As version 1.2 of Reverse: 1999 enters its second phase, a new round of event activities has rotated in for A Nightmare at Green Lake. The most exciting – and perplexing – of these two new activities is, undoubtedly, One Flew Over the Old House, a complicated new event which bridges the gap between the end of the Nightmare at Green Lake main story and the present day. In it, we follow Jessica as she tries to acclimate and get used to life in the Foundation, growing her social skills as she tries to pass the strict Graduation exam so she can become a full-fledged Arcanist alongside Blonney and Vertin.
On the gameplay side, this activity is essentially a full-blown visual novel with branching paths, decisions to make, and, most frustratingly, dice rolls and random chance. Jessica has several different stats which she needs to train and upgrade to succeed in her exams and daily life in the Foundation, with dire consequences if she doesn’t keep up with her studies. In total, there are 9 unique endings for the One Flew Over the Old House event in R1999 with valuable Clear Drop and upgrade materials on the line for those willing to find them all. However, between the random dice rolls and complicated explanations, it’s easy to get lost in this event and misunderstand things so we’re here to guide you through how to complete it 100%.
Here’s how to unlock all 9 of the endings in the new One Flew Over the Old House activity in Reverse: 1999’s A Nightmare at Green Lake event.

How to Unlock All One Flew Over the Old House Endings in Reverse 1999
Ending 1: One Flew Over the Old House
The first ending you can obtain is One Flew Over the Old House, which is named after the event itself. To get the first ending, you need to complete your studies with an overall grade of C or above.
This isn’t really an ending that you’ll actively seek out. Instead, you’ll likely earn it by unlocking one of the game’s eight other endings: in fact, only one of them – the ending which asks you to get a deliberate E grade – won’t get you this ending, with the seven others asking for a C grade or above. Additionally, getting a C grade isn’t particularly difficult once you get used to the event’s main mechanics and daily rhythm, allowing you to easily clean up this ending.
If you are struggling with the event and want some guidance, the main goal of One Flew Over the Old House is to raise Jessica’s five stats as high as possible. The main ways of doing this are either attending classes where you can raise one singular stat, inviting some familiar faces to tutor you or wandering around the Foundation grounds.
Things get more complicated and complex the deeper you go but, if you’re just aiming for a C grade, focus on attending classes and raising as many stats as you can to level 3. If you have any spare time, try inviting Sonetto or Blonney to help with that process. If everything goes well and you manage to build up enough stats before day 11, you should secure yourself a C grade and the One Flew Over the Old House ending.
Ending 2: Re-enrollment
Ending 2 of One Flew Over the Old House, Re-enrollment, is acquired by completing your studies with an overall grade of E, the lowest grade you can get.
This is the easiest, yet most boring, ending to obtain in the entire event. To get it, simply select the Rest option every single day and ignore everything else. To get an E grade, you essentially need to completely bomb the final exam and have a super low stat total so, by resting each day and ignoring classes, visits or walking around, we side-step the risk of accidentally increasing our stats and making the final exam easier. However, the result is less than interesting as you’ll just be pressing the Rest option constantly so get ready for 5-10 minutes of hitting the skip button.
By completing Ending 2, you’ll earn the Re-enrollment characteristic which grants 20% Focus recovery efficiency in rest events. With regards to when you should tackle Ending 2, we recommend having it be one of the first endings you purposely go after: not only will you get the most tedious one out of the way early but you’ll also avoid getting a bunch of bonuses from other ending characteristics which may accidentally make the final exam much easier.
Ending 3: New Food! New Flavors!
To get Ending 3 – New Food! New Flavors! – you must possess the Delicious Soup trait and get an overall grade of C or above at the event’s end. You’ll obtain the Delicious Soup trait by clearing stage 4 of the Canteen.
This is another easy ending to earn, only asking you to obtain a single trait and pass one stat check within the 11-day time limit. The only thing which may hinder your progress for this ending is if you fail the stat check-in stage 3 of the Canteen: if you fail it, you won’t be able to retry or continue the Canteen event chain, locking you out of the Delicious Soup trait and the New Food! New Flavors! ending.
