Tooth Fairy has been one of the most highly anticipated characters within the Reverse: 1999 community leading up to her release in Version 1.2. Part of that hype has to do with her simple yet distinctly elegant design, her creepy lore and character motifs and just the sheer power of her supportive healer kit. As both a character and a unit in the world of R1999, Tooth Fairy stands out in the best possible ways and, if you’re lucky enough to recruit her to your growing lists of Arcanists during the Nightmare at Green Lake, you’ll have one of the strongest supports in the entire game at your disposal.
Here’s everything you need to play best use Tooth Fairy, the newest 6-star Star support, in Reverse 1999, including a breakdown of her main role and kit, what Psycubes and Resonance buffs you want to put on her and what Arcanists you make to pair with her in a team build.

Tooth Fairy Role and Kit Overview
To begin, let’s go over Tooth Fairy’s role and kit. Tooth Fairy is a limited 6-star Star unit in Reverse 1999 with the role classifications of Heal, Debuff and Purify. Her kit mainly revolves around her ability to lower the enemy’s Critical Resist and critical DEF stats. Critical Resist dictates how likely an opponent is to suffer a Critical Hit when put against your character’s current Critical Rate, whereas Critical DEF determines how much damage they’ll take from said Crit Hit.
As you can expect, a unit that can bestow such powerful and potent debuffs while also having the ability to heal the entire team will easily climb to the top of the support rankings, becoming one of the most meta characters in Reverse 1999.
Skill 1: Empty Gums (Debuff)
Tooth Fairy’s first Arcanist Skill is Empty Gums and it’s her main debuff skill. Empty Gums is a single-target attack that deals Mental DMG to the target and applies one stack of [Confusion] for 1 round. Confusion lowers the affected target’s Critical Resist by 25% and you can stack Confusion for higher amounts of Critical Resistance loss.
At higher Incantation levels, the Mental DMG of Empty Gums will increase:
- Empty Gums, 1 Star: Single-target attack which deals 150% Mental DMG.
- Empty Gums, 2 Star: Single-target attack which deals 250% Mental DMG.
- Empty Gums, 3 Star: Single-target attack which deals 450% Mental DMG.
Empty Gums is one of the cornerstones of Tooth Fairy’s kit thanks to its ability to easily inflict a single target with Confusion, one of the strongest debuffs in the game. While Tooth Fairy has additional ways to lower Critical DEF and Resist stats, Empty Gums is the most readily available and consistent way to apply it while still dealing decent damage. As such, always be on the lookout for when you can pop this potent Skill to work.
Skill 2: Lullaby (Health)
The next Skill at Tooth Fairy’s disposal is Lullaby. This is a Health Skill which deals with mass healing, and restoring HP for all allies based on the caster’s attack stat. In addition, this ability benefits from a +30% Critical Rate, allowing it to heal for even more on the chance that you get a lucky Crit.
At higher Incantation levels, the amount of HP restored by Lullaby will increase:
- Lullaby, 1 Star: Mass healing Skill which restores HP equal to 80% of the caster’s attack to all allies.
- Lullaby, 2 Star: Mass healing Skill which restores HP equal to 120% of the caster’s attack to all allies.
- Lullaby, 3 Star: Mass healing Skill which restores HP equal to 200% of the caster’s attack to all allies.
Ultimate: Song for the Bad Tooth
Tooth Fairy’s final Skill is her Ultimate, Song for the Bad Tooth. This Ultimate is a single-target attack which deals 500% Mental DMG to its target. In addition to this, the Ultimate has +30% Critical Rate and, upon scoring a Critical Hit, will purify all allies of any [Stats Down], [Negative Status], or [Control] status effects.
Song for the Bad Tooth gives Tooth Fairy access to something most other units, even other healers, don’t have: a teamwide cleanse. The ability to wipe away every single status condition on all of your teammates with a single ability, even if it does require a Critical Hit to trigger, is insanely valuable, especially in the endgame. That’s, of course, without factoring in the considerable damage the Skill can deal, too, especially if you do land that much-needed Crit.
