The Sims 4 Ciudad Enamorada World Guide

The Sims 4 Lovestruck Expansion Pack is all about romance. It comes with a ton of new stuff, including a brand-new world called Ciudad Enamorada, which is Spanish for “City in Love”. This is very appropriate given the theme of the pack it came with, but also the theme of the world. Ciudad Enamorada is indeed a city, only the second after San Myshuno, that comes bundled with The Sims 4 City Living Expansion. 

New worlds in The Sims 4 are just crying out to be explored, but they can also feel overwhelming, not knowing what’s there and where you can find everything you need. There might even be useful stuff you don’t know about. This guide will give you the tour you need for Ciudad Enamorada, getting you acquainted with its Lots and residents, as well as sharing useful information and tips for your visits or even residency there.

An Overview of Ciudad Enamorada

Ciudad Enamorada is the world that comes with the Expansion Pack Lovestruck. It is a city world like San Myshuno, with skyscrapers and a few apartments you can live in. The few differences is that Ciudad Enamorada feels a bit smaller, and has a more rustic and exotic look about it. Ciudad Enamorada is heavily inspired by Mexican cities, with its warmer climate, bright buildings, and Mexican cultural influence. It’s a truly beautiful and exotic city that appeals to both residents and visitors.

Ciudad Enamorada has three neighborhoods: Nuevo Corazón, Plaza Mariposa, and Vista Hermosa. Each one offers something different. Nuevo Corazón appeals to the nightlife, Plaza Mariposa has a huge beautiful park to explore, and Vista Hermosa is a residential neighborhood.

Climate in Ciudad Enamorada (Seasons Expansion)

Since Ciudad Enamorada is based on places from warmer climates, it makes sense that the climate of the city reflects this in the game (providing you have The Sims 4 Seasons Expansion installed). You can expect warm temperatures in Ciudad Enamorada all throughout the year, especially in the summer. You’ll also get weather such as rain and thunderstorms.

Collectibles in Ciudad Enamorada

If you’re someone who likes to seek out collectibles in The Sims 4, whether to sell finds off for extra cash or you just want to complete a collection, Ciudad Enamorada has something for you to find. 

The first thing you should know is that Ciudad Enamorada has hardly any harvestable plants at all, except for four wild lemon trees in Plaza Mariposa. However, you can find dig rocks and dig spots so you can gather things like gems, metals, treasure maps, and figurines. To help maximize finding as much as you can, here are all the collectible spots in Ciudad Enamorada and its respective neighborhoods. Note that the neighborhood Nuevo Corazón is not included, as there are no collectibles to find there:

Plaza Mariposa

Axolotls

The Sims 4 Lovestruck also comes with a new collectible: axolotls. These are unusual-looking critters that reside in Ciudad Enamorada. There are 15 to find altogether. If you look at the park in Vista Hermosa, there’s a log near the pond. This is home to axolotls that you can collect. There’s another one of these logs in the big park in Plaza Mariposa, by the pond to the left of the fishing spot (near where ducks are seen bobbing about on the water). Axolotls can also be bred together, which may produce new varieties. Note that axolotls cannot be sold for Simoleons. You can either keep them, or release them back to their natural habitat, either by clicking on the axolotl log or on the axolotl you want to release in your Sim’s inventory.

Lots in Ciudad Enamorada

You’re probably interested to see what properties are available in Ciudad Enamorada; where you can live and where you can visit. Ciudad Enamorada contains three neighborhoods. We’ll go through each neighborhood in turn and what you can find there.

Remember that, like with any world and its Lots in The Sims 4, if you don’t like how something is, you can rebuild and rearrange things to your personal preferences and needs. Don’t be afraid to make the changes you desire!

Nuevo Corazón

Nuevo Corazón (Spanish for “New Heart”) isn’t a very big neighborhood in Ciudad Enamorada. However, that’s not to say there’s nothing there and isn’t worth visiting. Nuevo Corazón is the place to go if you want to hit the gym or the nightclub. There’s also a household living here in an apartment complex, and another vacant apartment lot just waiting to be moved into.

La Suite del Flechazo

This luxury penthouse apartment (which translates from Spanish into “The Crush Suite”) is already home to the Nadir household, consisting of couple Aziz and Valentina. It is very expensive to live in, so don’t think you can boot them out and move your starter Sims in. To begin with, this apartment is only decked out with two bedrooms. You can rearrange furniture around to create more bedrooms though, if you need to. There are 3 extra rooms you can easily convert into a bedroom, with one on the ground floor, another on the middle, and even the loft space on the highest floor could be made into a room.