To avoid this, you should level up your Tangible Cognition as high as possible before attempting the check. The two main ways of doing this are to undertake Common Sense Classes, which will raise your Cognition by about 60 each time, or to Invite Sonetto and progress her Invite event chain. We recommend spending all of your time either doing classes or speaking to Sonetto until the Mid-term Exam happens on day 6: completing this exam will give you a lot of miscellaneous stat buffs, including more Cognition, so it’s better to wait and make use of the extra stats.
Once you’re at about 300 to 400 Cognition, continually enter the Canteen location via the Look Around menu. With a Cognition stat that high, the stat check should be a near-guaranteed success, allowing you to clear it easily and pick up the Delicious Soup trait. After you have the trait, you can spend the remaining days doing whatever you want.
Ending 4: Eleven Days of Jeopardy
For the Eleven Days of Jeopardy ending of One Flew Over the Old House, you must possess both the Emerging Poet and Educational Errors traits, and get an overall grade of C or above.
Emerging Poet and Education Errors are two traits which you’ll obtain by Inviting certain characters to meet Jessica, namely Sonetto and Matilda. If you manage to reach the end of Sonetto’s Invite event successfully – which requires a lot of Cognition and Socialization – you’ll receive the Emerging Poet trait. Meanwhile, reach the end of Matilda’s Invite event – which asks for a lot of Socialization and Arcane Stability – and you’ll get Educational Errors.
If you’re wondering how to make Matilda appear as a guest, you need to, fittingly, complete Sonetto’s Invite event, first. Upon successfully finishing the poem at the end, you’ll get the Emerging Poet trait and unlock Matilda as an Invite option. This persists between attempts.
Below, you’ll find a step-by-step guide to unlocking the Eleven Days of Jeopardy ending in the One Flew Over the Old House event in Reverse 1999. The only assumed characteristic for this guide is that you have already completed the event once, earning you the One Flew Over characteristic which gives all stats +50 from the get-go.
- Day 1 to 5: Class (Common Sense) > Class (Social Skills) > Class (Arcane Skills) > Rest
- Day 6: Mid-term Exam
- Day 7: Class (Common Sense) > Class (Social Skills) > Invite (Sonetto) > Invite (Sonetto)
- Day 8: Invite (Sonetto) > Invite (Sonetto) > Invite (Sonetto) > Rest
- Day 9: Invite (Matilda) > Invite (Matilda) > Invite (Matilda) > Invite (Matilda)
- Day 10: Class (Social Skills) > Class (Social Skills) > Class (Social Skills) > Rest
- Day 11: Class (Social Skills) > Class (Social Skills) > Class (Social Skills) > Invite (Matilda)
Complete all of the tasks and you’ll finish this run with a high amount of stats, likely a B grade and the two traits that you need. Compared to some of the other endings, especially the other two trait ones, Eleven Days of Jeopardy isn’t actually that bad on account of how easy it is to earn both Cognition and Socialisation points. It doesn’t hurt that Sonetto and Matilda’s checks don’t seem that hard, either.
If you’re wondering what the Eleven Days of Jeopardy characteristic does, it increases aptitude gains for the Arcane Skill stat by 20%.
Ending 5: Long-eared Listener
Ending 5, Long-eared Listener, is earned by obtaining the Mysterious Plasticity and Special Communication traits, as well as passing with an overall grade of B or above. Compared to most of the other endings, Ending 5 is pretty difficult to obtain, largely because you need two different traits from two different areas, with one coming from Invitations and the other coming from the map. As cuh, you’ll be spending a lot of time in classes grinding out stats.
