Argenti Materials

First off, let’s discuss Argenti’s materials that you must gather to ascend him to Level 80. Here is the list of all things you need:

  • 15x Extinguished Core / 15x Glimmering Core / 15x Squirming Core (Numerous Enemy Drops)
  • 65x Netherworld Token (Stagnant Shadow Drops)
  • 308,000 Credits

When looking for the Core series materials, there are many sources in which you can find them, particularly in Jarilo-VI and Xianzhou Luofu (Ice Out of Space and Blaze Out of Space in Jarilo-VI; Windspawn and Thunderspawn in Xianzhou Luofu). Moreover, you will have better consistency in finding the materials when you try battling through Simulated Universe Worlds. Additionally, you can convert low-grade materials into higher grades using the Omni-Synthesizer. Last but not least, you can easily earn a steady stream of Extinguished Core through Assignments, netting you 20 (+10) pieces each day.

Another crucial material piece that you’ll need is the Stagnant Shadow Drop, the Netherworld. To unlock this Stagnant Shadow, you can find it in the newest sub-region within Xianzhou Luofu, the Foxystroll Garden. To earn the materials, you have to spend 30 Trailblaze Power to challenge them, and you will have better drops as your difficulty progresses. The main boss that you will encounter here is a brand-new enemy, Aurumaton Spectral Envoy, which can rip open your character if you’re not careful when facing their Reverberation attacks.

As for Argenti’s Traces, you’ll need all three rarities of the Path of Erudition material (Key of Inspiration, Key of Knowledge, and Key of Wisdom). You’ll also need to fight the newest Echo of War, Phantylia the Undying as Argenti needs the material, Regret of Infinite Ochema, from the weekly boss. This Echo will unlock after you progress through the Xianzhou Luofu main storyline introduced in Version 1.2.

Argenti Skill Overview

Just like all Honkai: Star Rail characters before him, Argenti has many tools to help him combat the enemies. From Basic Attack, and Technique, to Ultimate, we will take a look at each of them and see what Argenti is capable of.

Basic Attack: Fleeting Fragrance

Starting his kit overview, we’ll take a look at Argenti’s Basic Attack, Fleeting Fragrance. With this attack, Argenti deals Physical DMG to a single enemy target.

And that’s it. Unfortunately, you won’t find any unique mechanism within Argenti’s Basic Attack and shouldn’t expect special effects like those of Dan Heng IL or Blade. Still, his Basic Attack does its job when you need it the most, and that’s more than enough as Argenti dishes damage through his Ultimate.

Skill: Justice, Hereby Blooms

The next part of Argenti’s kit is his Skill, Justice, and Hereby Blooms. This Skill allows Argenti to dish Physical Damage equal to his 60-150% ATK to all enemies.

While might not fit the regal feeling that Argenti brings forth as a Knight of Beauty, this Skill works incredibly well with his Talent, Sublime Object, which can increase his CRIT Rate and Energy reserves, which we will discuss below.

Ultimate: For In This Garden, Supreme Beauty Bestows & Merit Bestowed in “My” Garden

While certainly lacking in the Basic Attack and Skill departments, Argenti shines best using his Ultimate. As seen in the sub-title, Argenti has two Ultimate stages, depending on the Energy consumption he uses. In the first stage, For In This Garden, Supreme Beauty Bestows, Argenti consumes 90 Energy to deal Physical DMG equal to 96% of Argenti’s ATK to all enemies. Fitting for an Erudition character, as he slashes through all enemies without mercy.

Meanwhile the second and more potent Ultimate stage, Merit Bestowed in “My” Garden, Argenti will consume more Energy (180 Energy, to be exact) to deal Physical DMG to all enemies. Also, he deals DMG for a set number of additional 6 extra times, dealing Physical DMG to a random enemy every time.

This means that Argenti’s second Ultimate stage is the go-to ability to use from the pair, as the effects from it can help Argenti gain his Talent’s stacks very easily.

Talent: Sublime Object

Argenti’s Talent, Sublime Object, is easily the best part of his kit. For every enemy hit when Argenti uses his Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, regenerates Argenti’s Energy by 3 and grants a stack of Apotheosis, increasing his CRIT Rate by 1.0%. This effect can stack up to 10 time(s).

