A “Gift from the Gods” is a crossover Final Fantasy XV quest in Assassin’s Creed Origins that includes a sundial puzzle. Completing that quest by solving its puzzle will give you one of the best legendary swords in AC Origins, along with a shield and mount. So, this is certainly one side quest you should check out in AC Origins. However, that quest provides little in the way of clues for how to solve its puzzle. This is how you can solve the Assassin’s Creed Origins sundial puzzle in “A Gift from the Gods.”

Where to Find the “A Gift From the Gods Quest”
You can find the “A Gift from the Gods” side quest in the Saqqara Nome region of the map. It is near the southernmost pyramid on the game’s map west of Memphis. A green diamond marks this side quest’s location on the map.
“A Gift from the Gods” is a level 23 side quest. You don’t need to do much fighting on the quest, which makes it doable at lower levels. However, there is some nasty wildlife in the quest’s area that could be tricky to deal with if you’re a long way below level 23.
Note that you’ll need some (three) arrows to solve the Assassin’s Creed Origins sundial puzzle. So, make sure you have enough arrows to complete the quest. The Dawn and Dusk ability is also handy for this quest. I recommend levelling up to unlock that ability if you don’t already have it.
You can start the “A Gift from the Gods” quest by going to the location of its green diamond on the map. There you’ll see a meteorite crash down to earth. Go to where the meteorite landed to investigate. Then enter the tomb beside the meteorite to check out the wall marking inside it to start the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey sundial puzzle.
How to Crack the Sundial Puzzle in the “A Gift From the Gods Quest”
Next, go to the giant sundial near the tomb the quest’s objective marker directs you to. That sundial is surrounded by pillars that are closed for much of the day. Those pillars are only open during the first light (dawn) day period.
To solve the Assassin’s Creed Origins sundial puzzle, you must be at the sundial at dawn when the surrounding pillars are open. Utilize the Dawn and Dusk ability to fast forward through to morning time. If you don’t have that ability, you’ll have to wait until dawn comes.
Then aim your bow and shoot the crystal in the middle pillar directly opposite the sundial circled in the screenshot below. Shoot that crystal three times to spark a reaction. Blue light beams will then shoot into the sky, confirming you’ve cracked the Assassin’s Creed Origins sundial puzzle.
Enter the Tomb to Get Your New Legendary Gear
Solving the Assassin’s Creed Origins sundial puzzle opens the wall marking in the tomb. Go back inside the nearby tomb you entered earlier. Now you’ll find the marking has opened, enabling you to walk further into the tomb toward the objective marker. Enjoy the Ardyn cutscene that follows.
With the “A Gift from the Gods” quest completed, you’ll receive three legendary gear items. The Ultima Blade sword with a critical hit, adrenaline regeneration, and health abortion bonuses is undoubtedly the biggest reward. You’ll also receive the Ziedrich legendary shield with a bleeding-on-block effect that causes enemies to bleed. The Kweh Mount, something you can add to your camel, is another item you receive for completing this quest.
The three legendary items you receive for solving the Assassin’s Creed Origins sundial puzzle make “A Gift from the Gods” one of the most rewarding side quests in the game. All three items have unique Final Fantasy aesthetic designs, and the Ultima Blade and Ziedrich shield are invaluable additions to your inventory.
