Honkai: Star Rail | Simulated Universe World 7 Guide (Easy F2P Clear)

Check out this guide to learn how you can beat Simulated Universe World 7 in Honkai: Star Rail completely F2P. World 7 is the newest addition to the SU in Version 1.2 and it pits you against one of the most irritating bosses in the game, the Abundant Ebor Deer. Luckily, you can still beat it with a F2P team with the method we suggest in this guide.

Honkai: Star Rail | Simulated Universe World 7 Guide (Easy F2P Clear)

With the Version 1.2 update, a new World was added to the Simulated Universe in Honkai: Star Rail. As one of Star Rail’s primary endgame modes, the Simulated Universe is a challenging gauntlet where players battle through waves of randomly assigned rooms in a rouge-like formula, collecting buffs and slaying baddies as they go. As the only source of special Relics known as Planar Ornaments, Trailblazers will need to pay close attention to the SU and figure out strategies for emerging victorious in each World, using the various Paths, Resonances, Blessings and buffs at their disposal. And the newest World you’ll need to overcome is World 7.

World 7 is the latest World to join the SU roster and it pits Trailblazers against the forces of the Xianzhou Luofu. Alongside two new Planar Ornament sets, World 7 will award a generous amount of Stellar Jade to any player who can beat it and its various difficulty modes (200 Jade for the first completion and then 60 Jade per higher difficulty). The toughest test in SU World 7 is the Abundant Ebon Deer, a being born of Abundance who seeks to separate you from your sweet, sweet summon currency. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to beat this creature and one of the most effective is completely F2P.

Here’s your easy F2P guide for World 7 of the Simulated Universe, with advice on how anyone can overcome this challenging new addition to Honkai: Star Rail. If you’re struggling with the previous SU Worlds, you can find our World 4, World 5 and World 6 guides here.

Simulated Universe World 7 Overview

World 7 is the latest World to join the SU, meaning that it is the new final stage for the activity. This means that you’ll want to thoroughly prepare for venturing into it, making sure your characters, Light Cones and Relics are at an appropriate level beforehand. The recommended level for difficulty 1 of World 7 is level 61.

As for what you’ll be going up against, it’s a lot of what you’ve seen before in previous SU Worlds. World 7 leans a bit more towards the Xianzhou Luofu side in terms of enemy variety, including various Mara-Struck and Abundance Abominations in both its rank-and-file and Elite-tier opponents. Notably, several new enemies from 1.2 including the Malefic Ape and the Ascended all make their Simulated Universe debut as Elites in World 7. A large majority of enemies in World 7 share a weakness with Wind and Ice DMG, so keep that in mind when developing team compositions.

World 7 Major Threats

World 7 Major Threats

A new World, of course, means two brand new Planar Ornament sets. From World 7, you can either pick up the Rutilant Area set (a new CRIT Rate set that’s much better than the one from World 5, if a bit trickier to trigger) or the Broken Keel set (Effect RES). You can get these Relics by spending 40 Trailblaze Power on the Immersion Devices that pop up after you defeat an Elite target.

Finally, World 7 still has the same number of floors as previous Worlds do. That means that there are 7 combat or event-dedicated floors, 3 floors dedicated to Elite or boss enemies and 3 floors designated as Respite spots where you can recover, revive allies or spend Cosmic Fragments.

World 7 Elites

Abundant Ebon Deer

The final boss of World 7 and the main thing standing between you and your Jade is the Abundant Ebon Deer (Complete). This fight is against the same Deer you fought during the Xianzhou Luofu storyline, only buffed up with a few new tricks and an additional phase to conquer. The Ebon Deer is tough, tanky and has more than a few ways of making life difficult for you and your team.

Starting with the basics, the Abundant Ebon Deer is going to be level 66 when you encounter it at the end of World 7. It can deal Lightning or Wind DMG and is weak to Fire, Ice and Quantum DMG. Troubles start with the Ebon Deer’s list of resistances: it has resistance against Lightning and Wind attacks as well as Frozen RES and Imprisonment RES, making it a difficult foe to overcome.