In short, Argenti’s Talent opens up many benefits as long as he can attack an enemy. Moreover, the more enemies Argenti can attack at once, the stacks of Apotheosis can fill up, bringing his DPS output to a stronger height.

Technique: Manifesto of Pure Virtue

Lastly, Argenti’s last tool to purify his enemies and shine beauty against them is his Technique, Manifesto of Pure Virtue.  Argenti’s Technique is one of the better Techniques in Honkai: Star Rail, as he can help the team by applying Daze to all enemies in a set area for 10 seconds.

That’s not all that he can do, as the Daze effect disallows the enemies from actively attacking your team. And when you attack a Dazed enemy to enter combat, Argenti immediately deals Physical DMG to all enemies equal to 80% of Argenti’s ATK and regenerates his energy by 15.

Overall, this is also one of Argenti’s strong suits as his Technique gives you a great advantage when starting a combat. With that in mind, whenever possible, you should always try to use Argenti’s Technique thanks to its incredible buffs and head start for him.

Argenti’s Traces Breakdown

Argenti’s Traces focuses on giving him more damage-dealing capabilities by regenerating a portion of his Energy and adding a stack of Apotheosis immediately. Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll get from Argenti’s minor Trace trees:

  • 28% ATK Boost ( 4 + 4 + 6 + 6 + 8)
  • 14.4% Physical DMG Boost (3.2 + 4.8 + 6.4)
  • 10% Max HP Boost (4 + 6)

Following the minor Traces, we will now move on to Argenti’s Major Traces. The first one is Argenti’s Ascension 2’s Trace, Piety. At the start of a turn, Argenti immediately gains a 1 stack(s) of Apotheosis. This Trace helps Argenti to reach his maximum Apotheosis stack counts faster, as he needs 10 stacks to fully optimize his DPS output as an AoE character. Simple, yet elegant like Argenti himself.

Moving on to the second Major Trace is Generosity, which you can get after getting Argenti to the Ascension 4 stage. When enemy targets enter battle, Argenti immediately regenerates 2 Energy for self. This means that Argenti can reach the Energy required to trigger his second Ultimate stage, Merit Bestowed In “My” Garden, a tiny bit faster.

Lastly, there’s Argenti’s Ascension 6 Trace, Courage. Deals 15% more DMG to enemies whose HP percentage is 50% or less. Among his Traces, this is the most important Trace to have, as the longer the battle goes on, the more damage Argenti can dish out against his foes, as Courage enables him to permanently deal 15% more DMG against enemies with low HP.

Argenti Abilities Priority

Now that we are familiar with Argenti’s Traces and their effects, it’s time to discuss what abilities you should prioritize when building Argenti to help him reach his maximum potential.

  1. For In This Garden, Supreme Beauty Bestows & Merit Bestowed in “My” Garden (Ultimate)
  2. Sublime Object (Talent)
  3. Justice, Hereby Blooms (Skill)
  4. Fleeting Fragrance (Basic ATK)

As stated previously, Argenti’s main focus is trying to unleash his second Ultimate stage as soon and as many as he can, though to do so, he must also need his Talent’s buffs to maximize his role as a DPS AoE Erudition character. Therefore, the highest priorities for Argenti are both his Ultimate and Talent, as they work in tandem to unleash Argenti’s powers as a Knight of Beauty.

From there, we work through his Skill, Justice, Hereby Blooms, as this is Argenti’s main way of offense whenever his Ultimate is not yet ready. In addition, since his Skill makes him attack all enemies available in combat, the Apotheosis stacks can fill up faster, therefore granting him faster Ultimate uptime.

Lastly, Fleeting Fragrance takes the last spot on the priority table for Argenti, as it only makes Argenti target a singular enemy and deal minor Physical DMG to that enemy. Adequate for increasing Apotheosis stacks, but fulfills no other role than that.

Argenti’s Eidolons

Once you get to know how Argenti works his way through his enemies, we will now list all of Argenti’s Eidolons in Honkai: Star Rail. Eidolons can be acquired by pulling the same character multiple times from the Event Warp. To earn Argenti’s unique Eidolons, you need to have multiple copies of him from his Character Event Warp, “Thorns of Scented Crown”.