The first trait you need, Mysterious Plasticity, is earned by reaching the end of Tooth Fairy’s Invite event. To effectively reach that point, you’ll need to invest in both Socialization and Strength, as Tooth Fairy has two checks which require either of these stats. On the other hand, Special Communication comes from finishing the Toilet series of events. Like with the first trait, you’ll need to invest heavily in Socialization but you’ll also want a good amount of Arcane Stability and Tangible Cognition (which is required to pass the very first check).
Here is a step-by-step guide to obtaining the Long-eared Listener ending in Reverse 1999’s One Flew Over the Old House Event. Once again, the only characteristic we’re assuming that you have at this point is the One Flew Over the Old House, which gives all of your aptitudes +50 at the start of a new run:
- Day 1 to 3: Class (Common Sense) > Class (Social Ability) > Class (Arcane Skills) > Rest
- Day 4 and 5: Class (Social Ability) > Class (Social Ability) > Class (Social Ability) > Rest
- Day 6: Mid-term Assessment
- Day 7: Look Around (Toilet) > Look Around (Toilet) > Look Around (Toilet) > Invite (Tooth Fairy)
- Day 8: Class (Strength) > Class (Strength) > Class (Arcane Skills) > Rest
- Day 9: Class (Strength) > Invite (Tooth Fairy) > Invite (Tooth Fairy) > Invite (Tooth Fairy)
- Day 10: Class (Arcane Skills) > Class (Arcane Skills) > Class (Arcane Skills) > Class (Social Ability)
- Day 11: Class (Social Ability) > Class (Social Ability)) > Look Around (Toilet) > Invite (Tooth Fairy)
If you did everything right (and got lucky with your dice rolls), you should be entering the final exam with more than enough stats to reach grade B along with the Mysterious Plasticity and Special Communication traits. Like with all other endings which require two or more traits, just keep trying over and over again if you fail one of the dice rolls: eventually, luck will be in your favour and you’ll get the things you need to get it done.
The Long-eared Listener characteristic grants +20% increased aptitude efficiency for Morality.
Ending 6: Fight Club
To get the Fight Club ending of the One Flew Over the Old House event, you must trigger all combat events and emerge victorious. You need to also clear the event with an overall grade of C or higher. In the event, a fight has a chance to begin if you fail a certain check or requirement at specific area stages. In total, there are four and you must encounter them all to get this ending.
- Canteen, stage 5, if you fail to bring a gift.
- Library, stage 4, if you fail the check.
- Toilet, stage 4, if you fail the check.
- Guardhouse, stage 4, if you fail the check.
There are two main issues with this ending. The first is that some of the areas you need to visit are locked off until you complete specific Invite events: three of the areas are locked off until you complete Vertin’s event, whereas the Library is unavailable until you successfully complete Matilda’s event (who, in and of herself, won’t appear until you complete Sonetto’s Invite event). There’s a lot you need to do so we recommend waiting until you have everything unlocked before tackling it.
Secondly, because fight events only spawn upon failing a check, you need to be aware of what stats you’re levelling at different points in the event. If your stats are too good when you come to that check, you may succeed and miss out on your chance to partake in the battle. As such, the order you undertake these fights is very important. The Canteen fight is guaranteed to happen so long as you don’t have a gift (which you can only get by completing the Office event chain) so you should save that for that last. Aside from that, doing Toilet or Gatehouse first allows you to try the initial stat check and then just reset if you don’t get it, saving you precious time.
With that out of the way, here’s the day-to-day guide for getting the Fight Club ending in One Flew Over the Old House:
- Day 1: Look Around (Toilet) > Look Around (Toilet) > Look Around (Toilet) > Look Around (Toilet)
- Day 2: Classes (Social Ability) > Classes (Social Ability) > Look Around (Guardhouse) > Look Around (Guardhouse)
- Day 3: Look Around (Guardhouse) > Look Around (Guardhouse) > Look Around (Library) > Look Around (Library)
- Day 4: Look Around (Library) > Look Around (Library) > Look Around (Canteen) > Look Around (Canteen)
- Day 5: Invite (Sonetto) > Invite (Sonetto) > Class (Common Sense) > Class (Common Sense)
- Day 6: Mid-term Exam
- Day 7: Invite (Sonetto) > Rest > Class (Common Sense) > Class (Common Sense)
- Day 8: Look Around (Canteen) > Look Around (Canteen) > Look Around (Canteen) > Look Around (Canteen)
As for what the Fight Club characteristic does, it permanently increases your Physicality status by 100 points.