In terms of what attacks the Ebon Deer can use, here are the main things you’ll be contending with over the 3 phase fight:

  • Pedicel: There are 4 versions of the Pedicel attack which will cause the Abundant Ebon Deer to summon one of 4 Ambrosial Arbor Branches as minions.
  • Wavering Blast: Deals high Lightning DMG to a single target.
  • Caress of Wind: Deals minor Wind DMG to all targets.
  • Hardy Wind Sheath: Increases DEF. Toughness cannot be reduced.
  • Rebirth: Absorbs the energy of all Ambrosial Arbor branches on the field to restore HP.
The Abundant Ebon Deer

The Abundant Ebon Deer

There are a few important things to note about the Abundant Ebon Deer fight. The first is that it will continually summon different Ambrosial Arbor branches as minions to aid it during the fight. These branches have different Weaknesses to the Deer and do a lot of different things: they can heal the Deer, put up a Counter, increase its ATK or inflict you with a debuff called Outrage. They don’t have a ton of health and can be focused down quite easily but can turn into a massive pain if kept alive for too long.

Secondly, the Abundant Deer has access to a super powerful attack in phases 2 and 3 called the Flamboyant Gore. One of the Deers’ Ambrosial Arbor branches is called the Tree of Lavish Fruit: as the name suggests, this Branch will summon a Lavish Fruit once per turn. If you don’t take them out in time and you allow two of these Lavish Fruits to spawn, the Ebon Deer will instantly cast this attack. It deals high Lightning DMG to all targets and will deal additional DMG for every other Ambrosial Arbor branch on the field. Avoiding this attack at all costs needs to be your main priority as it will likely take out your weaker, squishier characters in no time.

Throw in some healing for good measure and the Abundant Ebon Deer is a long, gruelling fight which can become even worse if you aren’t able to manage it correctly. Luckily, there are some very solid strategies for overcoming it, including a completely F2P strategy that should help you best this Abundance abomination in no time at all.

Best F2P Team Composition for SU World 7

To beat the Abundant Ebon Deer and World 7 as a whole, you’ll want a team that can deal wide-sweeping damage against multiple targets while still having good enough defences and healing to survive. All of these recommendations will be free-to-play but you can switch certain characters out if you’re lucky enough to have them: for example, Himiko is great here as a superb Erudition character who hits for Weakness against the Ebon Deer whereas Luocha works magnificently as a healer.

As for who we recommend, here’s your F2P team for taking on Simulated Universe World 7 in Honkai: Star Rail:

  • Qingque (Erudition)
  • Yukong (Harmony)
  • Trailblazer (Preservation)
  • Natasha (Abundance)

This team isn’t one for fancy strategies or complicated plans: your main focus will be getting juiced up with buffs and then dealing as much damage as you can with your primary DPS. Meanwhile, you have a strong backline with a powerful tank and a reliable healer to carry you through the tougher sections of the SU. Even without special gimmicks, this team will get a lot of work done and is a perfect fit for the multi-target encounters of World 7.

Recommended F2P Team for SU World 7

Recommended F2P Team for SU World 7

Qingque

Starting with our main DPS, we have Qingque. As an Erudition character, she already fits in great as a potent force against the Ebon Deer. Thanks to her Quantum alignment, she’ll be hitting the boss (and at least one of their branches) for Weakness Break damage, allowing you to steadily build to that oh-so-satisfying Entanglement. Qinque is also surprisingly hearty with the health and defence to tank most attacks, meaning that she won’t be caught out on high-damage turns like Yukong or Natasha might.

As for her playstyle, Qingque’s whole deal is luck and randomness – a gacha within a gacha, if you will. You need her to match 4 tiles with her Skill to turn her Basic ATK into a Blast attack, letting you hit for more damage as well as expanding the range to three targets. That’s going to cost you a lot of Skill Points, though, and you may just get unlucky on certain occasions.

