, plus there’s a restroom in the corner. Upstairs, you’ve got more bookshelves, plus a kid’s corner, computers, a chess table, and comfy chairs to sit on.

It’s easy to lose time in the library, and it’s right next door to the park. It’s a good place to both study and meet other Sims, so make sure to drop in now and again.

ThrifTea

Lot Type: Thrift and Bubble Tea Store

Lot Size: 20 x 15

Price: §45,216

If you’re visiting Copperdale, you must drop in on this unique store. This type of Lot is brand-new to The Sims 4 High School Years, along with the High School Lot. This place is called ThrifTea for a reason: because here you can get a cup of bubbly tea, and it’s a place where you can put fashions together.

If your Sim is a trendsetter and wants to put together some new fashion looks to sell, this will be your go-to place.

On the other hand, if you just want to grab a bubbly tea, you can do so by purchasing them at the stand (if the serving assistant is there, that is).

ThrifTea is a cool hangout in Copperdale, for all Sims but mainly teenagers. You should definitely check this place out at some point. Also, take a look around the side of the store on the wall for the Depop mural. Taking a selfie of your Sim with this behind them should be on their bucket list.

Town Square Terrace

Lot Type: Residential

Lot Size: 20 x 15

Price: §20,790

Bedrooms: 1

Bathrooms: 1

Occupied: No

This is a tiny starter home situated in Prescott Square. It’s a little more expensive than LaSuli Point in Plumbite Cove, but it’s not somewhere to overlook. This house is uniquely set along a raised boardwalk and is 2-floors high.

On the ground floor, you’ll find a living space and combined kitchen/dining room. Step through the sliding doors out onto a small fenced-in courtyard that belongs to you. It’s a nice little space that you can spruce up to make your own.

Upstairs, there’s just one bedroom and one bathroom, and a balcony you can walk out onto.

When you compare this home to LaSuli Point, you may think you’re getting a better deal there instead, but this house does have potential for expansion, and it’s a good place for a single Sim or a couple, particularly if you’re just starting out.

Water Tower Way

Lot Type: Residential

Lot Size: 20 x 15

Price: §67,541

Bedrooms: 3

Bathrooms: 3

Occupied: Yes (Harjo Household)

This is the other occupied home in Prescott Square, owned by the Harjo family. You can, of course, move them out if you like, if you don’t want to play as them or want to move some other Sims. This house is worth checking out. It’s not quite as grand as the Prescott’s mansion, but it’s still a large quaint house, although don’t expect to be able to afford it if you’re playing as starter Sims.

It has 3 floors and some outdoor space. Again, there’s a wonderfully-landscaped garden that’s fenced-in for some much-needed privacy.

Let’s start with the very bottom underground, the basement. This consists of a teen’s bedroom and their own private bathroom, but if you wish, you can turn it into something else.

On the ground level, there’s a living room, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom, the usual downstairs essentials for any home, and very cozy and homely.

Go up the flight of stairs and you’ll find 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a landing that you could use as, say, a study (as the Harjo’s have) or whatever you please.

This home is a great place to live and isn’t terribly expensive, but your starter Sims will have to save up their Simoleons to be able to afford to move in.

Other Notable Places

Prescott Square may not have the excitement of the amusement park at Plumbite Pier, but don’t think that it’s a dull place. There’s a park situated in front of the library, a pleasant place for all Sims to visit. It’s even got a gazebo and pond, as well as the usual park features such as the monkey bars and chess tables.

If you follow a path up a hill, you’ll find an abandoned cabin by the cliffside. You cannot enter or interact with this place (sadly), but if you hang around late at night, you might get a visit from a spectral Sim.

There’s also a small cemetery by the library, but there’s not much you can do here. You can also find a picnic area by the water, the perfect place to grill up some food while looking at the breathtaking views.

The Square also has other useful features such as seating, vending machines, and at least one toilet block (located near the library). You can also find a seating area with a seasonal food/drinks stall (Seasons Expansion only).

Rockridge Heights

Rockridge Heights is home to Copperdale High School, a brand-new and unique type of Lot introduced to The Sims 4 thanks to High School Years. This is where your teen Sims now go to school similar to an active career. This doesn’t mean that the school and this neighborhood is out-of-bounds to anyone who isn’t a teen. You’re free to visit this place, but with this area being solely dedicated to the high school, it’s highly unlikely that any non-teen Sims will have a reason to visit.

Rockridge Heights, an area dedicated to Copperdale High School.

Rockridge Heights, an area dedicated to Copperdale High School.

Copperdale High School

Lot Type: High School

Lot Size: 64 x 64

Price: §196,581

If you have a teen, this is where they go to high school, regardless of which Sims 4 world they live in, whether it’d be Copperdale, Henford-on-Bagley, or Oasis Springs. Since you cannot create another High School Lot in any world, this is the only place all teens will go to. This doesn’t stop you from giving Copperdale High a makeover though, if you wish. The Sims 4 gives you licence to be creative!

Copperdale High is a huge place, probably one of the biggest Lots you’ll play in The Sims 4. This doesn’t mean that its layout is overly complicated though. It’s pretty easy to navigate the school so you won’t feel lost or overwhelmed. It’s also not so big that it takes forever to get from A to B, including classes. The high school has 3 levels, including a basement. It also has an enormous playing field right next door and a large front entrance leading to the road. The high school is so vast that the whole neighborhood is built around it.

Here’s a detailed plan of the school by level, starting with the ground floor. There are 2 classrooms, a cafeteria, restrooms, a sort of library, the principal’s office, and the halls and main foyer. There are doors at the back that lead onto a patio area, complete with seating and vending machines. This is where you’ll spend most of your time while your Sim is at school.