Ending 7: Critter’s Best Friend
Ending 7, Critter’s Best Friend, is earned by completing the event with an overall grade of C or higher while possessing both the Honoree and Biting Stool traits. This ending is difficult to earn thanks to how many interconnected pieces it has.
For the Honoree trait, for example, you need to first clear all of the Office events (which ask for high amounts of Arcane) and then clear all of the Canteen events (which need a lot of Cognition). Similarly, Biting Stool needs you to have completed all of the Classroom events while owning the My Friend Andy trait from the Guardhouse.
With so many areas to visit, all of which require investment in different stats, you’re on a very tight deadline when it comes to time. You’ll need at least 5 days to simply visit all of the locations you need, giving you a much shorter time to raise stats via classes or Invitations. Every moment matters when it comes to this ending so get ready to reset if anything goes wrong.
Here’s a step-by-step guide for the Critter’s Best Friend ending in Reverse 1999’s One Flew Over the Old House event:
- Day 1: Invite (Matilda) > Invite (Sonetto) > Invite (Blonney) > Look Around (Canteen)
- Day 2: Invite (Matilda) > Invite (Matilda) > Invite (Matilda) > Class (Common Sense)
- Day 3: Class (Social Ability) > Invite (Sonetto) > Invite (Blonney) > Rest
- Day 4: Invite (Matilda) > Invite (Blonney) > Class (Common Sense) > Invite (Sonetto)
- Day 5: Invite (Sonetto) > Invite (Sonetto) > Invite (Blonney) > Invite (Blonney)
- Day 6: Mid-term Exam
- Day 7: Look Around (Guardhouse) > Look Around (Guardhouse) > Look Around (Guardhouse) > Look Around (Guardhouse)
- Day 8: Look Around (Classroom) > Look Around (Classroom) > Look Around (Classroom) > Look Around (Classroom)
- Day 9: Look Around (Classroom) > Look Around (Classroom) > Look Around (Office) > Look Around (Office)
- Day 10: Look Around (Office) > Look Around (Canteen) > Look Around (Canteen) > Look Around (Canteen)
- Day 11: Look Around (Canteen) > Look Around (Canteen) > Look Around (Canteen) > Class (Strength)
The Critter’s Best Friend bonus characteristic gives you +20% increased aptitude efficiency on Fitness courses (also known as Physical courses).
Ending 8: Hollywood Jewel
To get the Hollywood Jewel ending, you must possess the Guest Actress, Two-Faced Person and Person in the Book traits and pass with an overall grade of B or higher. This is an interesting ending for a few reasons. First and foremost, it’s the only ending which asks you to pick up three traits – one from Blonney, one from Horropedia and one from the Library – instead of the usual two or three. Secondly, two of the most important parts of this ending need to be unlocked.
To access the Library, you’ll need to complete Matilda’s Invite event chain. How do you unlock Matilda? Well, as we mentioned earlier, you need to finish Sonetto’s Invitation chain. There are a lot of hoops to jump through here but, fortunately, once the Library is available, it will be open permanently.
Meanwhile, unlocking Horropedia is kind of a hassle. Firstly, you need to have unlocked Vertin as an Invite option which means you have to beat the event once already. Then, with Vertin available to invite, you need to complete her three events: if her third and final event is locked, you may need to complete some more endings or Invite events to unlock it. Whatever the case, once you complete all three of Vertin’s events, you’ll permanently unlock the Key Holder characteristic which lets you invite Horropedia by visiting the Canteen.
