Kamisato Ayato is the Head of the prestigious Kamisato Clan, who oversees the Yashiro Commission, one of the Three Commissions in Inazuma. He’s quite a busy man, however, he will surely return to Genshin Impact’s future events.

Who is Kamisato Ayato from Genshin Impact?
Kamisato Ayato is a 5-star character, and is an important figure within Inazuma’s politics, being the head of the Kamisato Clan and the Yashiro Commission.
Grand festivals like this monopolize the Tenryou Commission’s resources… Your timing is impeccable. Pity you were all they sent.

He’s a calm, collected, calculating, and slightly naughty man that likes to tease Thoma, his closest aide. He’s almost the perfect package for a person… But don’t let him near your kitchen, or you’ll have an awful stomach.
How to Get Kamisato Ayato
Since Ayato is a unique 5-star character, he can only appear on the Event Wish Banner. Unfortunately, that also means that he’s unavailable outside of his banners.
His first appearance was back in Version 2.5, and this will be his second feature in the Event Wish Banner.

Kamisato Ayato Level-Up Resources
To build your Ayato to Level 90, you must prepare these Ascension Materials:
- Varunada Lazurite (Hydro)
- Sakura Bloom (Inazuma Specialty)
- Handguards (Enemy Drop from Nobushi and Kairagi)
- Dew of Repudiation (World Boss)
Varunada Lazurite is the gemstone crucial for Ayato’s ascension. Lazurite is the Hydro variant of the Gemstone, and you usually find them after you defeat Hydro-based Bosses, such as the Oceanid, the Hydro Hypostasis, and one of the Weekly Bosses, Scaramouche. Ayato will need 1 Sliver, 9 Fragments, 9 Chunks, and 6 Gemstones.
Ayato also needs Sakura Bloom, a material native to Inazuma, and you can find them in the Narukami Island area. Unfortunately, there are no NPCs that sell this material, so the only way to get them is to travel to their locations and harvest it with Electro reaction. To level up your Ayato to 90, you’ll need a minimum of 168 Sakura Blooms. The Teyvat Interactive Map can help you locate this material faster.
The next material necessary for Ayato is the Handguards, which you can get after defeating the Nobushis and Kairagis within the Inazuma region. Their drop rate is slightly lower than other materials, so proceed while keeping this in mind. In total, Ayato needs 18 Old Handguards, 30 Kageuchi Handguards, and 36 Famed Handguards.
And the last piece for building Ayato is the Dew of Repudiation. This is a World Boss material that you can earn from the Hydro Hypostasis in Inazuma. You can find this boss in the Suigetsu Pool area, within Watatsumi Island. This boss will summon Hydro-related AoE attacks against you, like the Rolling Waves and the Twisting Vortex, however, you can deal with this Boss easily using Pyro or Electro characters. You will need 46 Dew of Repudiation to raise Ayato to Level 90.
As usual, you’ll need to prepare 420 Thousand Mora and 416 Hero’s Wit EXP Books to fully ascend your Ayato.

Kamisato Ayato’s Abilities Overview
As a Hydro Sword character, Ayato uses his swift slashes to face his enemies. Ayato’s role for the team is a Main DPS, while also being a reliable Hydro applier.
Ayato prefers using Kamisato Art: Marobashi as his Normal Attack, where he performs up to 5 rapid strikes. Meanwhile, he will dash forward and perform an iai for his Charged Attack.

As for his Elemental Skill, Ayato utilizes Kamisato Art: Kyouka, in which he shifts positions and enters the Takimeguri Kanka state. While in this state, he will leave a watery illusion at his original location that will explode if opponents are nearby or after its duration ends, dealing AoE Hydro DMG.
Not only that, but Ayato also uses his Shunsuiken to engage in blindingly fast attacks, causing DMG from his Normal Attacks to be converted into AoE Hydro DMG.

- Kamisato Art: Marobashi: Although Ayato’s Elemental Skill takes Normal Attack DMG as its base, it is separate from his actual Normal Attack stat, so leave this as the last one for upgrades.
Ayato’s Talent Ascension Materials are the Elegance Series (Teachings of Elegance, Guide to Elegance, and Philosophies of Elegance), Handguards, and Mudra of the Malefic General (Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto/End of the Oneiric Euthymia Weekly Boss material).

The Ideal Choice
The best weapon option for Ayato is the Haran Geppaku Futsu sword.
Haran Geppaku Futsu is a 5-star sword that you can get from Epitome Invocation Wish. This weapon increases the CRIT Rate by 33.1% and has 608 ATK at Level 90. The sword’s unique skill is Honed Flow, which increases the user’s All Elemental DMG Bonus by 12%, as well as increasing the user’s Normal Attack DMG by 20% for 8s when certain conditions are met.
This weapon is the perfect fit for Ayato thanks to its All Elemental DMG Bonus, as well as Normal Attack DMG increase that benefits his Elemental Skill greatly.

