Spiral Abyss, for those who don’t know, is currently Genshin Impact‘s end game content. This dungeon consists of floors with a set of chambers each. For each chamber, you’ll encounter a set of mobs and a clear condition. After each chamber, you’ll be rated with stars ranging from 1-3 based on how well you’ve done. But of course, we’re all going for that 3-star clear! The Spiral Abyss has rewards, of course. The rewards get better as you ascend from floor to floor, but the main reward here that players are really looking forward to are the primogems that are used to pull characters from the banners.

Anyway, enough of all that, let’s go ahead with the tips and tricks!
Scouting!
Before entering the floor, you can actually check out which mobs you’d be facing. This is helpful in a way that you can adjust your team before you tackle the challenge. To do this, after choosing a floor, you can actually click on the 3 different chambers. Use this to your advantage. At first, this might seem like something trivial, but when you get to the later floors of the Spiral Abyss, there’s going to be two paths. Each of them has different mobs and different objectives, so this is a good way to prepare you for their onslaught. Now, with chambers having two paths, this leads me to my next point.
You’ll need a second team for floors 5 and beyond
When you reach floor 5, the floor will have two halves. This means that you’ll need a second party to handle the second half of the chamber. You cannot use a character twice, so you really need to build another team from scratch. Now, this will take time because building even one team to fit your playstyle takes a long time, what more a second one. Don’t rush; the Spiral Abyss will always be there, ready to give you the primogems you deserve.
Blessings, Ley Line Disorders, and Benedictions
Blessing of the Abyssal Moon
The blessing of the Abyssal Moon is a buff that changes monthly. An example of it would be this:
From what it seems like, characters that use weapons with faster attack speed have the advantage. Weapons that pop into mind are bows, swords, spears, and maybe even catalysts. These weapons are very common, and for sure you have one of them in your party. If they’re your main DPS, then you’re in luck. If not, then it’s fine. Brute force it!
Ley Line Disorder
Ley Line Disorders act in the same line as the blessings; the difference would be that these ones are a little bit unpredictable. They can be buffs, debuffs, or situational. However, when you land on a floor that has a good Ley Line Disorder, you’ll have a much easier time clearing it. So keep an eye out for those, too. Oh, and you can check out the Ley Line Disorder before you enter the floor too. Scout! Scout! Scout!
Benediction
Benedictions look like cards, and they appear at the start of the chamber. They work like the Blessings of the Abyssal Moon, where they give you buffs, but the difference is that these buffs are separated into three. Ones that persists throughout the floor, ones that persist throughout the chamber, and ones that happen instantly (Like a restore HP benediction). Of course, these are situational. You might want to read each card and make sure that it works out with your team composition. If in case you can’t choose, you might want to just pick up the “Effective this floor” choice as they persist through the whole run even if you change chambers.
Use the cliffs!
See that cliff right there? You can push mobs down there. Keep in mind that not all chambers have stages with cliffs, and sometimes just killing the mobs straight up will save you more time than pushing them from the middle of the room to the cliff with your weapon knockback. There are times, though, that a mob will spawn near the cliff, so when they do, just knock them back and yell, “This is Sparta!”
I hope these tips have helped you conquer the Spiral Abyss. At the end of all of this, it’s still your team composition that matters. So you might want to check our team building tips as well, written by yours truly. For more tips that I might have missed, check out Demone Kim’s video about it.