With this in mind, the best way to play around Qingque is to focus on giving her the best opportunities to get lucky. Of course, you cannot directly control whether or not Qingque rolls well but you can influence how many chances you get: make sure to save up the majority of your Skill Points for QQ’s turn, allowing her to get multiple chances at a good roll. Additionally, another tip is to wait to use her Ultimate until directly after you’ve used an Enhanced Basic ATK as it will instantly give you four matching tiles, allowing you to get off another Enhanced Basic in the next turn.

Bringing Qingque to the Simulated Universe is a risky affair, especially against an enemy as deadly as the Ebon Deer. However, with the correct preparation, an appropriate amount of buffs and a tiny bit of luck, she’ll be an excellent addition to anything you come across.

Main DPS, Qingque

Main DPS, Qingque

Yukong

Next, we have the newest member of the F2P gang, Yukong, who just became available as of Version 1.2. As an Imaginary Harmony character, Yukong has an excellent suite of buffs to provide the entire team: in fact, she’s one of the best buffers in the whole game, capable of dramatically increasing the damage potential of your strongest units.

With her Skill, Yukong can apply a consistent and very high ATK buff to the whole team which is a huge boon to Qingque. Additionally, if you use her Ultimate while the Roaring Bowstrings buff is still active, she’ll increase everyone’s CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG stats, too, making her an even better pair for a main DPS like QQ. There is a price for this strength, though, and it’s in Yukong’s ease of use: once you pop her Skill, the buff only lasts for 2 turns. If you don’t attack during those turns or your main DPS goes after those turns, the buff is wasted. As such, you’ll need to always be aware of the turn order whenever you use Yukong’s Skill, especially against the Ebor Deer where you cannot waste Skill Points if you want to succeed.

Fortunately, Yukong isn’t just a good buffer. As an Imaginary character, she can hit hard against several of the Ambrosial Arbor branches and even some of the Elites in World 7. In particular, her Ultimate is a near-guaranteed one-shot on the toughness bars of the branches, letting you quickly dispatch them in a single hit. Manage to pair this with her various buffs and you can realistically take out all 4 branches in a single turn with her, Qingque and the Trailblazer working together.

Buffing Superstar, Yukong

Preservation Trailblazer (Fire MC)

Now we come to the more defensive party members on your team, beginning with the Preservation Trailblazer. Pure tanks are rare in Honkai: Star Rail and the Trailblazer is one of the best thanks to their ability to direct and control enemy aggro. In particular, the taunt you can trigger by using the Trailblazer’s Skill is adept at directing the attention of irritating rank-and-file enemies like the Ambrosial branches.

They can even produce shields, although they won’t be as strong as the ones created by Gepard or even March. What this is useful for is keeping characters like Yukong or Natasha alive: the Ebor Deer, in particular, has some nasty attacks that may lead to some big trouble if you get unlucky with who it targets. As such, these additional shields are always going to be useful, especially when paired with the taunt.

What’s even better is that the Trailblazer can play an offensive role in the World 7 final boss, too. Both the Deer and several of the branches are weak to Fire. By using your Skill, you can attract the attention of the Deer and the branches which will keep your fragile teammates alive while also granting you stacks of Magma Will: you can then turn this Magma Will into an Enhanced Basic ATK that can hit multiple targets, allowing the Trailblazer to carve through the branches alongside Qingque. This is a massive help and the hybrid nature of the Trailblazer in World 7 is a giant boon to your team.

Tanky Defender, Preservation Trailblazer

Natasha

Finally, we have Natasha, our healer extraordinaire. As the only F2P Abundance character, Natasha will inevitably fall onto a lot of endgame teams so it’s a good thing she’s so good. Her Skill is a great source of instant healing and a cleanser for any debuffs your team will suffer throughout the World. Then, we have her Ultimate, which is another superb source of healing that can help your whole team get out of some very sticky situations, such as the Ebon Deer’s unavoidable AoE attacks.

