Jacob Lee can get a hold of quite a few weapons during his stay at Black Iron Prison in The Callisto Protocol. This ranges from a chunky Hand Cannon to a powerful Riot Gun and even the ability to lift things telekinetically. You’ll need all these and more to help him survive and escape.
The UJC Tactical Pistol is a weapon that players can pick up around halfway through their journey in The Callisto Protocol. This weapon is a significant divergence from your standard pistol, the Hand Cannon, and can prove very useful for some of the harder late-game fights. Although, you can miss the Pistol Schematic entirely if you don’t know where to look.
Here’s where to find the Tactical Pistol in The Callisto Protocol.

How to Get the UJC Tactical Pistol
You can find the Tactical Pistol after the game’s halfway point. It will likely be the second to last weapon you pick up.
You’ll find the schematic in Chapter 6 Below. This mission introduces a lot and you will be stealthily moving through the tunnels of Arcas avoiding plenty of new Blind Biophages.
Just after your first encounter with a Bind Biophage, you will drop down onto a path diverging path: the left path takes you down a corridor lined with more Blind baddies in waiting, while the right takes you to a looping cave. Head left through the sea of zombies and you will come out to the wider area and a path on the other side.
Up to now, this is just the main path you have to take for the story. Continue onwards and you will hop over a fallen piece of metal scaffolding and then be ambushed by one of two Blind Biophages stuck in a wall.
Afterwards, you will enter another room free of enemies. For the Tactical Pistol Schematic, turn to the right and you’ll see a bunch of lockers (one of the small Leech enemies is dying in one of these lockers so be careful).
The Tactical Pistol Schematic will be waiting on a workbench near these lockers. Next time you go to a Reforger, you can craft the Pistol with Callisto Credits.
All Tactical Pistol Upgrades
The Tactical Pistol is a fully automatic pistol with a quick reload, lots of ammo and the ability to do some nasty sustained damage. It has 4 available upgrades for Callisto Credits.
- Magnum Rounds Damage Upgrade: Increases the damage potential of the weapon by adding extra propellant to all ammunition. Increases bullet damage.
- High Capacity Magazine Upgrade: Alters the magazine well to accept high-capacity magazines. Increases the magazine to 10.
- Stability Upgrade: Reconfigures print with the addition of a foregrip to reduce weapon recoil. Increases stability.
- TK33 “Burst Mode”: Adds alt-fire module with high-damage 5-round burst. Illegal on Earth and Luna.
Compared to some of the other late-game options, getting the Tactical Pistol up and running isn’t actually too costly. The bonus damage and extra magazine help it excel at its primary shop for only about 1000 or so Credits. This makes it affordable and pretty easy to make use of in your arsenal.
Should You Craft It?
The Tactical Pistol is in a strange spot. Against normal Biophage enemies, it can feel especially weak. The shots come quickly but have very little stagger and do very little damage, meaning that most enemies will just ignore them and rush you. The Hand Cannon is a far better weapon to pair with melee swings as it can deal a good amount of damage (especially when upgraded) which may make the Tactical Pistol seem a little redundant.
Where it shines, however, is in long-range engagements with beefier targets. Due to the high rate of fire, you can quickly dump entire mags into high-health targets or bosses before running away. The reload is the quickest of any weapon in the game and it can store an absurd amount of ammo (over 50 rounds), making it ideal in boss fights because you won’t have to switch weapons and risk death.
So, in all, the Tactical Pistol is strange in that it fails pretty hard against most normal targets. The Hand Cannon or either of the two Shotguns does a much better job at keeping you safe and alive at close range. However, in sustained fights against high-health bosses or Biophages, the Tactical Pistol shines through and can make these battles easier to handle. With the speed and mobility of a pistol but with the ability to deal consistent sustained damage, the Tactical Pistol has a place in your boss-killing cache even if it doesn’t belong in your regular holster.
That is how to get the Tactical Pistol in The Callisto Protocol.