The classrooms are situated at opposite ends of the school. Your Sim will go to one of these for class. You’ll know which classroom you’re in because of the flashing whiteboard. Your Sim will be joined by their fellow classmates. Across the school at the same time, you’ll see a class going on in the other room.

The cafeteria is probably the largest room in the school, with tables to sit at and a serving station where you can grab food. It’s a populated place outside of classes, so if you’re looking for Sims to socialize with, this is the place you need to be.

Another notable place on this floor is the principal’s office, where you’re more than likely to find the principal at her desk. There’s also the halls, where you’ll find lots of lockers. Your Sim can have one assigned to them so they can use it and customize it.

Upstairs, there are 2 rooms: the art classroom and music room. The art room has easels, while the music room has a piano, microphone, and violin. While these aren’t actively used as classrooms, it’s useful to make a note of these rooms, if you wish to work on your Painting and music Skills. There’s also a landing here with books.

Finally, there’s the basement. There are more restrooms down here, as well as useful facilities such as a computer suite, room with chess tables, and a gymnasium. Like the art and music rooms, these basement rooms aren’t officially assigned classrooms, but if you need to practice some chess, work on the computer, or work out, visit the basement.

Auditorium

Lot Type: Auditorium

Lot Size: 30 x 20

Price: §30,949

Although this is situated on its own Lot, the auditorium is technically part of the school. It essentially serves as a hall where events take place. Such events include the prom, graduation ceremony, and Careers Day. On these days, the auditorium will be decked out accordingly. You’ll probably find that you won’t be visiting the auditorium much outside these events.

The auditorium is a comfortably large space that also includes some restrooms. There’s a stage with a podium at one end of the room. Outside, you can find some monkey bars, in case you have some little ones to keep entertained.

Playing Field

Copperdale High School comes with an enormous playing field that it used for school-based events such as cheerleading and football. During these events, the objects will be set up in a designated spot, similar to Festivals in The Sims 4 City Living Expansion. It’s a truly huge space and fewer places compare.

There’s not a lot you can do around the playing field. There is a toilet block near where the events are held if your Sims find themselves needing the bathroom, so they don’t have to go running all the way back into the school (which, to be honest, is a bit of a trek). There are also a few benches around the edge, situated under canopies.

Other Notable Places

On one side of the school, you can find an amphitheatre with more benches to sit on; a nice tranquil spot if you want some peace and quiet.

Across the road from the school, there’s a store. You cannot enter it – it isn’t a commercial Lot – but there are some vending machines outside, plus there’s a toilet block next to it.

Sims and Families

Copperdale is full of homes, like any Sims 4 world, and with that comes Sims living in them. There are 3 pre-made families residing in Copperdale, occupying 3 of the Lots, and you’re free to play as them. They all have different life stages, traits, and likes/dislikes. They also have their own backstories, but it’s up to you to continue them, and you can do whatever you like, as always in The Sims.

Just as with the Lots, here’s a complete list of all Sims living in Copperdale.

Among many of his hobbies, he’s a keen fisher, but he’ll have to travel to Plumbite Cove if he wants to cast any lines into any water. Despite his title being the school’s janitor and being seen working there, while playing as him, you cannot follow him to work. This does mean that you can get him a job, if you so wish. He will still serve as the janitor when not being played.

Like her older sister, she’s got a mischievous streak. Oddly, she dislikes Kids and Lullabies music, despite being a child. Another interesting thing is that she dislikes playing the piano, even though her mother and grandfather do, further pointing to her rebellious side.

Price Household

Funds: §28,000

Residence: BridgeCreek Drive

The Price’s are a big family, with two adults and four younger Sims. Playing a bigger household can be overwhelming, particularly if you’re new to The Sims 4, so you may need more experience before playing with this family. Note that Kevin Puri is described as a foreign exchange student, so while he is part of the household, he is not a member of the Price family. The Price’s are also the only household with no members working as an NPC at Copperdale High.

Collectibles

Every world in The Sims 4 has collectibles in some form, Copperdale included. This could be plants, or rocks to dig for fossils, gems and other treasures, as well as places to find frogs. While there are frogs and treasures to find, unusually, Copperdale does not seem to have any plants growing in it at all, no flowers, fruit, veg, or herbs to harvest. There’s just one fruit tree in the meadow area of Plumbite Cove: a wild apple tree – but that’s your lot, so don’t go to Copperdale if you’re looking for plants to harvest.

However, since there are rocks to dig at and spots to locate frogs, as part of this world guide, it’s worth giving you the locations of all these spots around Copperdale, if you or your Sims are avid collectors in The Sims 4.

Note that Rockridge Heights, where the high school is located, doesn’t have any collectibles in it at all, so the only areas you need to look in are Plumbite Cove and Prescott Square.

Rock Locations

Copperdale is quite a big world for Sims 4 standards, so it might be hard to spot the rocks. To help you out, here’s a list of where you can find rocks around Copperdale:

Plumbite Cove

  1. By the shoreline near Totter Park

Prescott Square

  1. Behind Water Tower Way
  2. Behind Golden Peak
  3. Along the path to the abandoned cabin

Frog Hiding Place Locations

Frog hiding places can be elusive and limited in numbers, but they are present in Copperdale. Here’s where you can find them:

Plumbite Cove

  1. In the meadowy area near Little Falls Nook

Prescott Square

  1. Near the abandoned shack

That concludes everything you need to know about The Sims 4‘s new world Copperdale in this guide. What do you like about Copperdale in The Sims 4 High School Years? Let us know in the comments.