Alongside her expert healing capabilities, Natasha will serve great as a Skill Point battery for your team. Between Qingque constantly needing to reroll her tiles, Yukong needing to reapply her buffs and the Trailblazer needing to taunt targets, you’ll be going through Skill Points at a blistering pace. When she’s not healing, Natasha can take on some of that burden by reliably regenerating those lost points with her Basic Attack.

Between her heals and her Skill Point regeneration, you don’t need to ask much else from Natasha. Make sure to bring her to your World 7 run attempt to get the best possible chance at success.

Path and Resonance Recommendations

Path of the Hunt

Lan is the Aeon of the Hunt and one of the main Aeons in the Simulated Universe. With a focus on out-speeding and overkilling enemy targets, the Path of the Hunt rewards gutsy players who just want to destroy their enemies as quickly and succinctly as possible. While it potentially isn’t as flashy as other Paths and lacks a core identity like Nihility and DoT or Elation and Follow-Up, the Hunt has massive potential, especially in World 7 where wiping enemies off the board as soon as possible is a priority. Play into the Path’s strengths and it will massively help you in your runs.

The main benefits included with the Hunt are SPD and CRIT bonuses. Just simply picking the Hunt as your main Path will give your entire team 6% additional SPD which can be added to with various Blessings. The higher your SPD, the more actions you’ll be able to take before your enemies can which can come in clutch against enemies like the Ebon Deer: if you’re fast enough, you can potentially take out the branches before they even get to do anything, saving you a lot of headaches in the process.

Lan, The Hunt

Lan, The Hunt

As for what Hunt Blessings you should prioritise, there are two main kinds. The first gives your character stat bonuses whenever they Weakness Break or defeat an opponent. These Blessings are rather straightforward but will help massively against the World 7 final boss and its minions. Celestial Annihilation is the best of these Blessings, immediately Advance Forwarding a character whenever they Weakness Break an opponent while also increasing the DMG of their next attack by 50%. Other Blessings to take note of are Thundering Chariot, which delays an enemy’s action by 20% whenever you Weakness Break them, and Auspicious Star, which regenerates 60% Ultimate Energy whenever an ally defeats an enemy.

The other main kind of Blessing to keep an eye out for is Critical Boost Blessings. These are few and far between but are incredibly useful. Critical Boost is a stack mechanic, with each stack providing a 6% CRIT Rate and 12% CRIT DMG boost up to 8 times. Imperial Reign is the main way you’ll be getting Critical Boost stacks and it’s a worthy pickup even if you’re not running Hunt as your main Path. The other main Critical Boost Blessing is Imperishable Victory but that is slightly harder to activate thanks to its requirement to defeat an enemy.

Now we have the Hunt Path Resonance. When cast, you will use up all your Resonance energy to deal Wind DMG to all enemies on the field based on the current ATK of the character with the highest ATK at that moment. This means that the damage of this Resonance can be buffed with Blessing effects or with traditional buffs from characters like Yukong. This Resonance is a great way of clearing through lower-tier enemies, wiping them off the board and allowing you to focus on larger, more menacing targets. This also makes it a superb activator of any “defeat enemy” Blessings.

Hunt Resonance

Hunt Resonance

To strengthen the Path Resonance and make it even stronger, you need to collect as many Hunt Blessings as you can. After you pick up six Hunt Blessings in total, you’ll be allowed to select a Resonance Formation Blessing, altering and enhancing the Resonance with several different effects. You can pick up a second, or even a third, Resonance Formation by picking up more Hunt Blessings. As for which Blessings you should prioritise, there are two main picks.

