The Devil’s Gambit in Skull and Bones sends the player on a mission to cover Scurlock while he’s in an impotent state. Player sets out while wearing a Scurlock disguise to recover a compromised shipment from Fort du Lys located SE from the port of Saint Anne. You commandeer Scurlock’s beloved ship, Margereta. From there you oversee the plunder of the fort during progressive stages until you recover the shipment.
The Devil’s Gambit Contract, Main Objectives:
- Enter The Vanity Atelier and disguise yourself as John Scurlock.
- Sail to and commandeer Scurlock’s ship, The Margareta.
- Plunder Fort du Lys.
- Return to your ship with the recovered shipment.
- Return to Scurlock’s guards with the recovered shipment.
Rewards: 500 Infamy, 900 Silver, Flooding Demi Cannon I, Blueprint for Flooding Demi Cannon I, Sloop Blueprint, “The Favorite” cosmetic.
Below you’ll find the quickest route and the weakest points of defense of Fort du Lys. After you take over Scurlock’s ship, you will only have access to his cargo (not yours). Among Scurlock’s cargo are only 2 repair kits. Fort du Lys will call for reinforcements during the plunder, unless you sink their reinforcements and cop their loot, you won’t get any more repair kits. Proceed with caution.
First, head to the Ateliar (The clothes shop and character customization); Equip Scurlock’s jacket. His coat will be among the other various tops for in the cosmetics shop. It’ll be free of charge.

Second, you must sail to and commandeer Scurlock’s ship with your crew. According to the map it is located approximately 1230m SE of Sainte Anne within the Bloody Channel waters, it’ll take about a minute sailing at full speed.

Next, the fastest way to get to Margereta is: Leaving from the entrance of the port of Sainte Anne – immediately head left and advance towards and through the bridge and follow the canal until;

Now, you might be prompted to “Look At Ship” and it should look like the above pictured boat, in all her glory. Then head a little closer then you’ll be prompted to SWAP SHIP. Follow the prompt for the player and crew to board Sculock’s Margereta. From there, sail SE 1300m to Fort du Lys, this should take about a minute of sailing.
Remember, you’ll only have access to Scurlock’s ship cargo. Proceed with caution.
Fort du Lys Weak Points
Now, plunder Fort du Lys to reclaim the confiscated New York shipment. Each plundering stage holds a corresponding package of loot that the player has to retrieve. When going on the offense on Fort du Lys, focus on the corresponding weak points for maximum damage. Advance to stage 4 of the plunder to be successful.

Finally, you don’t have to finish the plunder to complete the mission. When you are ready, leave the area. Return to your ship and swap back to your original boat. From here, return to Scurlock’s guards with the shipment in tow. You’ll speak to Scurlock to finalize the quest. After receiving your rewards the next mission in the main quest is available titled Blood-Soaked Silver.