The strangeness with Horropedia doesn’t stop there, though. Not only do you have to re-invite him every single new run by visiting the Canteen, but you can only invite and talk to him during the evening. He has a total of five events and, to successfully clear the fifth one, you need to answer with the most cruel and deranged answers possible. Only then will Horropedia be pleased and award you the Morality trait.
Once you have all the parts unlocked and are ready to start a new run, you can go after the Hollywood Jewel ending in One Flew Over the Old House. Here’s the step-by-step guide for unlocking that ending:
- Day 1: Look Around (Canteen) > Invite (Blonney) > Look Around (Library) > Invite (Horropedia)
- Day 2: Invite (Blonney) > Invite (Blonney) > Invite (Blonney) > Invite (Horropedia)
- Day 3: Class (Social Ability) > Class (Social Ability) > Invite (Blonney) > Invite (Horropedia)
- Day 4: Rest > Class (Strength) > Class (Strength) > Invite (Horropedia)
- Day 5: Rest > Class (Strength) > Invite (Tooth Fairy) > Invite (Tooth Fairy)
- Day 6: Mid-term Exam
- Day 7: Class (Strength) > Class (Strength) > Invite (Tooth Fairy) > Rest
- Day 8: Class (Strength) > Invite (Tooth Fairy) > Invite (Tooth Fairy) > Rest
- Day 9: Class (Morality) > Class (Morality) > Look Around (Library) > Look Around (Library)
- Day 10: Class (Morality) > Rest > Class (Morality) > Class (Morality)
- Day 11: Look Around (Library) > Look Around (Library) > Rest > Class (Common Sense)
The Hollywood Jewel characteristics grant +20% increased aptitude to Socializing courses.
Ending 9: Pacifist
Last, but certainly not least, is the Pacifist where you must complete the event with a final grade of A (the highest grade possible) without having triggered a single combat event.
Similar to ending 1, Pacifist is an ending you should naturally attain while completing other endings. Certain endings, such as Critter’s Best Friend, require so much precise planning that, by pure chance, you’ll likely stumble into an A grade while simply trying to fulfil their requirements. However, if you’re still looking to complete the event with an A Grade, we do have some tips.
The most important thing for getting a Grade A is to simply get your stats as high as possible. When calculating your score at the end of the event, all of your stats will be added together and then combined with your Mid-term and Final Exam results to get your total. For example, if you have 100 Morality, 300 Cognition, 200 Socialization, 200 Physicality and 100 Arcane Stability, that would result in a final score of 900 which gets added to your exam scores. To get an A grade, you need to get a score above 2600, meaning that you need, at least, a total of 2000 stats.
The best way to get those high stats is to alternate between classes and Invitations. By inviting specific characters, you can massively increase your gains in a certain stat – such as Sonetto for Cognition or Blonney for Socialization – and you can wind up with multiple stats in the 400, 500 or even 600 range by finishing multiple Invite event chains.
If you want some more precise advice, start day 1 by beginning Matilda’s Invitation event. Because you won’t have high Arcane Stability you may have to restart a few times but, eventually, you’ll pass and be given a huge Arcane boost as a result: Arcane Stability is the most difficult stat to level in the entire event so it’s much more efficient to get it from Matilda than from classes. Once Matilda’s event is complete, move on to Sonetto and Blonney. Invitation events award a ton of valuable stats for multiple aptitude types, allowing you to quickly earn way more than you would by just doing classes.
If you’re still struggling to get an A grade, wait until you’ve completed all 8 other endings first. That way you’ll be able to benefit from all of the extra permanent characteristics: some of them, like Fight Club, will give you a huge boost in a specific stat whereas others will improve the amount of aptitude you earn from completing classes. With all 8 characteristics under your belt, you should be able to hit that 2000 stat threshold in no time.
The Pacifist characteristic will permanently increase Jessica’s Socialization stat by 100.
That was how to unlock all 9 endings in the One Flew Over the Old House event in Reverse: 1999.
