The First Descendant: All Encrypted Vault Locations

Encrypted Vaults can be puzzling for new players in The First Descendant who encounter them for the first time. These secret vaults are briefly introduced in the Hidden Magister’s Assets, which offer limited details on their exact locations.

To find these vaults, players must scan specific areas and follow the pulsing sounds they emit. Without knowing where to start, players might waste time searching aimlessly.

All Encrypted Vault Locations in The First Descendant

As you explore the map in The First Descendant, you’ll notice small, square green holograms sticking out of the ground in various areas. These indicate that an Encrypted Vault is nearby. You can find the Vault by using your Ecive scanner. Press ‘R3’ and look around in all directions until you hear a sonar-like sound.

This sound helps guide you toward the Vault, growing louder as you get closer. Keep your scanner activated while moving to ensure the sound continues, allowing you to zero in on the exact location of the Vault.

Encrypted Vaults appear randomly on the map, and once opened, they disappear, triggering a new Vault to spawn elsewhere. If another player opens a Vault before you reach it, it will also despawn for you. Instead of a green hologram, you’ll see a blue hologram without a Vault, indicating that it has already been opened.

Sterile Lands

The first area in The First Descendant is Sterile Land, where players can discover Encrypted Vaults. Currently, the Classified Area appears to be the only location where these vaults are found. They are mostly situated along the outer edges of the zone, spread out from each other, with two located close together in the northern region.

Vespers

If you’re hunting for Encrypted Vaults in the Vespers, Timberfall is the ideal spot, with six Vaults located close to each other. The rest of the Vespers region has fewer Vaults, so it’s more efficient to focus on Timberfall where a large cluster is conveniently gathered.

Echo Swamp

There are several Encrypted Vaults to unlock in Echo Swamp, and the Abandoned Zone is the ideal spot for farming them. This area has four vaults in total, with three located close together.

Agna Desert

In The First Descendant, while the Agna Desert has plenty of Vaults, they are spread out across the map, making them distant from one another. The Remnant is the best area to focus on, as it offers shorter distances between Vaults compared to the other, larger regions.

White-night Gulch

White-night Gulch is also a great spot for farming Encrypted Vaults, with three located at Shipment Base. However, since this is a high-level area, it’s best to concentrate on farming the Vaults, especially if you’re after a specific drop. Including this zone in your rotation could yield a good amount of materials.

Hagios

With three confirmed locations, Dune Base stands out as Hagios’ top spot for farming Encrypted Vaults, with the possibility of even more to discover. Nearby areas like Starfall Road and Forward Base are also worth exploring, as they are close to one another and may offer additional vaults.

Fortress

Fortress is the final map area you unlock in The First Descendant, making it the best place to find and unlock Encrypted Vaults, as they are plentiful and close together. However, this resource-rich area is also high-level, with many dangerous enemies. It’s recommended to focus on other areas for specific drops before venturing into Fortress.