The first is Resonance Formation: Star Hunter. Whenever you use the Path Resonance, the ally with the highest ATK will be given a turn instantly and be given the Light-Hunting Celestial Arrow buff, which increases CRIT DMG by 50% of the character’s CRIT Rate stat. You will also gain an extra turn if you defeat an enemy with this buff. For your F2P team, this will almost always default to Qingque which is great: this allows her to deal a ton of damage and, if you time your Ultimate right, you can get multiple 4-tile Enhanced ATKs off back to back. Use this Blessing to help you either effectively take down the branches or lay the hurt onto the Ebon Deer.

Secondly, there’s Resonance Formation: Bow and Arrow which makes the Resonance automatically CRIT on any enemies below 50% HP. This Blessing makes the Resonance effect a much better option for dispatching smaller foes such as the Ambrosial Arbor branches. So long as you lower them to less than half health, you can rely on the Resonance to take them out in one clean sweep, letting the rest of your team focus purely on damaging the boss.

Other Paths

If you aren’t feeling the more risky playstyle of The Hunt and want something to help keep you alive during the Ebon Deer’s onslaught, there are alternative Paths to choose from. These Paths also have plenty of useful Blessings to pick up during a Hunt run, too. For World 7, the best alternative Paths to try out are the Path of Abundance and the Path of Remembrance

Compared to the Hunt, both of these Paths play more towards the defensive side of the coin. Starting with Abundance, this is the biggest safety net and the one you should choose if you’re struggling to keep your characters alive when fighting Elites or the Abundant Ebon Deer. Abundance Blessings focus on increasing your healing utility by either directly increasing the amount you can heal, attaching various buffs and bonuses to healing or allowing you to turn healing into an offensive force through Dewdrops. Whether you’re using Luocha or Natahsa or some other healer, you’ll be constantly aiding your allies, making the Abundance a great pick for those less confident in the headstrong approach of the Hunt.

The other recommended Path is that of Remembrance. A lot of this Path’s Blessings revolve around Freeze and Dissociation, massively helping out in group scenarios. Against the Ebon Deer, these Blessings won’t see much use (aside from a couple that bypasses Freeze RES) but they will matter against the Ambrosial Arbor branches: Freezing the branches is a great way to lock them down and stop them from causing trouble, meaning that they won’t be able to produce Lavish Fruits, counter, heal or do anything. If you find yourself struggling against the branches far more than the Deer or the Elites, consider picking up more Remembrance Blessings, or even the Path Resonance, to cleave through those weeds.

How to Beat SU World 7 in Honkai Star Rail

Your best course of action for beating World 7 in Honkai: Star Rail is to start with the Hunt Path and then pick up as many Blessings as you can during your run. You’ll want to try and build up enough Hunt Blessings so you can pick up one or two of the Resonance Formation Blessings, letting you massively upgrade your Resonance in preparation for the final fight. Of course, beating World 7 without an upgraded Resonance is possible but the dramatic buffs from Star Hunter or Bow and Arrow are great at getting rid of some of the more frustrating parts of the Ebor Deer fight.

You’ll need a total of 3 Hunt Blessings to unlock the initial Hunt Path Resonance. From there, you’ll get an upgrade to the Resonance every 3 Blessings so you should aim to grab at least 6 Hunt Blessings. On an average run of the Simulated Universe, you have 9 rooms where you have the chance to gain a Blessing between standard floors and Elite floors. When deciding on whether to go for combat or event rooms, take one event room for every two combat rooms: this ratio will ensure that you have a good opportunity to get some of the better event floors without missing out on a substantial amount of potential Blessings.

As for general play while moving through World 7, don’t be afraid to use your Path Resonance when facing down rank-and-file enemies. The Hunt Resonance is amazing at getting rid of weaker enemies who just serve to be a nuisance on the lower floors. If you can, we also recommend trying to get the Doctor’s Robe Curio to make your Resonance regenerate to full at the start of every battle. For Elite enemies, take it safe and remember to consistently taunt and heal. It’s easy to get caught up in the high damage and high CRITs of the Hunt playstyle so make sure not to neglect your defences.

Eventually, you’ll reach the final hurdle: the Abundant Ebor Deer.