This place also comes with a roof you can walk around on, your very own space. It’s the perfect place to do a little sunbathing!

The apartment comes equipped with the Natural Light Lot Trait, giving your Sims a boost in Painting and Photography.

Mirador del Amor

If your Sims are looking for love, Mirador del Amor (“Viewpoint of Love”) is the perfect place to score a date, thanks to the party atmosphere, plus the Romantic Aura and Singles Hangout Lot Traits. It’s also a good setting for a date, if you’re looking for a venue, as it will get your Sims in the mood for some romantic schmoozing. This sultry hangout comes with music playing on speakers, a piano, bar, and plenty of seating for conversing or cuddling. There’s even a cupboard upstairs where Sims can go and have some private time, if you get the idea.

Sudor

Sudor (suitably translating into “Sweat”) provides two things: somewhere to work out, and somewhere to meet single Sims. Sudor is an impressive gym, providing everything you need for a varied workout. It’s got exercise machines, treadmills, punching bags, and a swimming pool. It’s also got showers and a coffee-making machine.

Torres Amancer

Torres Amancer (“Dawn Towers”) is the other apartment lot in Ciudad Enamorada, and unlike the other, this one is free to move in. However, it might not be available straight away to new Sims. It’s just out of a starter Sims’ budget. The Fast Internet Lot Trait makes this an idea lot for Sims who want to pursue Programming, Video Gaming, and Writing.

To start with, this apartment only has one bedroom. However, there’s a study room that can easily be converted into a second bedroom, ideal for having roommates, or if your Sims have children or other family members living there.

This apartment, like the other, comes with a rooftop garden, complete with a table, grill and garden planter, so your Sims can hang out and enjoy the sights of Ciudad Enamorada from high up.

Other Notable Things in Nuevo Corazón

There are a few other things to look out for in the neighborhood of Nuevo Corazón. Outside the gym, there’s a gift shop, chess table, food stand, and transport station. Also, look out for the train trundling along the track nearby.

Plaza Mariposa

Plaza Mariposa, also known as “Butterfly Square” in Spanish, is probably the most beautiful neighborhood in Ciudad Enamorada. The highlight is a big park brimming with plant life, plus some other notable places, including a pavilion and vacation rental.

Avenida de la Eternidad

Avenida de la Eternidad (“Avenue of Eternity”) is the only residential lot in Plaza Mariposa, and it’s already occupied by the Dynamic Daters household. You could kick them out if you want to move in some other Sims, but it’s not a cheap property. If you did move in, the Convivial Lot Trait would give a boost to your Charisma, Comedy and Mischief skills. It’s also got four big bedrooms and four bathrooms! It makes sense, since a household of four Sims lives here already. It’s a beautifully decorated house, so any Sim would be lucky to live here. It’s also very close to the park and near to the Fountain of Dreams.

Calle del Ensueño

Calle del Ensueño (“Dream Street”) is technically one of those empty lots where you’re free to build on. It’s got some trees and rows of hedges, but feel free to delete them or build around them. You can put whatever you like here. You might want to place a more affordable starter home (or build your own), or you can put a community lot in. How about putting a spa in, if you have Spa Day? That would make a relaxing romantic trip out. Or perhaps even a restaurant via Dine Out? A bowling alley (Bowling Night Stuff) could work too. The best thing about this Lot is that it’s right next door to the big park.

Media Naranja

Media Naranja (“Half Orange”) is a Park lot that is situated right in the heart of the big park of Plaza Mariposa. The centerpiece of this Lot is a pavilion that contains an indoor bar. On the upper landing are some chess tables. This lot also has monkey bars for children and a grill to cook food on. This Lot is an ideal setting for a romantic trip out. It’s also a good point to go to if you want to visit the surrounding park. The Bracing Breezes Lot Trait also means that it’s a good place to go for a jog or any form of exercise to build Fitness.

Villa Cálida

Villa Cálida (roughly translating to “Warm Town”) is Ciudad Enamorada’s resident vacation rental lot. If your Sims want to go away on vacation, this is the place, and it is perfect for a getaway in Ciudad Enamorada. It’s huge, with a swimming pool and hot tub. The Lot Traits means that Sims will get in the mood for love, but it is also a good chance to read up on skill books. This vacation lot is excellent; you’ll be sad to leave it! 