  1. A Lacuna in Kingdom Aesthetics: Each stack of Apotheosis additionally increases CRIT DMG by 4%.
  2. Agate’s Humility: If the number of enemies on the field equals 3 or more when the Ultimate is used, ATK increases by 40% for 1 turn(s).
  3. Thorny Road’s Glory: Skill Lv. +2 and Talent Lv. +2.
  4. Trumpet’s Dedication: At the start of the battle, gains 2 stack(s) of Apotheosis and increases the maximum stack limit of the Talent’s effect by 2.
  5. Snow, From Somewhere in Cosmos: Ultimate Lv. +2 and Basic Attack Lv. +1.
  6. Your Resplendence: When using Ultimate, ignore 30% of enemy targets’ DEF.

The best Eidolon that Argenti has is his E1, as this enables the Apotheosis stacks to also have CRIT DMG Boost on top of the CRIT Rate and Energy Restoration effects. This means that at the full stack, Argenti’s E1 enables him to get a 40% CRIT DMG bonus on top of a 32.5% CRIT Rate buff. Overall, a super solid Eidolon to have and is a great stopgap for players who want to improve their Argenti without spending too much money.

Argenti’s Best Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail

Best in Slot: An Instant Before A Gaze

When talking about what would be the best Light Cone for Argenti, you shouldn’t look further than his signature Light Cone, An Instant Before A Gaze (Path of Erudition), as this Light Cone takes the crown. You can try and obtain An Instant Before A Gaze from the Light Cone Event Warp “Brilliant Fixation”, which is still ongoing in tandem with Argenti’s Character Event Warp. Since this Light Cone is tailor-made for Argenti, the effects it has are perfect to complement his wonderful DPS potential as a Knight of Beauty.

At level 80, An Instant Before A Gaze nets you 1058 HP, 582 ATK, and 463 DEF to the holder. This Light Cone has one main Ability, A Knight’s Pilgrimage, and there are many benefits to unpack here. First of all, this Light Cone grants its user a 36% CRIT DMG Bonus, which is always welcome, especially for Argenti, a character who can get CRIT Rate on his own. In addition to that, when the wearer uses Ultimate, increases the wearer’s Ultimate DMG based on their Max Energy. Each point of Energy increases the Ultimate DMG by 0.36%, up to 180 points of Energy. The numbers fit Argenti like a glove, which grants him a bonus Ultimate DMG by up to 64.8%, which is massive for him, or any Erudition character like Jing Yuan or Himeko.

An Instant Before A Gaze has everything to make your Argenti fulfill his role as best as he can, as this Light Cone allows him to dish out more damage as long as you can keep his Ultimate uptime consistent enough.

Best Alternatives for Argenti’s Light Cones

Even though we’ve explained that An Instant Before A Gaze is Argenti’s best Light Cone, as a Knight of Beauty and a Path of Erudition character, he has several options to pick from as his alternative Light Cones.

Before we dive in, it should be worth mentioning that the recommendations will mainly be 4-Star in rarity, though we will include a 5-Star option that is earnable through free-to-play methods.

The best replacement Light Cones for Argenti in Honkai: Star Rail is Night on the Milky Way, Geniuses’ Repose, and The Seriousness of Breakfast.

Light Cones Breakdown

Night on the Milky Way is Himeko’s Signature Light Cone, though you can obtain it for free once you manage to earn 600 Undying Starlight and exchange them in the Starlight Exchange Store. At level 80, it will give your characters 1164 HP, 582 ATK, and 396 DEF. Its Ability, Meteor Swarm, has several effects. For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer’s ATK by 9.0%, up to 5 stacks, and when an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 30% for 1 turn. While not necessarily the best option for all types of challenges within Honkai: Star Rail, this Light Cone can still do its job for Argenti as long as the enemies’ numbers exceed one.

Moving on to the next Light Cone is Geniuses’ Repose, another solid all-rounder Path of Erudition Light Cone that can support Argenti’s abilities. Moreover, you can get this Light Cone from the game’s various Warp Banners, including the current “Brilliant Fixation”. Its Ability, Each Now Has a Role to Play, which increases the wearer’s ATK by 16%, and when the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 24% for 3 turn(s), inherently grants Argenti a 16% ATK increase while also increasing his CRIT DMG whenever he defeats an enemy, which works well with his Talent, Skill, and Ultimate.