One Final Hurdle

One Final Hurdle

Abundant Ebon Deer Boss Fight

To close out World 7, we have the boss fight against the Abundant Ebon Deer. Before the fight begins, make sure to pop the Trailblazer and Qingque’s Techniques: the former will give you a bit of additional DEF for the starting portions of the fight whereas Qingque’s will make it easier to get 4 matching tiles. Then, when you’re ready, start the fight with Qingque to cause some immediate Weakness Break damage.

Power of Abundance

Power of Abundance

Before going into general strategy, let’s go over the most annoying part of the fight: the Ambrosial Arbor branches. In phase 1, the Ebon Deer can only summon two branches to the field and they can only be either the Twig of Wintry Wind or the Twig of Marple Leaf: these are offensive branches which, ironically, makes them easier to deal with and less of a priority than the supportive branches. When phase 2 hits, the Deer will begin summoning 4 branches to the field and will gain access to all 4 branch types.

  • Twig of Wintry Wind: Deals minor Wind DMG and inflicts the target with Outrage, causing them to act on their own.
  • Twig of Marple Leaf: Will either enhances the Ebon Deer’s ATK or put up a Counter to attack your team.
  • Twig of Glorious Blooms: Heals all friendly unit’s HP based on the Glorious Blooms’ current health.
  • Twig of Lavish Fruits: Summons Lavish Fruits which allow the Abundant Ebon Deer to cast Flamboyant Gorge.

Another spanner in the works is that the branches have different Weaknesses which can make them tricky to Break. Fortunately, your team has the coverage to competently deal with every single one: the main Weaknesses shared by the branches are Quantum, Imaginary and Fire. Those weak to Quantum are simple enough – QQ will be dealing loads of AoE DMG already thanks to her kit and Blast attacks on the boss – but the Imaginary and Fire ones require the focus of Yukong and the Trailblazer. To be more specific, you’ll want to hit Imaginary Weak branches with Yukong’s Ultimate (which will take them out in one hit and give your team CRIT buffs) whereas the Trailblazer should cycle between taunting and using their Blast Basic ATK to take out those weak to Fire while keeping the aggro off squishier allies.

(From left to right) Twig of Glorious Blooms, Twig of Wintry Wind, Twig of Marple Leaf and the Twig of Lavish Fruits | Honkai Star Rail World 7

Ebon Deer Constructs

Beginning with general phase-to-phase strategies, phase 1 is just a slug-fest. Without the ability to spawn the more irritating and high-priority branches, the Abundant Ebon Deer and its minions will focus primarily on offence. During this time, taunt every other turn with the Trailblazer to keep attention on them and away from squishier targets like Yukong or Natasha. Make sure not to do it too often, though, as you’ll need to save your Skill Points for both Yukong’s Skill and Qingque’s tile flipping. If the branches get low enough, don’t be afraid to use the Hunt Resonance to clear them off the board, especially if it’s nearing the Deer’s turn: this will force them into summoning more, wasting turns it could have dealt damage.

After that, you have phase 2. Honestly, phases 2 and 3 are pretty similar with the difficulty ramping up significantly thanks to the introduction of the other branches and the more devastating moves from the Deer. During these phases, taking out all the branches is your main focus, no matter what: if you allow them to stay alive for too long, they’ll cause havoc with their own effects and debuffs but, more importantly, they may allow the Deer to heal to full health when it uses Rebirth, wiping away any progress you may have made. The same rules from before apply here in that you should use the Resonance to get rid of the branches rather than using it to damage the boss.

Beat back the Deer, crush any branches left in your path and, eventually, the Abundant Ebon Deer will fall. Congratulations! World 7 of the Simulated Universe has been bested, leaving you 200 Stellar Jade richer. You’ll also earn 2 Herta Bonds to use in the SU shop for 5-Star Light Cones as well as the fifth free copy of Herta, taking you up to Eidolon 4.