However, while extremely strong on paper, there are a few caveats to Song for the Bad Tooth, with the biggest being something out of your control. Even if you stack as many Critical Resist lowering effects as possible in your team, some enemy types are just going to have higher natural resistance to Critical Hits. This may result in the cleanse from Tooth Fairy’s Ultimate feeling a bit inconsistent and unreliable, but the best way to navigate this is to simply ensure that you’re stacking effects like Confusion before you pop Song for the Bad Tooth to give you the best possible odds of a Crit.
Insight Passive Skill: Baby Tooth Collector
Upon reaching Insight Level 1, Tooth Fairy will unlock access to the Baby Tooth Collector Passive Skill. Whenever Tooth Fairy enters battle, she will instantly gain 3 [Baby Teeth], with 1 additional [Baby Tooth] being collected whenever any team member actively uses a character incantation. Once you’ve collected 5 Baby Teeth, Tooth Fairy will consume all of them to reduce the enemy team’s Critical Resist and Critical DEF by -15%. This effect lasts for 1 round.
Then, at Insight Level 2, Tooth Fairy will gain +10% Healing Done when entering battle. This is a much simpler upgrade than the other two Insight Skills – similar to most I2 Passives in R1999 – but it does make Tooth Fairy a more powerful healer.
Lastly, at Insight Level 3, when triggering the [Baby Teeth] Stats Down effect, all allies recover 10% of their missing HP. Additionally, when entering battle, you’ll gain 2 bonus Baby Teeth immediately, allowing you to instantly trigger the Critical Resist and Critical DEF reduction effect on the enemy side of the field.
Overall, Baby Tooth Collector is the underlying foundation of Tooth Fairy’s supportive prowess. While Empty Gums is your most direct way to inflict her unique brand of Critical lowering debuffs, consuming the Baby Teeth is where the true magic kicks in as it affects the entire team with the debuff. The activation requirement is also really lax, only requiring 5 Incantations across the entire team for a potent debuff. Between Confusion and this, the enemy is not likely to spend more than a single round without being vulnerable to Critical hits, which is perfect for your main DPS and Tooth Fairy.
How to Play Tooth Fairy
Tooth Fairy is simultaneously one of the best healers and supports in the game thanks to her stacked yet straightforward kit. Every single one of her abilities feeds back on itself in one way or another, meaning that none of Tooth Fairy’s turns are ever going to go to waste whether you’re healing, debuffing or just doing straight damage.
On the support side, her consistent ability to lower Critical Resist and Critical DEF makes her a viable asset to any main damage dealer in Reverse 1999 but for specific Critic-centric main DPS like Regulus, Tooth Fairy becomes absolutely invaluable. Additionally, with two separate ways to inflict the effect – one via Confusion and one via her Baby Teeth – you’ll have super high uptime on these debuffs, ensuring that she remains a powerful threat through the entire game.
Meanwhile, on the healer side, Lullaby is a really strong Health Skill which hits the entire team immediately. The fact that it scales off of ATK rather than HP means that Tooth Fairy can remain a relatively strong damage dealer while maintaining her high healing output, especially if you outfit her with the right Psycubes. Furthermore, her healing will also spawn Baby Teeth from her passive, allowing even her healing to feed back on itself Ouroborous-style.
Honestly, the main downsides to Tooth Fairy are her low health and how she’ll struggle in encounters against opponents with high Critical defensive stats. For the former, Tooth Fairy’s health is her one main weakness stats-wise meaning that she’ll likely only survive a few hits before being taken out: to counter this, just remember to pop Lullaby often, even when it doesn’t seem like she’s in mortal danger. As for the second con, enemies with high natural Critical Resist or Critical DEF stats will be much harder opponents for TF to deal with because they make her debuffs less potent. You can obviously still use her in these situations, just be aware that it’ll be an upwards struggle.