Lastly, we have The Seriousness of Breakfast, a great free-to-play Erudition Light Cone as you can purchase it from the Forgotten Hall’s Store. Don’t let it fool you, as its Ability, Get Ready, increases the wearer’s DMG by 12%. For every defeated enemy, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4%, stacking up to 3 time(s).

Best Relics and Planar Ornaments for Argenti

Relics are arguably the most versatile part of any Honkai: Star Rail character build, which you can try matching two combinations that you see fit for that character. Moreover, every set has its unique effects and abilities that can shift a character’s potential. For Argenti, we want to give him a Relic Set and Planar Ornaments that can enhance his attacking abilities that are consistent throughout combat.

With that in mind, the best Relic and Planar Ornament set for Argenti is the 4-piece Champion of Streetwise Boxing and the 2-piece Inert Salsotto. Starting with our main Relic set, Champion of Streetwise Boxing increases the wearer’s Physical DMG by 10%. Moreover, after the wearer attacks or is hit, their ATK increases by 5% for the rest of the battle. This effect can stack up to 5 time(s). Lastly, to pair the Relic Set, we have the Planar Ornament set, Inert Salsotto, which increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%. In addition, when the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.

Combination Explanations

Now, I will briefly explain to you why these two sets are the best-in-slots for Argenti. To start, the number of basic stats within these two sets provides a ton of damage bonuses for Argenti (10% Physical DMG + 25% ATK after Champion of Streetwise Boxing’s stacks reach a maximum number + 8% CRIT Rate + 15% Ultimate and Follow-up Attack DMG), which in turn, allows him to shine better as he is reliant on his Ultimate and Talent.

This combination of Champion of Streetwise Boxing and Inert Salsotto also plays to Argenti’s inherent strength, which lies in his Ultimate and Talent’s Apotheosis stacks, which will be boosted thanks to Inert Salsotto’s effects.

Argenti’s Crucial Stats

Here are the main stats we’re recommending Trailblazers should hunt for if they want their Argenti to be the best DPS unit he can be:

  • Body: CRIT DMG% / CRIT Rate%
  • Feet: ATK% / SPD
  • Planar Sphere: Physical DMG Bonus
  • Link Rope: ATK%

Meanwhile, here’s what you want to be on the lookout for in terms of Argenti’s sub-stats:

  1. CRIT DMG
  2. CRIT Rate
  3. ATK%
  4. SPD

Best Teams for Argenti in Honkai: Star Rail

Argenti Hypercarry Team

Though a great Erudition character, Argenti still requires the correct supporting characters that can help him shin by making his Ultimate uptime consistent while also enabling him to attack as many enemies as he can in one instance.

With that in mind, Argenti’s Hypercarry team includes Bronya, Tingyun, and Huohuo.

As mentioned time and time again, Argenti needs a lot of energy for his Ultimate so that he can dish out the maximum damage he can do against his enemies. And so, the presence of both Huohuo and Tingyun can help him regenerate Energy for his Ultimate and grant ATK buffs to deal more DMG.

As for Bronya, she can give Argenti extra turns whenever she uses her Skill for him, and she can also increase Argenti’s CRIT DMG, therefore allowing him to deal more damage more frequently.

Argenti F2P Team

You can easily form a team with Argenti in Honkai: Star Rail, as many amazing F2P units work well with him. You can use Argenti right away after you get him from the gacha, so you don’t necessarily have to wait for his partners from gacha/other sources. The F2P team for Argenti consists of Hanya/Yukong, Lynx/Natasha, and Trailblazer (Fire).

For the first character on this team, Yukong is a perfect free-to-play character to back Argenti up, thanks to her abilities to provide him with CRIT DMG and ATK buffs. If you’re still feeling unsure about whether you want to use her on this team, then you can instead use Hanya, the latest 4-Star Harmony character who can provide SPD buffs and help recover Skill Points. Hanya can also equip Planetary Rendezvous and Penacony, Land of Dreams to increase Argenti’s overall DMG. The choice is in your hands.

Lastly, the Fire Trailblazer and Natasha help Argenti to remain safe and sound throughout the battle by providing both shielding abilities and healing powers respectively.