Other Notable Things in Plaza Mariposa

The obvious attraction of Plaza Mariposa is the big park itself. It is huge (perhaps not as big as the park in San Myshuno, but still big enough.) It’s a beautiful, tranquil place, well worth a visit. It has facilities if your Sims ever need the restroom, as well as a pond to go fishing in. There are also attractive sculptures to look at. There’s also a sign you can click on to go for walks, including reflective walks, power walks, and jogs around the park.

That’s not all in Plaza Mariposa. The Fountain of Dreams is here as well. Not only can you use it as a seat, sitting and napping, but you can also make wishes. You can wish for love, happiness, and even wish on other Sims’ happiness – or unhappiness! You can steal from the fountain as well – not that you would, would you? Something else to note is that the Sad Bear Sammy García can often be found hanging around the fountain, if you wish to seek him out for the special quest that comes with Lovestruck.

There’s a few other things of note around Plaza Mariposa. There are a few side parks with benches and food stands, if you want to grab something to eat.

Vista Hermosa

Vista Hermosa (“Beautiful View”) is probably the quietest neighborhood in Ciudad Enamorada. You can probably view it as a residential neighborhood, since most of the Lots are residential (bar a Nightclub).

Calle de la Promesa

It’s appeal are the two Lot Traits, making skills such as Fitness, Piano, Violin and Guitar easier to master. 

Caminito del Deseo

Casita del Amor (“Love House”) is the perfect starter home in Ciudad Enamorada. Actually, it’s the only one, at least that any starter Sims can afford – and just about. You might not have much left over once you move in, but it shouldn’t be too difficult to get the kitty building back up. This is also a good place to live for single Sims or couples. It’s a bit too small for bigger households, especially families, but hey, you can always build some extra rooms. Other benefits of Casita del Amor are the back garden and veranda upstairs, plus there’s a space next door with benches if you want a place to chill out.

Laguna del Abrazo

Laguna del Abrazo (“Embrace Lagoon”) is the sole non-residential lot in Vista Hermosa: a lounge. Sims in this otherwise quiet neighborhood will want to hit the bar for a relaxing time out, romantic or otherwise. This lounge gives you everything you could want for a good time out; a bar, musical instruments, jukebox, and plenty of seating. 

Mansión de la Pasión

The very last Lot in this list is Mansión de la Pasión (“Mansion of Passion”), a vacant residential lot. It’s a bit beyond a starter Sims’ budget, but it’s a lovely place to live. Aspiring musicians, as well as Sims looking to work on their Cooking, Handiness, Mixology, and Gardening skills will enjoy the vibes here.

Other Notable Things in Vista Hermosa

There are a few things to look out for in this tranquil neighborhood. One is the famous Wall of Love. It can be found opposite the Lounge Lot. You can write love declarations on it, or just stand and admire it.

Vista Hermosa also features a small park which contains a pond. This is a good spot for fishing, as well as axolotl seeking. By selecting the sign, Sims can also go on a reflective walk, power walk, and jog around the park. Sims can also go for a swim in the park’s pond, and if they follow a path up off the park, it leads to a statue that can be viewed.

It’s easy to miss, but Vista Hermosa also has a place where Sims can rent a room to sleep, or even WooHoo and Try for a Baby. Renting a room just for sleep costs §20, while the WooHoo options are §40.

Things to Look Out for in Ciudad Enamorada

While each of the three neighborhoods have something different to offer, they do share some things you should know more about if you’re either planning to visit or live in Ciudad Enamorada.

Gift Shop

Looking for a present for a loved one, or perhaps you want to treat yourself? Ciudad Enamorada has a special shop that you may come across. Jacaranda Trees

Just a minor thing to note, but Ciudad Enamorada is full of these beautiful striking purple trees called jacarandas. They’re truly something to look at. Plus, you can get your own jacaranda tree from Build Mode under Outdoor Plants.

Residents in Ciudad Enamorada

You’ve got to know the city. Now it’s time to get to know its residents. Ciudad Enamorada is home to three distinctive households, one in each neighborhood.

You’re welcome to do whatever you want with these pre-made Sims. They do have backstories and pre-determined traits, but otherwise you’re free to explore telling stories with them.

Dynamic Daters Household

Residence: Avenida de la Eternidad

Funds: §20,000

This is a household consisting of four different Sims, none of them related to each other. Carmen is a retired CEO whose wife has passed away, and Elia was once employed as her chef. Manuel and Yoltic are also living there. Essentially, the four of them get on well together. It should be fun playing as this household and seeing where their stories takes them.
