Sail to the Coast of Africa to Investigate the Origins of the Ungwana Poisons

First, the investigation begins 24500m away near The Mother of Shipwrecks outpost in the Reef Sea. The first objective lies in the far South-West area of the map. There is fast travel available for 790 silver. If not, it’ll take just under 20 minutes to sail there directly.

Sink: Plaguebringer

Next, after arriving to the general area, the player is immediately tasked with sinking a ship that holds the name Plaguebringer. For one, there is only one of it’s kind in the area with such flying colors and a green insignia. It’s an extremely hostile ship and it’s very likely that Plaguebringer will be in combat with every other ship within it’s radius. There are no clear critical damage areas on Plaguebringer. They do seem to be somewhat vulnerable to Ramming Attacks.

But what is clear is within its cargo is the Corrosive Vial and the Plaguebringer Captain’s Head. Both are key items during The African Ailment contract that must be claimed from this enemy ship and ushered back to William Blackwood.

Return to William Blackwood with the Corrosive Vial

Make your way back to Telok Panjarah and deliver the corrosive vial to William Blackwood. The player can fast travel for a hefty amount of silver. Although, if the player enjoys a challenge, carrying the head of a defeated captain from The Fleet of Pestilence will build hostility with Captain La Peste’s navy over time. Carrying a head long enough will alert La Peste to your location and he may challenge you to a duel.

Once you hand over the head to William Blackwood, that completes the contract The African Ailment from Skull and Bones, Season 1.

A Note About Season 1, Skull and Bones

Things to Remember: William Blackwood hopes to see La Peste and The Fleet of Pestilance feeding the fish. Bring him the head’s of captain’s for a reward of silver and infamy during Season 1, Skull and Bones. Carrying these heads in your cargo causes The Fleet of Pestilence to become especially hostile towards any ship that holds them. Holding onto these heads for too long may give enough intel to Captain La Peste to be able to pinpoint your exact whereabouts for a duel.
