If you enjoy gardening, you’ll definitely want to obtain a Growshroom, as it greatly assists with crop management. To acquire a Growshroom in Once Human, simply grow mushrooms in your garden and hope that one of them transforms into a Growshroom.
How to Get Growshroom
The Growshroom in Once Human is acquired by collecting Mushrooms, either found in the wild or grown at your Base. It’s a random drop, each time you pick a mushroom, there’s a chance you’ll get a Growshroom. Player experiences suggest the drop rate is between 2% and 10%, so the number of times you’ll need to harvest Mushrooms to get the Deviant varies. For us, it took about 20 Mushrooms to find a Growshroom, but your experience might be different.
Location of Mushroom
Mushrooms are easy to spot, resembling traditional red and white toadstools that stand out in the grass. The source of the mushrooms doesn’t affect your chances of getting a Growshroom. Whether you harvest wild mushrooms or ones from your personal farm, the probability of obtaining a Growshroom is the same.
Farming Mushrooms
Mushrooms grow all over the Once Human map, particularly in forest areas. That said, we recommend farming Mushrooms southeast of High Banks in Broken Delta, which is a recommended level 12 area. It’s also close enough to a Teleportation Tower that you can easily change your World to reset the Mushroom spawns rather than waiting for them to reappear.
Picking up Mushroom
Around 8-10 Mushroom nodes spawn here, at map coordinates 5496, -6080, which you can see in the map screenshot. It can be useful to use the teleporter to change worlds and re-harvest mushrooms.
Growing Mushrooms
If you want to grow mushrooms at your base in Once Human, you can use Mushroom Seeds, which you get from picking mushrooms. To plant these seeds, you need Loamy Soil, which is made by combining 8 Boiled Water and 3 Spoiled Food.

After planting the Mushroom Seeds, water them with a source like Boiled Water and wait for them to grow. You will get a notification pop-up when they are ready to be harvested.
How to Use Growshroom
Growshroom is one of the Best Deviants in Once Human that aids your base. In Once Human, Growshroom provides two main benefits: it boosts the growth rate of your plants and automatically plants seeds for you. The automatic planting is particularly useful for minimizing time spent on your base. To activate this feature, go to Growshroom’s securement facility, inspect it, and right-click the box in its side menu to view all your available seeds.
Getting Growshroom
However, Growshroom will plant seeds in any available plot without considering placement. If you prefer a neatly arranged garden, you may want to hand-plant some seeds before letting Growshroom take over.