Tooth Fairy Portrays (Duplicates)
Next, let’s go over all of Tooth Fairy’s Portrays. When you pull a duplicate of a character you already have in Reverse 1999, you’ll instead receive an Artifice which is used to unlock their Portray. Each unit has 5 different Portrays and each provides them with a bonus, buff or enhancement to their already existing kit. As such, to get Tooth Fairy Portrays, you’ll need to get multiple copies of her while her Event Banner, “The Fairies Shining at Night”, is still active.
- Song for the Bad Tooth’s effect changes to: Deals 600% Mental DMG.
- Baby Tooth Collector increases the duration of Critical Resist and Critical DEF reduction effects by 1 round.
- Empty Gum’s effect changes to: At 1/2/3 stars, deals 170/280/500% Mental DMG.
- Lullaby at Incantation Rank 1/2/3, HP restored by allies is increased by 90/135/225% of the user’s ATK.
- Baby Tooth Collector changes Critical Resist and Critical DEF reduction effects inflicted to 25%.
Tooth Fairy’s best Portray is probably her second thanks to it increasing the duration of her Critical debuffs: a longer duration means more opportunities for your main DPS to land a big Crit for high damage while also giving Tooth Fairy’s Ultimate a bit more leeway when it comes to triggering its cleansing effect. Aside from that, her P3 is a nice damage increase which will let her keep up with some of the more offensive units whereas her P5 is a massive bonus to the potency of her debuffs.
Tooth Fairy’s Best Psycubes in Reverse 1999
Without question, Tooth Fairy’s best Psycube in Reverse 1999 is Beyond Wonderland. At maximum level (Psycube Level 60), Beyond Wonderland will give the wielder 350 ATK, 2600 HP, 150 Reality DEF and 160 Mental DEF along with 10% additional HP for added survivability. In addition, after the carrier uses a debuff incantation, the carrier’s healing rate will increase by 3% up to a maximum of 4 times for a 12% healing rate buff. Lastly, the Psycube also increases the carrier’s Critical Rate by 7%.
In short, this Psycube just does everything you want for Tooth Fairy: it allows you to improve her healing potential while still dealing damage and applying Confusion, thus playing directly into her Crit lowering playstyle, while also increasing her own Critical Rate so that the cleanse from her Ultimate is more reliable. Compared to the other Psycube offerings, there’s nothing that comes close in terms of improving Tooth Fairy’s overall power and potential as both a healer and Crit support. If you manage to get Beyond Wonderland, there is very little reason to use anything else on Tooth Fairy.
In a stroke of good fortune for all Tooth Fairy havers, Beyond Wonderland is actually a free 6-star Psycube, so long as you play during Version 1.2. You can pick up Beyond Wonderland for 8000 Canned Scream during the Nightmare at Green Lake event, guaranteeing that you can get Tooth Fairy’s best Psycube for free. If you want to increase the Amplification of Beyond Wonderland, you will need to get Gluttony drops via the Jukebox or the Fragment Shop.
If you cannot get your hands on Beyond Wonderland, several other options work well on Tooth Fairy. These replacement Psycubes for Tooth Fairy include Thunderous Applause, That Inquisitive Deer and Laughter and Laughter.
Thunderous Applause, while geared more towards main damage dealers, is excellent for ensuring that you can consistently get off the cleanse from Song for the Bad Tooth as it gives you an easy way to raise your Crit Rate outside of Confusion. Then, on the healer side of Tooth Fairy’s kit, That Inquisitive Deer will allow you to heal whenever you inflict an enemy with a debuff, letting you transform her main attack Skill into another source of healing.
Tooth Fairy’s Most Important Stats
When you’re building Tooth Fairy and filling out her Resonate, there are several stats that you’ll want to prioritise:
- ATK
- Critical Rate
- Critical DMG
ATK should, in most situations, be the primary stat you should go after. Tooth Fairy’s ATK not only determines how much damage Empty Gums and her Ultimate do but it also plays a part in how much healing Lullaby does: the more ATK you have, the harder she’ll hit and the more she’ll heal, as simple as.
