Peste Control – William Blackwood urges the player to not sit back and allow Captain Le Peste to take over and rule the seas. Sink Plaguebringers and claim their captain’s heads to send a message to Captain Le Peste and The Fleet of Pestilence navy. There is one objective to this contract. However, locating Plaguebringer ships are just as tricky as trying to take them down.

Plaguebringer Locations
First, locating Plaguebringer ships proved most tricky. Off the record, the most common area during one playthrough found Plaguebringers along the International Trade Route in the southern part of the Coast of Africa. Most namely near The Mother of Shipwrecks, Royal Burial Ground, and Fort Louis outposts. Also, they’ve been spotted along the trade routes within the Bloody Channel waters.

Plaguebringer also spawns in Bloody Channel Waters near the trade route.

Also, the dotted line represents The International Trade Route(s) between East Asia and Europe. The routes are usually heavily guarded for the sake of the merchant fleets that use this route frequently. While procuring heads for this contract, armed fleets completely minded their own business and were of no help. Which we’ll now walkthrough to combat with Plaguebringers.
Procure Plaguebringer Captain’s Heads
Next, Plaguebringers are usually Bedars. There are no clear critical damage points on Plaguebringer ships. During one playthrough, it appeared that Plaguebringers were vulnerable to Ram Attack damage. A form of method advice would be to fire cannons at their sails to temporarily immobilize, Ram Attack, then Fire cannons at the hull.
- Immobilize the Plaguebringer via tearing the sails
- Braced Ram Attack, bowside
- Fire at the Hull
- Repeat

It takes some maneuvering to Ram Attack then fire at the hulls immediately. Lower the sails for sharper turns and try to sail as close to their sterns as possible. The Plaguebringer ships do not have weapons affixed upon their stern-side or back of their ship. Therefore, there is a blindspot in terms of firepower and they cannot hit player from behind.
Things to Remember – If the player carries the head of a Plaguebringer captain inside of their cargo, hostility from The Fleet of Pestilence will build up over time. The longer the player carries the head(s), the more hostile The Fleet will behave. If the player is limited in their firepower and defenses, it is advised that they rid of these heads as soon as possible.
William Blackwood looks forward to La Peste and The Fleet of Pestilance being removed from the waters completely. Bring him the head’s of Plaguebringer captain spawns for a modest reward of silver and infamy during Season 1, Skull and Bones. During this contract, the player can procure more than 2 heads for a bigger reward for convenience purposes.
Peste Control Possible Glitch
While the Peste Control contract is still in progress; if a single Plaguebringer Captain Head is submitted to William Blackwood instead of two, the contract will automatically render complete if the one head is submitted twice. The player will be rewarded accordingly.
Similarly, the same goes if the player eliminates a Plaguebringer spawn and brings William Blackwood its head. If the player first activates “Peste Control” and submits a single head, the player can submit the same head twice to fulfill the contract.