It has 44.1% CRIT DMG and 674 ATK at Level 90, giving off nice bonuses for DPS-oriented characters. However, the true star of this sword is its skill, Mistsplitter’s Edge, which grants the user 12% All Elemental DMG Bonus, just like Haran, and provides Elemental DMG Bonus for the character’s Elemental Type.
Another option for your Ayato’s build is the Primordial Jade Cutter, a 5-star sword you can obtain from both the Standard Banner and Epitome Invocation Wish. This weapon gives a 44.1% CRIT Rate and 542 ATK at Level 90, and its unique skill, Protector’s Virtue, suits Ayato well thanks to its HP increase plus an ATK Bonus based on 1.2% of his Max HP.

Best Artifact for Kamisato Ayato
Ayato is pretty versatile when it comes to his artifact, as long as the set can maximize his Elemental Skill damage. That being said, the Artifact Set that suits him the best is the Echoes of an Offering.
Right off the bat, this set can boost Ayato’s ATK by 18% thanks to its 2-piece bonus. Not only that, the 4-piece bonus of Echoes of an Offering gives a 36% chance of triggering Valley Rite, which will increase Normal Attack DMG by 70% of ATK. The odds seem low, however, this set will give an additional 20% chance of triggering Valley Rite whenever your Normal Attack fails to activate it.
Overall, Echoes of an Offering utilizes Ayato’s quick attacks from his Elemental Skill, adding good damage whenever the set’s bonus is activated.
For alternative Artifact Sets, you can use 2-piece Echoes of an Offering/Shimenawa’s Reminiscence/Vermillion Hereafter and 2-piece Heart of Depth, which grants Ayato +18% ATK Bonus and a 15% Hydro DMG Bonus.

To make Ayato someone befits his position as the Kamisato Clan head and the Yashiro Commissioner, here are the stats you must look out for when creating a build for Ayato:
- CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
- Hydro DMG
- ATK%
As the main DPS, Ayato must have a great amount of CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. You should aim for a minimum 55%/150% ratio of CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG for your Ayato. To help with this objective, you must have one of these stats as your main stat in the Circlet artifact.
The next stat you should prioritize is Hydro DMG. Ayato is a character that is centered around his Elemental Skill, and that ability uses Hydro as damage instances, so once you get a desirable CRIT DMG and Rate, you should always find a Goblet with Hydro DMG as its Main Stat.
Lastly, try to find as much ATK% as you can for Ayato’s artifacts. While the other two take priority over this stat, as the main DPS, Ayato needs every ATK he can get to truly shine on the battlefield.

These team compositions will have Ayato as the main DPS for the team. We will provide several team options, and one of them will be a Budget Team, which is a F2P-friendly team (of course, Ayato excluded).
Vaporize Team
This team consists of Ayato, Yoimiya, Yun Jin, and Zhongli.
Here, Yun Jin and Zhongli will play a similar role of Shielder, but in Yun Jin’s case, she’s also going to be a buffer for Ayato through her Elemental Burst, Cliffbreaker’s Banner, which increases Normal Attack DMG for all nearby party members.
Yoimiya is on this team as the Pyro applier, since she can dish out quick successions of Pyro-infused attacks through her Elemental Skill, Niwabi Fire Dance, which changes her Normal Attack DMG into Pyro DMG.
Finally, as the star of this team, Ayato will use his Elemental Burst first during the rotation, and then dish out the final blows to the enemies once he gets the buff from Yun Jin and the Pyro-infused enemies from Yoimiya.
Vaporize Team.
Hyperbloom Team
This team consists of Ayato, Raiden Shogun, Nahida, and Kaedahara Kazuha.
This team focuses on Hyperbloom, one of the newest Elemental Reactions in Genshin Impact.
Nahida is here to provide the team with Dendro presence, by utilizing her Elemental Skill, All Schemes to Know, and Nahida’s Burst is really important for this team, as it will give the much-needed buff for this team to work.
As for Ayato, he will kickstart the chains by unleashing his Elemental Burst, Kamisato Art: Suiyuu, to make a constant Hydro presence on the field. Then, after other characters finished setting up their Elemental reactions and buffs, Ayato will return as the on-field DPS, unleashing his might through his Elemental Skill, Kamisato Art: Kyouka.
Then, Nahida will be our Dendro applier using her Elemental Skill, All Schemes to Know. After releasing her Skill, Nahida will also need to unleash her Elemental Burst, Illusory Heart, so that the team’s Hyperbloom rotations can proceed more smoothly.
For Ayato’s tandem, Raiden Shogun will take a place as the Electro battery/Secondary DPS, dealing damage through her Elemental Skill, Transcendence: Baleful Omen, as well as her Elemental Burst, Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu. Next on the list is Sucrose, she will act as the battery/Support for the team, infusing the Pyro element from Xiangling and Bennett into her Elemental Burst, Forbidden Creation – Isomer 75 / Type II.