As for the Critical Rate and Critical DMG stats, Tooth Fairy really wants to get consistent Critical Hits, mainly so she can trigger Purify via her Ultimate. To make sure you can land as many as possible, you’ll want to pair her ability to debuff opponents and lower their Critical Resist with a naturally high Critical Rate. In that circumstance, you’ll be hitting Crits at a consistent enough pace that you should boost your Critical DMG stat to capitalise on it.
Tooth Fairy’s Best Team Build
Regulus
As a unit which makes landing Critical Hits easier, Tooth Fairy pairs well with any main carry but her best pairings include those who rely on doing a lot of Critical Hits. Enter Regulus, one of the best main damage dealers R1999 has to offer. Regulus is capable of dealing big damage to single and multi-targets with each of Skills and, as a Critical-centric character, she’ll benefit massively from Tooth Fairy’s Critical debuffs.
Another big bonus to using Regulus is that her Ultimate not only deals high damage but it also gives your team the Riot and Roll effect. When under the effects of Riot and Roll, your team will automatically dodge any non-Ultimate attack. For a unit as squishy as Tooth Fairy, this can be insanely useful for surviving dangerous attacks.
One thing you do have to be aware of when using Regulus is that she essentially has a soft cooldown period between rounds thanks to her Insight Passive. The Restless Heart state boosts Regulus’ Critical Rate by 50%, with any excess Crit Rate becoming Crit DMG, but it will only activate once Regulus hasn’t acted for a round. Keep that in mind, though, and you can work out some excellent situations where Tooth Fairy can prime key targets for Regulus to tear down once all of her main buffs are active.
An-an Lee
Another excellent pairing for Tooth Fairy is An-an Lee, a fellow support unit belonging to the Plant element. An-an Lee’s main speciality is in increasing both the survivability and damage of her teammates via her Buff Skill, Lily Nectar, which will give the entire team up to 30% extra DMG and DMG Reduction, perfect for helping keep Tooth Fairy alive while still improving the damage output of your main DPS.
Additionally, An-an Lee’s Insight Passive lets her constantly increase the Incantation level of her Skills. High stars on her abilities mean either high potency buffs for more damage and defence or more raw damage and the potential to Daze with her main attacking Skill. This is obviously on top of the fact that high-level Incantations translate to more Moxie, allowing An-An Lee to get her Ultimate back at a wicked high rate.
Tooth Fairy and An-an Lee make one of the strongest supportive combos in all of Reverse 1999 thanks to the sheer amount of bases they cover: between the two, your team will benefit from extra DMG, DMG Reduction, healing, higher Critical chance and higher Critical DMG and that’s without any Psycube effects. Simply put, these two are ridiculous together and if you’re lucky enough to have An-an Lee, you need to use her with Tooth Fairy.
Bkornblume
The last team member recommendation we have is for Bkornblume, one of the 5-stars rate-ups on Tooth Fairy’s first event banner. Bkornblume is already a fan-favourite unit but, when working alongside Tooth Fairy, she can become even stronger.
Firstly, the DMG Taken debuff applied by Bkornblume’s Prying Ear Skill pairs excellently with Tooth Fairy’s Critical DEF and Critical Resist reductions, with both sets of debuffs working in harmony to open your opponents up for big damage. In addition to that, Tooth Fairy’s ability to constantly throw out debuffs between Confusion and Baby Tooth Collector will let Bkhornblume always hit for double damage with Watch Her Sleeves.
Lastly, with the ability to Seal opponents, Bkornblume can help aid Tooth Fairy in staying alive, allowing her to avoid brutal Ultimates long enough to either heal or take out the offending target. Bkornblume is simply an excellent support-DPS and a super good pairing for Tooth Fairy.
That was everything you needed to play and build Tooth Fairy in Reverse: 1999.
